Right? well, it's sooo exactly like how it all happened - it showed (especially the scene with the break-up with the wife) too much of the negatives of david's break-down. Also it seems like they've taken a lot from Angie's side of the story - like the sleeping with mick Jagger (angie bowie did actually say that 'when you see two men sleeping together, completely naked it doesn't necessarily mean they had sex'[rough quote])but yeah

People say about this movie that it's complete fantasy, but that's not true. It's by no means to-the-letter accurate, and a lot of the characters' histories are amalgamations, but it seems to me that the mechanics and events of the era are pretty well documented, plus with glam rock, the further away from plain reality you get the closer you are to embodying the true spirit of the era. Bowie's PR girl, for instance, completely made up everything she wrote under the name of "David".

Just watched the movie, its pretty much the life story of David Bowie but changed slightly to make it more theatrical. I didn't like how they tried to make Bowie look like some careless rocker who was all style and no substance. It really played to the stereo types of Bowie. Still a pretty good movie though.
