The thing is, here in the deep south, outside of some really, really, large cities...most cities are compromised of basically just blacks and whites.

I stay in a mid-sized metropolitan area, and there are no other communities besides blacks and whites that are even big enough to have a voice. However, we dont have these segregated proms.

Sadly, I can say that in several rural counties and towns in south Georgia, they still have segregated proms as well.

@sacuin There's a town in Ga. where there was recently a white, black AND Hispanic prom. Most communities in the Deep South are not diverse, being composed mainly of people of Northern European or African-American descent...though that's changing as the region becomes more racially diverse. That increasing diversity will be another challenge to segregation holdovers like this.
