  • I always liked the smell of the Garden Center in Kmart, reminds me of summer.

  • k mart sucks now..

  • I love kmart too

that is why I work there in nj

  • i loe kmart and sears too i work here in the island of puerto rico

  • ahh kmart now owns sears would you beleive that.

  • If you try and bring that glove in and return it at a K Mart nowadays the clerk wont speak English and yell at you in tounges

  • Blame it on the glove, not on the fact that you got the glove nowhere near the ball.

  • Remember when you were embarrassed if other kids knew you got clothes from K-Mart?

  • THEY SCREWED YU OVER LITTLE BOY! lol

  • KKK Mart where youll never catch a mexican trying on hats .

  • Good ol' 1984.

  • @barnesfam yeah

  • BITCH I NEED A NEW GLOVE THIS WILSON IS PISS POOR

  • Wow, the cashiers at KMart used to speak English? What a trip.

  • 'this lady working at the kmart as casher register,,,

    her name is lorna morgan

  • Kid, you just suck at baseball.

  • Commercials were fun back then!

  • '

who is this lady on 021 to 023,,,

    what her name

  • @bestamerica your mom :D jk

  • Kmart sucks

  • Boy that chick between 0:20 and 0:23 is gorgeous.

  • Wal-Mart is spanking everybody now

  • I hope jaboootydubs will do overdubs of these old shitass commericals.

  • K-mart ain't what it used to be. They took out the slurpy machines.

  • retard kid is retarded

  • Do they still have the little cafe's at K-Mart? They no longer do at mine and I didn't know if they still existed anywhere.

  • @Railfan2103 nope they cut them everywhere. didnt even place something in them, judst empty dark creepy corners in the store. some have a little ceasars though....

  • Music in commercials just never, ever changes.

  • That kid woulda gotten his ass kicked out of the store in real life...then they would have called social services on his parents for letting a little boy that age walk all the way to K-Mart unattended! LOL!

  • @Mysterycat74

Well, we ranged far and wide as kids in the 70s, pretty independent!

Anyway, was that Tracey Ullman helping the kid or what?

  • The kid faulty not the glove

  • if that was me the bitch would tell me to fuck off. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT

  • FALSE, the woman at a counter would be a very tired black or hispanic woman.

  • @kaiserwilhelm LOL! YES!

  • I think that kid plays for the Pittsburgh Pirates now.

  • nice one. hahaha doesn't catch good my ass

  • What player?

  • I went to K-Mart last night and tried to return a basketball because it hardly ever went into the hoop. The person at the counter tried to convince me that it my MY fault! The nerve! Anyway, I hope the new one works better.

  • I wouldn;t trust to buy a ball at Target or Meijer either.

  • ...it wasn't the glove's fault, that kid is gonna annoy the hell out of that salesgirl

    "WHAT?! WHAddaya want this TIME?!"

    "...th...this glove didn't catch well"

    "Oh BOO HOOO!"

    I mean seriously...sheesh!

  • I can't believe his parents let him go to K-Mart by himself. I know it's only a commercial, but back in 1984, child abduction was the moral panic of its day, and memories of Adam Walsh's murder were very fresh in all our minds. Kid looks like Adam, too. It was a great time to be a kid, but also unnerving. A kid in my neighborhood was lured out of his bedroom by a stranger and was never seen again. I'm ranting, I know; but the commercial brings back a lot of bad memories.

  • Just out of curiosity, but what was the name of this kid? And where did it happen?

  • I used to buy 99 cent 45's at Kmart in the 7th grade!

  • we used to go to Kmart every Friday night as a family. That was our night out. Woo hoo! I remember buying Strawberry Shortcake dolls there. Too bad it's not there anymore...just Walmart down the road. How the heck did if fall apart?

  • It fell apart because they got so big. Remember, it wasn't just Kmart -- but at one time it was Waldenbooks, Builders Square, and a multitude of other businesses. They literally collapsed under their own weight -- it was too big. Nobody knew what anyone was doing.

Today, Sears and Kmart -- what a combination and who would have thought it? Though they are showing signs of life, and Kmart is coming back strong as of late thanks to layaway. So let's hope they can find their new niche.

  • @robertstinnett So i hope your saying Kmart is in and walmart is going out ?

  • @GLElite I know this was 2 years ago but..K Mart still is around. Just not very many of them and the funny thing is, they have way better fashions, shoes and prices than Wal Mart.!!!! I'm hoping they will make a come back. Wal Mart was good years ago. Now they are awful and their merchandise is made cheap- yet expensive. The clothing line is terrible!

  • i used to jack mad shit at the k-mart in anaheim, ca. karma then struck when i got my bike stolen there too. bhaaaaaaaa!!!!

i almost cried. it was one of those new huffy's with the shock forks...LOL

  • lmao!! I remember here in PA , our local ACME, LOL, having drawings for Huffy and this pink and purple ten speed, I'd put like 100 entries in and I still lost, lol

  • haha!! damn that sux...

  • amy, i cat believe you fell for that ballot thing. The winner was already picked.

  • to ceppy: back in '80's parents didnt worry about their kids cause we didn't grow up on americas most wanted scare tactic shows - only thing we were scared of was Russians attacking. Ganster rap and crack rock wasn't out yet and Eminem is the little boy w/o a mom - it was all good to be a lil white boy.

  • Mom bought a Bert halloween costume for me at K-Mart. I wasn't to fond of it and she said she'd take it back to the store. But I felt bad for K-Mart & Mom if she were to return it. So I decided to go along with Halloween 1990 as Bert the muppet.

  • @evan22303 Cute story. How was Halloween '90 for you ?

  • I used to be save my meager allowances and buy my transformers from kmart when they were actually viable.

  • that boy now works in the pharmacy at walmart.

  • What a shame! Kmart is still the best!

  • And Better than Walmart

  • I remember putting my John McEnroe tennis racket on lay-away in 1984. I was 12.

  • Dad was too drunk to take junior to K-Mart

  • Dumb kid didn't even have the receipt, and where the hell was his Mom? Maybe the reason why he can't catch is that Daddy is never around to teach him how or to take him to K-Mart to get a new glove. I hear the white van with candy inside rolling down his street.

  • You should chill out, its only for entertainment.

  • Great job maybe everyone needs a second chance.

  • Maybe the problem with the catcher's mitt is with the catcher

  • K-Mart and I go way back. I used to score my Star Wars action figures at that place! w00t!

  • Now that Kmart has given the Blue Light, every

one shops The Savings Place with confidence.

  • I love Kmart!

  • Hey....I was that kid....

    Later

  • Haha. Dats koolio!!!! =) =D

  • @trex65ghia Yeah? Prove it, please.

  • This commercial shows how cheesy the 80s were.

  • Why is everybody thumbsdowning this comment? The 80's were totally tacky. I should know because I was there and plenty old enough to realize how much that decade sucked.

  • Still, it's much better than this decade!

  • If any decade is to be labeled as tacky, it should be the 90's. No explanation needed.

  • 1984 was the 90's?

  • lol back then they were the "Offical sponser of the U.S olympic Team".....now their a hobo bussiness.

  • I was probably the same age as that kid back then.

  • i miss the 80's!!!!

  • me too!!

  • I actually kind of liked this commercial!
