Sarah Brightman IS Christine! I don't care what anybody says about her, she was and is the best Christine Daae! Her voice is so unearthly beautiful that it matches perfectly what Gaston Leroux wrote in his book. Love this video! Wish I had been around to see the original production (all others pale in comparison)! Phantom forever! <3

Thank you so much for posting this rare video. My 12 year old is inspired so much by Sarah, we recently went to see Phantom and to be honest a little dissappointed in Christines performace it just seem to lack something, but it was still fantastic.

I also noticed that in performances I had seen recently, the initial 'Think of me, think of me fondly' is sung with Christine's voice alot softer and shaking.

Yes, it's Sarah Brightman.

The first time you hear "Think of Me", it's Carlotta singing. Then, around 5 minutes or so, Christine starts singing it, and it's obviously Brightman's voice.

She was born for this role, unfortunately not enough people realized this. The critics at the time were very harsh. I know she is such a perfectionist, and you can tell. This is a beautifully executed performance.
