  • this is exactly the thing i want to do with my life!

  • The breeder who I got my 2 male pacific blue parrotlets couldn't handle so many birds so instead of plannig to get just one male for a pet I got 2 males, they are brothers and get along quite well but there are fights but no injuries :) I love then so naughty but cute and smart at the same time

  • I love the work you do, thanks for taking care of them.

  • i have a love bird called kiwi he is so cute

  • I live in Finland ,Europe and here in Finland we don't have places where we could adopt birds and I would love to get a cockatoo but it costs 1200euros=1800dollars.

  • @minapuhuhuonosuomi - I know this is a late reply, but anyway. I live in Sweden and there are no rescues here either, but there are always unwanted birds in ads that needs homes.

And the purchase itself is the small cost, it is the food, the toys, the insurance, the vet bills and things like that that makes the real sum. ;)

  • Thanks for posting this video! We all need to promote RESCUE, DON'T BREED OR BUY!

    Blessings from Linda Kershaw

  • @birdlady423 depends where you live, australia it is very hard to find a fosterbird.

  • @xrhystonx I wish that were the case in America. There are birds on waiting lists in America for rescue centers. Do people in Australia just let there birds go fly free if they don't want them anymore? I wish birds could survive the freedom here, but it is too cold in the winter.

  • i want that job

  • my quaker parrots' first owner died and they passed her on to us.

  • Most parrots are not so lucky... :(

  • i know...sometimes i wish i could have some kind of Godly power and take all those poor babies into my home and love them and care for them. i just hope their in a better place after suffering in such a cruel world.

  • I know...all we can do is save them 'one parrot at a time:'

One day, a man walking along the beach noticed another man

picking up starfish and tossing them into the ocean. Curious, the first man asked the second man why, and he explained that the low tide had stranded the starfish on shore, and they would die unless they made it back

into the water. But there are thousands of starfish on the beach! exclaimed the first man. You couldnt possibly make a difference!

  • With a smile, the second man bent down and picked up another starfish and said, I made a difference to THIS one!

  • I love this story! FANTASTIC!

    Prayers and blessings,

    Linda Kershaw & Geronimo

  • I did some volunteering at this place in the summer of 2003. I miss it sometimes. But I am glad to be owned by two great cats, Goldmine and Raphael! ;)

  • Just cats? No Parrots??? ~SMILE~

Have you been to the Refuge's website lately? They just finished their addition and there is a slideshow of it.

  • That's so great! Thank goodness for true parrot lovers. And remember, folks, if you want a parrot, first do research. And then ADOPT a bird who needs a great home.

  • Richard-

Thanks for this new vid. Thankfully, there are people like you and Karen to look out for the homeless birds. My wife and I do parrot rescue here in the greater Kansas City metro, so we know how difficult it can be at times. Have you finished the new addition yet? Also, how's Prince doing? Max sends his "thank you," and love.
