The major difference in D/F vs prop planes is the fact that there is no prop wash over the surfaces. These are like gliders being pushed so controls are mushy until you have speed (that's why I've been experimenting with thrust vectoring). If you turn too quick the fan can cavitate or stall out, so the plane takes more time to recover. But they track like arrows and roll really well.
I would say no, only because the gear is a bit flimsy and the nose is delicate. So if you have a smooth runway you'd be OK, it flys well but needs to be greased in on landings. Good Luck!
About how long are your flight times with the stock battery?

I never flew the stock battery. On a 4cell 25C 2250mah pack I got 5-7min

All in all, what would be the major differences (in handling) between this and and a "normal" scale/sport prop plane?

I have been flying prop aircraft for quite some time now and I am looking into EDF. Is this a intro jet?
