Uhhhh unbelievable man you got some serious skills....yowza, I would fly with you anyday. This is the first dead stick takeoff I have seen...hard to watch...but incredible...stay safe man,
Just Aircraft has not changed the design, but I made a few modifications. I made my flaps longer, built my tanks of aluminum, etc. The biggest difference is that this turbcharged motor has much more power.
I often see what degree the slope is and sometimes I step them off to see just how long they are. Mostly I just do this stuff so much in my plane that I have a pretty accurate idea of what is possible.
Do you measure some of these slopes and run the math to see if you can lift off in time? Or do you just wing it? Because some of those take off runs put you awfully close to the bottom before lifting off.
The tires are from Alaska Bushwheel and cost about $2,900 per set. The plane is a Highlander. I actually sold that plane a couple months ago and built a new even better Highlander. A lot of these landings are not exactly easy and that is why I practice a lot. I landed it 50 times today. 500 times in the last 4 weeks since I started flying the new one.
I would have thought that you were an Alaskan bush pilot with those skills, had it not been for desert terrain. You got some big brass balls to do that, I thought you were going to crash a couple of times.
I heard these tires can set you back $4,000? If not, how much do they cost, what brand are they and where can you buy them? Building a Bush plane myself and that's exactly what I want to do. Thanks....
Is the plane with such big wheels can land on a sandy desert???And Is it possible-mute engine work???Special Forces (DELTA,NAVY SEAL,GROM,MJDS) could fly silently at low levels. For example: Landing at night in the desert / road. Rescuing the hostages and fly silently. Is it possible the modernization plane? PZL-104 Wilga,An-2.DHC-3 Otter.
@Sebol811 they are tundra tires, used for landing on river beds and rough terrain. They maximize distance between the prop and the ground for off airport landings. No you cannot "mute engine work" this is a 2 seat LSA. Not sure why you would want to use one of these things for Military work.
Awesome landings. Thought I had done some tasty short field landings in my time but this is reall in a different league ! Makes my balls seem like ant gonads in comparrison ;-)
it was a great video, you build up enough speed you will get lift which is exactly what you did going down hill. You have a good glide ratio on that plane. I thought it was great even inspiring
@XXXVIIIXCIV I apologize, I must not have made the extremely sarcastic nature of my comment clear enough. I would try to explain what I meant by the comment, but I somehow doubt you'd understand.
All i can say is its just a matter of time when your luck runs out. Going down that hill with the engine off. Don't get me wrong i love it but don't take to much for granted. Prop strike, Break a strut, roll over. I hope you do this alone. But really fun to watch you have bigger ones than me.
Little room for error, but when you're this talented, you really know you're alive. I've had some pretty interesting experiences too on my PPL journey!
Incredibly skilled flying! One question though, how do you fit your massive balls into that little plane, and how does that little motor keep your massive balls aloft?
Crazy. Dangerous, but. Wonderful, Marvelous, Incredibly fun for the gifted pilot who performs this. Great. Congrats to both; The Captain AND The producer of the video.Thank You people.
Seems you flirt with disaster way too much just for fun. A Tim Treadwell of the bushplanes. We will most likely be reading of your demise soon in the obituauries.
If I combined every flight I ever flew into one amazing ride, it would still be pale in comparison to just one of your deadstick adventures. Simply epic flying.
