I remember playing this game, I was too young to understand it. My grandmother gifted it to me. A few weeks later after getting the game, I found an action figure of the mech you use and I bought it... too bad that I've lost it.
ahhhhh, even thought the VIPER BOOST rulzs and pwns all, i was hoping you would have went toe to toe with the fleet and used your missiles. That was my favorite part of the game. " to target all my missile on one ship and watch it explode while my missiles were targeting another and another. The replay of that is awsome when you let it play in slow motion.
this game was totally the shit. i played it for hours. i wish i had not lost it. i dont think i was ever able to beat the last boss the cause once he transformed into the gold thing he became like overly hard. but i love this game
@HatesOnU Shit, Tobal 2 is, perhaps, the greatest PSX game ever made and NOBODY knows about it...Then again, it never made it to the States. But real niggas who import know the deal. Chea.
@HatesOnU But you're right, this and Rival Schools are hella under-rated. Rivals Schools was the fcking bomb. We played that game TO DEATH! PSX was the greatest system of all-time. And I go back to Colecovision; I know my gaming. I'm a gaming aficionado...PSX had soooooo many great classics but it's the number of "sleeper" hits that has me putting it at number 1. Games like Armored Core or Brave Fencer Musashi weren't huge hits like FFVII or MGS but they were still great games worthy of purchase
i remember a game that was EXTREMELY similar to this, does anyone know what it's called? it had robots like this and this perspective, but i remember being able to twist and twirl around. there was also an enemy that i remember in particular, it looked like a feminine robot, red and white, with extremely thin arms, looked similar to deoxys speed version from pokemon. the background was all white, looked like mechanical stuff. or maybe it IS this game? any help?
by twist and twirl around, i mean the camera didn't change like here. here, you can move up down left right and diagonal, and in the other game you can kind of do a roll type thing but the camera never changed positions.
Mhmm, the game you are thinking of is "Zone of the Enders" for PS2. ^_^ Excellent game, and yes, very similar to Omega Boost. Maybe Kojima got inspiration from it? Hmm...
No problem at all. I loved Omega Boost. Recently I decided to try Zone of the Enders (playing it now) because I saw it had similarities. Glad I could be of help!
I won't lie to you; I have this game and love i to death! This is one game that is slept on indeed! Polyphonic should take initiative in bringing this franchise back. If they can take time every year to bring back Grand Turismo, they should bring back Omega Boost on ps3! Great music, great graphics, even for it's time of being a PSone game! Thing is, even now, I can still beat this game in 30mins or less! They need to make it longer! Thanks graciously for the awesome Video!! Peace!
I'd have to go with The newer Robotech Game. Battlecry or something like that. Anyway, ever since i was just a kid I had wanted to get my hands on a Varitech Fighter. I will give Omega this, it was fun.
Its a remarkable achievement that Polyphony was able to get the PS1 to do what it did with Omega Boost. The fact that the game ran silky smooth almost all the time proved that Polyphony has some amazing developers.
@madsli It is kind of a rail game because enemies appear in waves which you have no control over. You have freedom of movement in many cases and can circle and strafe enemies, but the levels are presented to you in a specific way and you have no freedom to explore or experience the level in a different way.
reminds me of Panzer Dragoon. I'll get this game next time I see it. wasn't sure if I wanted to get it or not. as for the soundtrack, if it's not on the internet already I can rip it when I get it.
cool game i've played one time when my brother brought his PSOne to my house years back...if only there was a PS2/PSP remake...or in this instance, I feel very bad I don't know where i could find that game.
i use to had this game before man it was sweet and it still look sweet now too bad i pawn it years ago i mean i had to the game was not working on my playstation
i dont know why but i cracked my copy. i loved the game, but i could only beat it with some gameshark codes. this was the furthest out i think 14 levels i could get w/o it
By the way, this game had a good motion motor, you can prove it when you used the viper boost.
