Food is food. This is no different then killing millions of other animals such as cows. Slaughtering them is no different. In the end they die and are consumed. In my opinion I wouldn't eat this simply because I'm not too big of a raw fish fan.

@spion00sexyy How is this any more cruel then leading cows or other livestock into the slaughter... in this at least the shrimps are drunk and are less intelligent then livestock anyways. Either way shrimp and meat is delicious if you think this is disgusting, you should just stop eating all animal related products, as well as seafood. animals = food, plants = food. Humans will eat anything within the food-chain if given the opportunity and the will to do so and I do not object. It's the natural order. I've always wanted to try some dog meat or cat. But not shrimp and bugs etc. That just creeps me out.
However, I am in favour of eating dead animals rather than living animals. If they're dead they can't suffer. And they should have had good lives too. Ethical treatment of animals is totally compatible with eating meat.

However I choose to eat meat becuase I am not in the situation where I can eat alternitives. I am not a savage, I purely need to survive. I I coud I would kill animals through natrual or humane means rather than eletrecute them. But I am not in the position.
Shrimp are just like little hydraulic robots. I prefer my food to not be moving, but there are little ethical problems in my view. It's not that different from eating a venus flytrap.
What societies might these be? I may know what your talking about, but it did not strengthen the societies it could only weaken them, becuase there is no benefit of racism. On the the other hand there is not much societical benefit of not being racist other than ethical correctness by most standards.
