  • the brakes are just SO BAD

  • just cuz it was made in in america doesnt mean its better than anything built in Japan. America doesn't have shit on the japs engineering.

  • @14cichlid Yep I trutly admire Toyotas blandness that they have progressed across recently.

    /Sarcasm

  • @14cichlid Actually this car is made in Australia. It's basically a Holden Commodore with a Corvette engine and Pontiac badge.

  • @TheTallMan35 Wait a sec mate, who owns Holden since 1934? Oh yeah- General Motors (from the USA duuurrrh)

What does GM make? your holden engine. your holden body, the pontiac body, chevrolet body etc

that's why these pony cars lookalike a LOT.. same company, what could you expect dude

  • @Sven2Perroy nah holden in austrailia actually designs a lot of chevy usa's platforms

  • @Sven2Perroy Since 1934? Funny, considering Holden came to life in 1947 & it's first car (known as the FX), was produced in 1948, hence the actual name of the car being the 48-215.

Holden spent their own money, not GM's, on the factories, robots, tools, designs, sheetmetal, structural & architectural work & the Zeta platform. Holden designed & built the entire VE range.

Holden is more important to GM than the government aided funding they received.

  • @Sven2Perroy Also, on a side note. The 350 V8 was designed & built by Holden. They just didn't have the money to mass produce it, so it was sold to GM's Chev division.

So when the 350's were dropped into the 70's models Kingswoods & Monaros & then again in fuel injected alloy form in the series 2 VT onwards, it was, technically speaking, just coming home.

  • How can you hate on this steering wheel? For anyone that has never felt it, its sex for your hands!!!

  • Love this car.. just hate the clear tail light look.. its not a fuckin nissan altima

  • my teacher at my school has a g8. i wanna fucking steal it!

  • Nice looking cars, that and the G6, but there is something to Business Man about them. Looks to much like a suit and tie lawyers car. But wow, never knew it had such power. Impressive.

  • Bring Back Pontiac!!!!!

  • I wonder if GM will ever come up with something else to match the g8 here in the states? Just got me a g8 gt but would love to see gm give dodge and those ugly new chargers some competition

  • @113JUNIOR1187 I believe they were planning on bringing the G8 back as a Chevy, perhaps a Caprice of some sort.

  • @PantstofryPWNZ They are bringing them back as the 2012 Caprice, for police departments only. But that doesn't matter, they never stopped selling them here.

  • the discontinuation of Pontiac's was a crime...seriously.

  • It's JOHN! WOOO!!!

  • I'm very happy with my GT.

  • He's been around for 30 years already.

  • John !!!!! you still alive !!!!! :O

  • the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8/ Holden VE Commodore/ Chevrolet Lumina/

    Chevrolet Omega was assembled in

    Elizabeth, South Australia, Australia

  • Wow this thing weighs 4050 lbs? Really? That's a shame they couldn't have made this thing lighter. Also looks like there's quite a bit of body roll in the video. But for what it is, it does look like a good performer that could serve double duty on the track and still haul the kids to school in.

  • ive drove a bmw and own a pontiac g8 gt for the money the pontiac kicks ass

  • Comment removed

  • @Mockingbird5150 as a "stupid american" i can honestly say that these didn't see due to lack of advertisement.sounds stupid to you im sure but i can't recall one pontiac commercial but can remember several honda and toyota commercials

  • beautiful car.

  • I'm glad they made this instead of a 4 door corvette. ugh could you imagine?

  • it's a shame that the Pontiac marquee folded. the G8 was a sexy-ass car! now my 20 year-old ass can only buy one in the used car market. or better yet, i should just move down to Australia and buy the Holden Commodore >_< :P lol. oh well

  • I swear this car has been softened for the US market. I'm not sure, but the SS's over don't seem to have that much bodyroll as present on this car...

  • @nithPS2 huh? about 40,000 sold..

  • i laughed so hard when he said that pontiac was GMs performance division LOL!

  • kill the annoucer pls

  • I want

  • I swear I can't stop watching this video. I watch it like twice a week. Alothough I have the 06 Grand Prix GXP, and not any of the G8 models, I still love the G8s. FPPF (Forever Pontiac Pontiac Forever).

  • Pontiac's finest!

  • I need a change of pants.

  • trust me i hate gm with a passion but pontiac is such a awesome brand R.I.P you will be missed

  • Holden Holden big deal owed by Gm. I really like Down under motor sports total off the hook. (thats good) but all this talk about Holden and G8 is Aussie and all that , whats the problem with Australia, The engine is Chevy US the trans is US the diff is US gear. and when I worked at Chrysler Engineering we always engineered powerplants for your vehicles so don't you guys do mechanical development down under? Just screw together our parts real nice and drive the hell out of them.not complaining.

  • Pontiac is Gone, but what about Holdan?

  • @halflife103 still going strong

  • Im true ford nut, but that car has some gonads. Sorry to see the brand go.

  • @fairlanejay Rumor is that GM will be reviving this car but it will be wearing the Impala nameplate.

  • Dude i raced one today and ill tell you this, they arnt as fast as they are saying... :/

But it is huge car, it looks like it weights 4000lbs, the one i saw was all black with black rims.

  • @TorqueMachine

My bro has one and its fucking fast as hell he got up to 93 with his snowtires on in 1/8 of a mile

  • @TorqueMachine You sure you were "racing" ? That does imply that the other person was serious. Dicking around on the freeway, he might've been holding back. I've seen them do some pretty crazy moves at an autocross and then go and keep up with vettes on the strip.

  • @themanwithsauce i would believe so, unless he was cruising at 120 mph then slowed down to 35 mph

  • thats a holden VE commador fully built and tested in austraila we send cars over to u guys

  • @v8luver64 Commodore! YEESH!

  • @Mcmerc01 cant forget commador lol

  • man if it weren't for gas I would so get one

  • they got 13.2 out of it so I'll be seeing them do 13.5 to 13.9s at the strip just like I see the LS2 the gto. but I bet this will be consistantly faster (slightly if at all) than the LS2 GTO. Nobody seems to be able to launch them. I'm a Pontiac fan tho but oldschool yo

  • lol you know for sure the old man aint the one driving the car

  • i own a 97 taurus sho v8...so u would think that i would naturally want to buy the new sho, the new sho market was aimed at the owners of the gen1 and gen2 sho's witch us v8 guys dont really get respect from. so "f" the new sho with its v6 tt awd. i want an american 4dr muscle car. its a nice car but...i like a v8. my nxt purchase will be either the new 302 boss or a used gxp. $45k for a 4500lb v6? na.deff not the new charger either. the g8 is a beast on the street.

  • Whatever the hell it is those Australians are making, I WANT IT!!! This car is fucking sick!!

  • the gxp is shit compared to holden'a HSV E-SERIES 3 (their tuned out commodore/g8). Check my channel for 2 vids on the HSV E-SERIES 3 GTS.

  • Damn I wanna trade in my Grand Prix GXP, for any G8 so bad. They are just to expensive for me still.

  • JUST FUCKING DRIVE THE CAR

  • They should've put a ram air on this. That would have made it a little more bad ass.

  • I love this car! RIP Pontiac. I really miss my 4th gen fbody

  • @APBGrrl What happened to it?

  • @Thesuperblack22 oh sorry i was just saying in general that I miss my 4 body. Traded for a C5 last Sept... i did not crash it or anything- as a matter of fact the body was in perfect shape, just one tiny tiny door ding which you couldnt even see except on a certain angle. Had less than 90k miles on it as well but started to become a money pit

  • A jewel of a drivetrain with an ugly (screams Pontiac) Robotron plastic crap looking body wrapped arounf it. What a shame and good example of why Pontiac no longer exists.

  • @smithraymond09029 2 words FUCK YOU!!!! P.S. PONTIAC WAS THE BEST MUSCLE CAR PRODUCER!!!

  • @DudeWithTheGoat And two words to you too: up yours. I prefer domestic cars over import but this is the company that makes cars that all looks the same. They all have the same front end styling from the early 1990's. Sad to see.

  • @smithraymond09029 It has almost the same shape, but not same design. It's been improved over the years, and looks way better than the ones in 1990's. Yes, they have changed over the years, and they do not look all the same.

  • @smithraymond09029 retard you say the Aussie's design for the VXR8 is ugly?! shame on you

  • What the fuck did John Davis do to himself? Jesus.

  • @shatchett0 Maybe he moonlights as a chimney sweep.

  • It's a bargain. Gonna be a classic.

  • I'm glad that it was made as a Pontiac. As Pontiac was allowed to fail, I have no problem owning any car from this particular GM brand.

  • The Pontiac G8 GXP is a sick car. Interior is nice. 6.2 Liter LS3 V8 Sounds like an engine of the retired Pontiac Firebird.

  • Oh man I want one so bad.

  • Grrrrrrrr Bring back Pontiac!

  • so bad ass. it will return as a chevy, but for now, only as a police car :(

  • has anybody else heard about a rwd impala

  • apperently GM will import the G8 again with a Chevy Badge... I don't know where I've heard it, but I think it was MotorTrend Magazine...

  • omg he changed his clothes finally XD

  • i want the holdens in the US again

  • Nice looking car. Awesome performance!

  • This looks way better than our SS-V Commodore.

  • take a commodore that does look quite good and remember that is what it is, send it to america and with a few basic rebadging mods now nothing on this car looks right, they cant even get it to sit properly,,,thank for the donk leave the rest to Australia....

  • if the G8 where to run with a S4...

wait that'd never happen, nobody in europe would buy these

  • Good, non-biased review. Our commodore should be back in the states soon! Hopefully.

  • dont worry guys this car is coming back as the chevy caprice

  • @tuugfo The Still make the lumina and caprice But over seas

  • Shit dawg, why did GM chose Buick over Pontiac ;(

  • @bobyoung53 Thats a random name. G8 GT/Holden Commodore is still my favorite car. if i thought that the G8 was boring, i wouldn't even think of uploading G8 GT commercials at my channel

  • @bobyoung53 hmm...lol i said Cts-v's are boring. Charger isn't exciting but commodore does.

  • What a swan song it was sigh.

  • @bserell No, the dumbest thing GM did was accept Bailout money.

  • Go Australia! worlds greatest grocery getter! freaking awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • I suspect that this car actually has the Walkinshaw exhaust rather than the standard HSV one. It just sounds alot more aggressive.

  • One of the best sports sedan ever made by GM.

Atleast we still have the CTS-V

  • @4MATICbenz Im glad we still got the cts-v

  • @4MATICbenz carlson saab 9000 is better saver and faster.

  • @4MATICbenz There's word out today, that GM will be brining the G8 back as a Chevy! And will keep almost the same look, but with the bowtie. As far as the 6.0 V8 being offered, they didn't say whether it will remain, or get another one.

  • @4MATICbenz wait,ha,ha! I ment to say 6.2 V8. Typo from my last comment,ha,ha!

  • @4MATICbenz unfortunately for a lot lot more and it's not a pontiac :(

  • @4MATICbenz look it up. it was taken from the Aussie's AMAZING Vauxhall Holden VXR8. The Bathurst is a supercharged version. thank the aussies for this thing!

  • @4MATICbenz lmao the CTS-V is a joke. My '97 SSEI is better than a POS Caddy.

  • Comment removed

  • @4MATICbenz would not want to dissapoint you.. This sedan made in Australia and GM just happen to be a parent company.. so as it goes in 65% of all cases with GM they just add a V8 to it and Boom! another satisfaction from "american Car Manufacturer" !

  • @SergeyVA , I know it's an Australian car, but GM has subsidaries in Britain, Germany, and USA. Just because it isnt North American doesnt mean it isnt a GM product.

  • @4MATICbenz And it's Australian lol.

  • @4MATICbenz Sadly its a Holden which is Australian and ain't no GM.

  • @TheBlessedbabi , Holden is a subsidiary of parent company GM and has been since the early 1930s. Whether you wanna call it a Pontiac or a Holden, it was still a product of GM.

  • @4MATICbenz perhaps. but the only American input is the engine and transmission, which i think are built in Mexico anyway.

  • @4MATICbenz its no GM, silly, its holden!! american cant ever build car look that good

  • @bennychan723 Uh, Holden is part of GM. So it is a GM. Duh!

  • @4MATICbenz Its gonna be hard for them to top the CTS-V I wander whats gonna come out next or what kind of upgrades they will have on the CTS-V

  • I find it funny that the Pontiac exterior has become so popular in Aussyland that Holden as decided to continue to make the design after a "Special Edition" was released just to clear out Pontiac inventory. Kinda sad the economy going to crap killed this car in America. It was a great step in the right direction for GM and Pontiac.

  • its so fukin sad dat ders no more pontiac!!!!!!!!!

  • Sucks! The Holden VXR8 Bathurst is way better!!!! Australia 1 USA O

  • @CARPSPUDPICKER holden does not have a VXR8, its called HSV Clubsport R8

  • @123dodgecharger I think it is actually a Vauxhall.

  • @gerfall its a commodore lol

  • @123dodgecharger Last I checked its a Vauxhall VXR8.

  • @123dodgecharger Holden/Vauxhall/Pontiac are all the same shit though so it doesn't really matter.

  • @gerfall i don't care either, it still belongs to the shitty Gm

  • @123dodgecharger Ur a Dodge fan and you're calling GM shitty? All in all, GM has always found to do big things with less which makes them pretty damn good at designing sports cars.

  • @deezomaxima HEHE, im not a dodge fan. Its a random name i made up. We don't have dodge's in our countries, so no point.

The americans have to leave their car to the Australians to design.. so ya i hate gm lol

  • @123dodgecharger Come on dude, GM isn't leaving anything up to the Aussies. Last I heard the CTS-V was all American and kills every sedan out there. Period.

  • @deezomaxima yeah period. How about the supercharged GTS ?

  • @123dodgecharger What about the CTS-V700? Dude we can go in circles all day long. Lets stick to the topic at hand here.

  • @deezomaxima Looks boring.

  • the traction control and the other safety hold this car back

  • '

    no thank,,,

    i dont like this car,,,

V-8 is too much drinking alot of gas,,,

    not worth it,,,

    big wrong price tag,,,

wrong gas in hole on right side,,,

why not put on 4 than V-8,,,

  • @bestamerica I love how your name is bestamerica and you can't even speak proper english, learn english before you criticize american cars.

  • GanjaDrumma,

    '

dont use 2 words - YOU / YOUR - on me,,,

many people are not perfect in english, grammar, language,,,

some vehicles are good and some not

  • @bestamerica excuse me your is one word thank you. go home jap fan boy

  • GanjaDrumma,

    '

again dont use 2 words - YOU / YOUR - on me,,,

i dont like foreign vehicles if not good design,,,

both americans and foreigns are some bad and some good vehicles,,,

    depend on design about vehicles

  • @bestamerica Becuase 4's are gay and weak

  • @bestamerica

No manufacture is going to put a straight 4 into a full sized sedan. And if you're complaining about which side the gas cap is on, then you really should be driving a moped, or worse - a Civic.

  • shitbox

give me my Calais V Series anyday

  • Fucking GM why?

  • cts-v minus supercharger

  • @mrhett1224 that's what i was thinkin lol

  • piece of shit car! my friend have one and theres just so many problems with the car. no wonder why GM is going down...

  • I like eating apples......

  • this car i coming back as the chevorlet caprice!! just a few more years

  • its like a gto fucked a bmw, sexyyyyy

  • It's just a Vauxhall, rebadged.

  • @EnterMyUserNameHere Try rebadged Holden mate did u not watch the video

  • @tristanh82 You're right actually. Thanks for pointing that out.

  • thank god for holden commodore and australia

  • I just love the silver and black interior. Some custom carbon fibre will be even better.

  • Basically its a nice alternative to a Camaro.

  • i agree get rid of buick before pontiac i mean come on theres no buick this fucking cool!!

  • General Motors should have ditched GMC, and kept Pontiac.

Think about it, Chevy trucks outsell the GMC trucks. You could get a fully loaded tahoe and it would still be cheaper than a yukon.

Pontiac had that performance image which attracted young buyers such as myself.

    Shame!

  • Might be cheaper then a European sedan but it's not as nice, not comfertable and it's way to big and heavy.

  • @29ryan49 You've never had a chance to drive one. I've driven the Australian long wheelbase version, the WM Holden Statesman some 2000 miles. Did the entire trip in three days, and was the sole driver. Had everything at my fingertips, very comfortable, and effortless power. To get the same equipment levels in a BMW or Mercedes, you'd pay up to three times as much. I've driven European equivalents, and am unimpressed considering how much they cost by comparison

  • @Mechknight73 I just wish they made the supercharged 6.2, like in the Bathurst VXR8

  • @29ryan49 Would be a relatively easy upgrade; if you can't find a Pontiac G8, import a Chevy Lumina from Saudi Arabia, and order the parts. The craziest Holden I've seen so far for "bolt on" horsepower is a Holden Special Vehiles GTO coupe (aka Holden Monaro/Pontiac GTO) it had twin turbos, and was dyno tested at 600 horsepower. That's more HP than a NASCAR, and almost as much as a V8 Supercar, the racing version of a Commodore

  • Kinda sucks pontiac is gone, they were really starting to turn things around and become more excitint and performance oriented. The GXP looks sick, especially in red. That being said GM should be history now. Fuck the bailout. We're all a bunch of slaves to the fatcats that run GM, Chrysler, and the UAW.

  • cool car too bad it was axed... GM could have kept the G8 and made a Pontiac Trans Am and just focused on those nitch market cars for the next 5 years... oh well thats what happens when polititions get involved in bussiness

  • The reason Pontiac ended up out of business is because the last 10 years everything they made was just SHIT!!!

I wish they would have stayed the performance brand making cars like the GTO and Trans Am.

    R.I.P. Pontiac

  • @BAflyer12

    Agreed.

If only Pontiac concentrated on beating BMW and Porsche instead of also trying to compete against family cars.

If I were head of Pontiac, that's what the goal would be: limited production, high performance cars and even high performance motorcycles to compete against the very best from Germany, Italy and, in the case of bikes, Japan.

Pontiac shouldn't have been making family vehicles; that's what Chevrolet and Buick are for.

Low point for Pontiac: Trans Sport MINIVAN!

  • @BAflyer12 what about the Boniville and Grand Prix with the 3800 and supercharger? Boniville was a great car... but then again that car went out in the early 2000's didnt it... Like the 89 Grand Prix and the Boniville SSEI of any year.

  • This and the solstice is really the reason I am gonna end up missing pontiac I really hope that this becomes the impala because the current impala is well I'll be nice lets say bland.

  • worse than bland... more like... numb, or loose, in a bad way.

  • Not gonna lie, I think this is an epic car even though it is a Pontiac

  • @Ge0vone epic garbage! breaks so much

  • It is a shame that GM axed Pontiac, in the UK though the G8 GXP wouldnt sell many, since its basically the same car as the Vauxhall VXR8, based on the same Holden Commodore CV8

  • @DarkAngel2504 it would never be sold there because the Vaux IS the G8 and the g8 is the vaux. they are the same car. they wouldnt try selling them in the same markets

  • @atekido Same base car yes, but the Vauxhall VXR8 is a rebadged Holden Special Vehicles VE Club Sport R8. The only things Vauxhall changed were making the speedo MPH, some badges, and some trim bits

  • @DarkAngel2504 Ths "Commodore CV8" as you put it is a mistake. The CV8 is a model of Monaro, and the previous body and chassis base to this one, the VZ Commodore

  • Awsome! Wish I had the money to buy one!

  • I was still hoping they would bring back the firebird but.... x(

  • Cdude121, there is a company out there who will transform a chevrolet camaro into a pontiac firebird transam for you, the engine is taken up to about 900BHP, it gets a body kit, the firebird logo on the hood, and it gets some other transam styling cues....sadly i seem to have lost the name of the company, but i'll leave another comment when i find it out

  • sweetness lol

  • own one, love it, great car, everything is spot on and just all around a great car. R.I.P. Pontiac

  • Does the G8 have an available HUD?

My GTP has one, And I really like and don't want to trade up to a GTX g8

  • @Ihitaparkedcar No, but I'm sure somebody out there could fit one for you

  • the reincarnation of the gto
