If a mermaid dident use her hand's to swim why hands? why not just flippers instead of hands if they have no use?

@Lolztobehad That's what I'm saying, of course she's not real I know this is a costume, but there are videos where mermaids appear and don't use their hands (and swim SUPER FAST) seriously no human could do that!

@balletzenaida People can swim very quickly in tails while not using their hands. It just takes ab and stomach muscles. The problem with most people is they want to use their legs too much and not move their entire bodies. This girl only kicks her feet when she does use the tail so she has to use her hands to balance it out. If she used her abs like she's supposed to, she could do a fluid movement and wouldn't need her hands at all.
