  • GROW UP! Yeah,it's simple stuff,genius! ]:(

He had to give him growth

  • It is actually interesting to see the difference between the 60's version and 22 years later (most of the story is the same, just changed a little in the 80s version)

  • Que orgullosa me siento el poder ver el primer anime *w* .. :) ...

gracias a este anime ... los animes de ahora son geniales.. : 3

  • Hey, anyone know where i can find version from 2003?

  • Can you imagine getting sneezed on by that nose?

  • 8:57

i get the feeling that somethings wrong with this scene lol

  • @Jade10923 same

  • @Jade10923 I actually cringed so hard on that part it cut my lip, lol... those weird Japanese. :P

  • Aw poor astro. :(

  • Tenma is so cruel. :(

  • @UltimateFathoms ;; snif snif yeeeeees!!! too much! poor Astrooo

  • Is that robot humping astro? lmao 03:58 I had to point that out lol I could stop laughing. this is awesome I also seen the 1980's version.

  • This Dr. Tenma woulden't have made a vary good father for Tobio in the first place. He yells and rants and dosen't understand.

  • It's not Astro Boy's fault that Tenma's too dumb to realize that robots can't grow on their own.

  • 6:53 THAT IS TOO CUTE FOR HUMAN EYES!

Look at his wittle face! squeal!

  • can robots sweat????/

  • Funny that the voice acting of this is actually VERY good, while Barefoot Gen, in the color age, was really terrible...

  • I gonna kill to myself! this is so sad! poor astroboy!

the movie is so happy compare wiz the anime

  • 3:58 YOU GETTIN RAPED ASTRO

  • 04:00 WHAT IS THAT BIG ROBOT DOING TO THAT LITTLE ROBOT?!

  • @staffcarguy I'm sorry! I couldn't stop laughing either!

  • Ass charge. Lol

  • OMG! What a horrible father Tenma is. He was the one that let Tobio drive his little robot car in the first place, and then he turns down Atom just because he's a robot. One of the things I liked about the recent movie, was that Tenma wasn't as bad as a father, and accepts Astro as his son.

  • ....tenma i hate u >:(

  • Could you dubbed in spanish also Winge.... thanks very much

  • @ozzi4everbol Sorry, I only have it in english and japanese... :(

  • @WingedMushroomOfDoom .. mm que mal... my no entender nada.. pues bueno no me queda otra que imaginarme lo que dicen Xp

  • @andreitate She's saying she's proud of watching the first anime of astroboy, and thanks to that, japanese animations of nowadays are cool

  • @WingedMushroomOfDoom I could dubbed in spanish it but i would need your permission. BTW Great work you did uploading this anime. =) Subbed you.

  • @SHEPAULI Yeah, go ahead!

  • At 8:39, that little boy robot looks almost like Tink from Princess Knight.

  • @CartoonPrincess same creator- note* in the 80's version Tenma is more realistic in that he makes mistakes and regrets them (Astro runs away when Tenma disowns him for his accidents- he didn't know his own mistake- but then finds himself running around calling out to Toby for forgiveness......)

in the 03 version he actually somewhat of a villain (wtf!?! right?) who later makes amends with Astro

  • @sayastra Tenma a villain in the 2003 series makes sense if you follow the Manga. There was an arch in the manga where he was kind of a villain. He screws with Astro's programming to make him more vicious and anti-human in hopes it would make him be able to rule the world. It was a short arch but it was there

  • @Dragonrider1227 I have the first 3.....they didn't manage to hold my interest all that well

  • @sayastra ah, to each their own. It was the Manga that got me into the series in the first place

  • This is the one plothole that really bothers me. Dr. Tenma shouldn't have been able to legally sell Astro as he was created by the Agency of science. It like the head of NASA selling off a space shuttle.

  • my god tenma u putted metal skin onto astro!! jesus!

  • No ma! Asi era astroboy?? Es muy cruel esta version! ;_; Pobechito. Y eso veia mamá! xD

  • that circus dude looks like a pervert.

  • Golem looks like the robot Astro first faces in the movie, ya know the fight torament

  • This is why industrial robots in Japan belong to unions.

  • 8:56 - Errrrm?

  • I guess they did things differently those days, but again I can't help but find it innopriate when they put something cartoony and comical right in the middle of an otherwise serious scene.

I mean,Tenma's proclaiming his rejection for astro Boy (Or should I say Atom?), and then he's comically rolling down the hill and gets smacked with a birds nest full of eggs.

I suppose it's kids show and they don't want it too upsetting, but it 'breaks' the scene somewhat, if you know what i mean.

  • @MissMysterics if you read or watch anything that Omasu Tezuka has created you know that is what he does.He can swing the story from being too silly and comedic to be taken seriously and then too intense and disturbing to be taken lightly.and yet he makes it all work. One very good example of this is the brilliant Buddah.Theres a fair amount of goofiness to alot of graphic violence and sexuality and it just all works to make a real poignant story which only a genius like Tezuka can create.

  • @MissMysterics Well, these are pretty much taking Tezuka's comic as a storyboard. I just read it. Some things that work better and fit better with Tezuka's style of comics storytelling is a little jarring in animation because it's so much more continuous.

  • Is it just me, or was that horrible A.I. movie (that Spielberg made a few years ago) a complete rip-off of Astro Boy?

  • ROBOT RAPE at 3:58!!! LOL

I also think it's pretty funny at 0:47 when Astro lets Dr. Tenma go and he goes rolling down the hill. X3

  • about "ROBOT RAPE" what about this? 8:56

  • Oh, yeah, that looks kinda funky too. O.o

  • how come all i see in the 60's film are funny

  • tenma is a bad father why was tobio in a car in the first place? now he's selling astro he doesn't deserve astro

  • We need to pick up HamEgg and beat Tenma to death with him. Why does Ochanomizu keep sneezing like that? Does he have a cold? Or is it because he has a big nose?

  • No, Ochanomizu doesn't have a cold, lol, but if you saw the english dub version he says" I'm Sorry, but, whenever i get mad i sneeze, and this makes me mad", lol

  • LOL I see

  • i know lol, but the japanese one sounds better though, lol

  • indeed. The Japanese always gets better actors. They just take it more seriously than we do

  • hey wingedmsuhroom, thanks for uploading the 1960's version of astro boy, could'nt find it anywhere,it's a good series.

  • Yeah, I couldn't find it anywhere either. That's why I uploaded it! :]

  • yeah, i saw the 1980's and 2003 versions but not this one, but thanks again for uploading it.

  • where i cant find 1980...im still watching 2003

  • if you are looking for the 1980's versiobn, look up astro boy 1980 episode 1, but if the whole first episodee's nott there, go to episode 2

  • Hears the reason why Astro did not grow up :

    He isn't organic.

  • tenma's a dick.

  • Yup!

  • @WingedMushroomOfDoom i have a question, was this episode dubbed in english, and was this ever made in color?

  • @TheGeekplayer Yep, this whole series is dubbed. It's on my channel if you're interested. It wasn't done in colour though. They actualy did one episode in colour (for some reason), and another episode has the backrounds in colour while the characters are still black and white. But aside from that, it's all black and white.

  • @TheGeekplayer They did a re-make of the series in the 80's that's in color. The English dub of this original 1960's series is HEAVILY edited b/c the show was considered too serious for children, and too "Japanese"

You'll see what I mean if you watch both versions...

  • @totoro1591 But even the 80's version is pretty sad.

  • @captainsunder009 I meant watch the 1960's English dubb and compare it to the Original Japanese cartoon from the 1960's... I haven't actually seen the 1980's version, I just know of it.

  • @totoro1591 Ok.

  • I agree. Tenma must DIE!!

  • I'm really glad that Dr. Tenma in the new movie isn't quite the way he was back then. I mean, in the end of the movie, he took him back, but here, he just sold him and left it at that.

  • Seriously! I thought story wise it was a bit of a cop out to not have him come back afterwards

  • I agree, Tenma was a lot better in the movie. His acceptance of Astro was the movie's emotional high point.

  • wow is Dr.Tenma mean? poor Astro or Tobio

  • that's not a hip at 8:57 it's a butt cheek

  • LOL

  • lawl

  • of course this is his awakening

  • Aww, this Tenma is so cruel, the 80's one is nice and the latest one is crazy-weird. Poor Astro, if Tenma wanted him to grow up he should have given him upgrades!

  • @6709LeftzBehind didn't the 80s one also sell him to the circus in the non-north american version though?

  • Somehow, hearing Astro plead to Tenma in Japanese makes it worse :( Probably because it has better actors

  • @Dragonrider1227 Mari Shimizu (the person who voices Atom/Astro) is a good voice actress, isn't she? She also voiced Atom/Astro in the 80's color remake too.

  • @CartoonPrincess15

She was? That's awesome! The Japanese are good for re-hiring voices for the same role.
