As chrisyang here lamented, things like the Confucius Temple at Qufu are now reduced to mere tourist attraction sites for a certain authoritarian regime to make money out of. They're no longer maintained by a people who value them as part of their rich cultural legacy and therefore seek to preserve them with their own expenses.

The old sage is probably turning in his grave.

Very well made and educational. Thank you for uploading this video. This is a beautiful and mysterious place. I have been there. It is very similar to a Buddhist Temple, but it of course is not one. It is hard to explain, this video does a good job of describing this place. Qufu was very memorable to me out of many places in China. It is a small place too, and dusty...
