He doesn't try to impress people with his skills, his brain just works at a higher level to the point of disinterest over simple music. It's why he has transcribed and played off the fucking wall difficulty level classical pieces.

He had to invent new guitar techniques just to make some of the stuff even physically possible.

He doesn't have "skills", he pioneered advanced playing douche.

@gitarmats well you're right: famous does not equal good because many crappy pop singers and rappers suck and are still famous. but in the case of shredd guitar players, most of the famous ones ARE good because you need to be good in order to become a famous shredd guitar player while you only need to have a 6 pack if you wanna be a famous rapper :P

It's Marshal Harrison on guitar. He played a few shows with D. Zappa on the Zappa does Zappa tour. He is a huge Shawn Lane fan and has face-melting technique and licks. I personally think there are much better composers on guitar, but technique wise he's one of the best ever. Just type in his name on youtube and watch a few of his videos.
