The Beings were a great club band at the time but this Good Morning Y-town performance is sacrilegious. Y-town cant live in the past, only glorify it. This kind of thing is killing the cool of the baby-boom generation. The one Youngstown exception is Dennis Seasonsky (Pipers). He must be 60 years old and he still looks and sounds great. By the way, who is the girl? She looks like a Mary Jo that I went to YSU with. When was this show broadcast? The 80's?
A West Sider!! I was a Liberty boy, so we gravitated towards Niles and Warren. I first saw most of these guys when I was 12-13 at the Golden Record and the Freak-Out. Both of which got burned down. I think the Midlothian club was "The Apartment"
Thanks ! Yep The Apartment! How I remember going past it in the car ( on the way to my aunts in Brownlee Woods) and wishing I could get in !
I remember The Freak -Out too,! Where was that one?
Still miss the old days!
My other aunt worked with Ting's wife at Southside Hosp...When they went to LA to record the second album,he brought us back a bag of goodies from Capitol Records LA ! Still have the stuff !
Of course one of the first to get the first album out in Boardman!
This is weird. is the guy that made this video playing the original recordings of this hit over the TV version, cause if this band is made up of all new members, then it can't be them. It's the same as the original of the song.
Kind of odd that the on-camera band is simply miming to the original hit! The song "Nobody But Me" ws first recorded by the Isley Brothers in 1962 but did not become a hit until the Human Beinz came along and took the tune to #8 in 1967-8. Oddly, it was the only real dance track on the "Nobody But Me" album. From that LP came "Turn On Your Love Light," which peaked at #80 in the spring of 1968. The band never scored again. John Richard Belley was lead singer; Ting played rhythm guitar.
Needs another guitar.
