And I doubt there will ever be a case of machines vs machines as that would mean two conventional, high-tech nations fighting. Machines are built to have an uncompromising advantage over a human opponent. Without humans getting killed, lives would not be lost, and lessons wouldn't be learned. Besides, why stop at machines fighting? Why not go a step further and do virtual battle?

@mranenome There is no ground control link needed. Most of these are programmed before flight to do or fly somewhere then return. There are ways to control the UAV after takeoff, rerouting it for example... that could happen. BTW, remember the video being "hijacked" from the US drones, just takes a smart guy with alot of time to hijack the rest.

The human piloted planes we build are much more impressive from an engineering standpoint..because by virtue they have to keep an actual human alive and somewhat comfortable while operating in extreme scenarios. And I doubt there will ever be a case of machines vs machines as that would mean two conventional, high-tech nations fighting. Machines are built to have an uncompromising advantage over a human opponent. Without humans getting killed, lives would not be lost, and lessons wouldn't be learned. Besides, why stop at machines fighting? Why not go a step further and do virtual battle?
