Holy goosebumps...to be watching this as a sentimental favorite, but not knowing until 40 yrs old that my family's ancestral home is on video. Lovely village, lovely folks, don't want the skull as an heirloom!
Most of the tales sound like Sherlock Holmes mysteries.."The Adventure of the Drowned Squire" or "The Adventure of the Screaming Skull", lol. However, unlike most shows I enjoyed as a kid, this one has aged rather nicely.
Can anybody identify what type of bird is calling at 6:40? I think the second bird that can be heard at 6:54 is an owl. But I could be wrong. Can any bird experts help me?
Back in the day, they didn't even know anything about BACs (blood alcohol levels). I'll bet that squire was so intoxicated that he was already dead before he even hit the waters.
You said it, about that music, Gallery. When I used to watch In Search Of 30 years ago religiously on those weekend afternoons, I would look over my shoulder when they revealed creepy factoids or imagery and the music added. Unsolved Mysteries with Robert Stack on NBC was a great successor to In Search Of with similar kind of docu-drama supernatural format with its own creepy music and all. I miss shows like those.
A little bit drunk?! Lol. That squire is TANKED!

I remember this used to always come on around Halloween time every year. And it used to scare me each and every time.

Secrets of Coral Castle, Oak Island, MAry Celeste, and Ogopogo are Great episodes
Loch Ness, UFO's, Atlantis, are good episodes
I think these ghost ones are silly. There is so much inference, so much assumption. Nimoy makes alot of assumptions as to what stuff is,

Bettiscombe Manor's skull is actually that of a woman who died three to four thousand years ago. It was examined by a pathologist in the sixties.
