The "ultimate moral authority" is the person who looks at you through the mirror everyday. If you dont want to look at an evil immoral person looking at you through that mirror you dont do that crap. and if you think the best way of understanding something is understanding its origin, then, in order for you to understand yourself you need to understand your "creator" which you asume incorrectly as "god", then to understand god you need to understand its origin, which by your beliefs, has none; thus you cannot understand your god and as god is your religion: YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND YOUR OWN RELIGION.

The things believed at by a religion are not the authors of the religion.
Satan is non-existant for Atheists, thus Satan cant be the creator (of Atheism); that would be like saying Zeus wrote the Quran.
Atheism isn't the denial of the existence of god, it's the non-belief of any god and we Atheist don't perceive anything of your f* religion. So you cant use your beliefs as an argument.

I became an atheist (having been a Xian most f my life), when I decided to seriously study scripture...that & the origin of Judaism. Unfortunately, most Xians don't know the extent they've been had.
After just finishing 4 yrs of bible study & the origins of Judaism, I now challenge Xians, the brave 1s, to examine the research. Discover what the Ugaritic Texts teaches us about the OT and earliest Judaism. They don't of course, bcuz if they did, they'd likely become an atheist!

A physical trait, i.e. moustache, is not a good comparison for a mental state or a life philosophy. If statistically one could say that more of one factions commits a certain act than one from another, then one could look at that faction as a factor in the act. A moustache is just hair, but perhaps people inclined to grow a mustache have similar ideas in certain areas...

For instance, a boy called Sam can't have the intent of killing someone in the name of a unicorn, if he holds the position of rejection of unicorn claims. Christianity has no morality, it is simply obedience to authority, they are doing what they believe they are supposed to because God told them. Last I checked atheism is a negative so it does not demand and particular action, we have morals so everything you listed is covered by our philosophy and governmental system set up by our evolutionary ethic.
And that religion gives two things:
#1. A reason to not value THIS life for the promise of an eternal afterlife.
#2. In exchange for afterlife, the person must be RELIGIOUS, but not exactly a GOOD person. Almost NEVER religion and ETHICS get together.

Religion:
the belief that there is a higher power above and if anybody else doesnt believe in it then you are free to rape, rob, murder, tourture, kidnapp, and molest them.
unfortunately, religious people dont draw the line at other people who believe in a different imaginary friend. that makes them targets for genocide.

This is deluded. Atheists don't believe that a god exists or that a religion is legitimate and just deny it for the lulz. Atheists just don't believe it, period. And it's not just about Christianity (how self-centered!), but about all theism. Also, just because Atheists don't need a book or the word of a god to teach them morality or the difference between right and wrong doesn't automatically make them immoral. I know I have good morals and values and it has nothing to do with any god.

You dont have to be in fear of going to hell in order to be a good person. We *ALL* know its wrong to kill, rape, cheat, etc. Some people choose to do it anyway, but there is no correlation between "SINS" and religion.
If anything, Christians in America are more likely to kill, rape, etc than Atheists are.
A true God wouldnt let imperfect men teach others about the bible. A true God would have let us all be born with the knowledge already, so that infallable men couldnt corrupt us

@mamothcar1 There are no united pentecostal churches in my country. I was indoctrinated into christianity from birth. I never saw any evidence for gods existence and there are no truer believers than children. Aside from that there needs to be some tangible proof for gods existence. People can make mistakes. There are many who claim that the loch ness monster and bigfoot are real and claim to have experienced sightings.

Stephen Harking has recently concluded that the Big Bang was the result of the inevitable laws of physics and did not need God to spark the creation of the Universe, Life on earth came from abiogenesis and progressed through evolution to its present state

@amadain17 contd. There is nothing that points to a creator. There needs to be proof. As Christopher Hitchens said ' extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence'. There is no evidence for god. Now if you add to this the evidence, as highlighted by noted biblical scholars like bart erhman and burton mack, that the bible has been changed over time by politically motivated scribes and large chunks have been added to try to fit the disparate accounts.

Since the ten commandments prohibit theft but not slavery, it apparently offends God if you steal a loaf of bread from a man but it's perfectly all right to force the man to bake bread for you in a hot kitchen with no pay for a lifetime.

@xXJesusIsLordXx No, but the bible is full of references to slavery. Specifically when it is permitted and all the conditions that make it so. Nice way to deflect the conversation from the main point with childish and bombastic theatrics. But then being childish is part of believing in a fairytale.

@xXJesusIsLordXx That's exactly his point. The ten commandments are supposed to be god's 10 big important rules but apearently slavey is not a no no for god. In fact he even tells you how to go about buying slaves how to mark thier ears with an awl. Who you can buy, when and for how much. How long and how hard you can beat your slaves. These are actually in the Bible these are suppose to be things you god wants you to do.
