  • civic si eat ss/sc stock

  • yall r funny the cobalt has a super charger and ur talkin down about the civic si it has no power adder Wow a intake or a header when the cobalt has a super charger take the super charger off and line them up there is no four banger all stock to match up wit the si the way it is dont get me wrong i am all in v8's and all but yall talkin crap about the si again line them both up wit the cobalt wit no super charger and c wat happens yall should at least give the si some props

  • @boomboombow19 if you takew the supercharger off then your talking about 4 grand difference in price comparison

  • 2.0 i vtec sweep a supercharge cobalt shame

  • Assumming the person holding the camera ways at least 100lbs, I would believe the "power" or "torque" made by those to bolt-ons are made a non factor. I own a 2000Si and the 8th gens kill me top end. So I agree with the results.

  • it is nto a drivers race stock for stock stock si 15.1 1/4 stock ss mid 14s gearing way better for racing in ss

  • @bergaflickal stock Si's are way under rated, many good drivers get them into the mid to low 14's aswell....

  • @Arayanrevenge completely stock..im sorry but motortrend car and driver road and track have some pretty talented and experienced drivers and if they cant get them 2 touch mid 14s some 20 year old with 3 years of exp isnt going 2

  • @bergaflickal then they are'nt that great at driving...quite a few ppl get them into the mid 14's...even on the abismal all season tires they come with.I was getting into the high 14's with literally no experience drving manual(my Si is my first manual car)

  • @Arayanrevenge video?....the best ive seen the newer body style si hit is 14.9 and only once...were talking completely stock right no exhaust cai etc?

  • @bergaflickal completely stock down to the tires. It is a hard car to launch but after learning a trick to it I cut my 60 fts way down(fom what they were).

  • @bergaflickal completely stock down to the tires. It is a hard car to launch but after learning a trick to it I cut my 60 fts way down(fom what they were). There are videos on youtube I'm sure...most certainly I remember seeing them when I was on an 8th gen website( no longer a member there).

  • @Arayanrevenge i dont see ne videos on youtube and the lowest was 14.9 by motortrend edmunds car and driver road and track ran between 15.0 and 15.2..maybe you had a ringer

  • @bergaflickal trust me(or not) there's plenty of good drivers that hit mid 14's bones stock....launching the car is the hard part, the rest is just quick shifting. You also have to look at where these guys are testing the cars at...let them come to Ennis tx which is a fast track and you'll see the real potential.I believe one guy actually hit a 14.3 stock...on crappy all seasons with the grip of a plastic wheel.

  • i think you raced a ss/na not a sc

  • @Cobaltxssx07 if that were true the balt' would'nt have even stayed next to the Si.

  • alsothis video sucks ass cant see shit

  • turbo cobalt is way beter than sc cobalt

  • I never raced one when I was stock but stage 2 with intake at 17psi I destroy my buddys si with just intake from dig and roll. Those si do rip thoe for not being boosted

  • id like to see it from a dig the cobalt would walk him all day

  • a 16,000 dollar honda oppose to the 8k cobalt ss sc i can find the cheapest honda si ive found is like 13k

  • hahahah keep dreaming dude

i beat my friend by two cars or more and he has an si w/ intake headers and exhaust & i have an ss w/ cai injen so keep dreaming u'll beat an ss hahaa

  • the civics have v tec you idiots common now it was a fare race civics just suck haha

  • na vs sc NA is very good carr

  • It doesn't matter if the civic has a few bolt-ons.The big thing that all of you Chevy noobs are missing is that the Cobalt SS/SC has A FUCKING SUPERCHARGER. Your glowing specimen of American technological prowess was creamed by a car with a smaller engine and no boost. NICE.

  • @oreopenis yes the cobalt does have a suercharger. at the time the civic si was also 5k more expensive than the cobalt WITH the supercharger...

and the engine is not smaller in the civic its a 2.0 like the cobalt. when it comes to mods

ajp turbo kit for the civic (most reliable) 5.5k = 380-420 whp.

    zzp twincharge kit cobalt ss/sc 2.8k = 400-460 whp...

both motors are used in drag cars. they have alot of potential.

the cobalt is cheaper to make fast in the end

  • @oreopenis haha...true...nothing special beating a cavalier though...this must be one of the 197 hp civics though...to beat a ss s/c

  • you know, if honda made a civic si s/c, it would be better than the cobalt ss/sc. and if they made the civic si turbocharged, it would also beat out the ss/tc. honda just doesnt put out tho.... ugh. id much rather have a civic with the same power than a cobalt.

  • maybe you guys should watch my video of me racing a civis si =D the race was befor my stage 2 kit

  • u guys are funny.. you do know that the cobalt was stock and the civic had a few bold ons... y not race stock for stock then see the honda get its ass whiped

  • probably because we didn't just have a stock Si sitting around. The Si had a grand total of 2 simple bolt-ons, 2 friends raced, one lost and one won end of story.

    P.S. - stock vs stock it's a driver's race

  • Dude you have got that right!!! I have a cobalt sedan not supercharged and I can still beat an si. Honda's just flat out suck!!!!

  • haha prolly cause they were laughing at you and not even racing my best friend has a cobalt non supercharged and he cant lay a finger on me,

    P.S. you a fucking retard

  • @silvertib99 loll your talking about an intake. Not much diff!

  • @silvertib99

lol dude, the fucking Cobalt comes stock With a Sc, so if anything its a B.S stock car and the SI still took it with two cheap bolt ons.

  • @esplen2t try but with my few bolt ons i walk the si all day

  • Comment removed

  • 2.2lk sc doesnt exist #1...

#2 a 2.0 sc cobalt is faster than a 2.0 honda... stock v stock and mod v mod

  • i dont care 2.2 or 2.sl0w a B18c smoke it all day all motor baby look up (Type R Civic Or Integra) that tha top of tha line in it's class tha cobalt ss super crap "2.0L" cant come close

  • says who? ill take that bet anyday...2006 SS/SC with a stage 2 kit, exhaust and intake will smoke your fucking japan rice rocket anyday....

  • U fag did u see tha video ur shity ss/sc bull shit got spank hard.. tha SI can run on Rice fuel and save gas and still have more rice tu feed ur girl

  • OK pal whatever makes you sleep at night

  • how about naturally aspirated vs naturally aspirated dumbass

  • @packman4100 your a tool...

how about $ vs $ "DUMBASS" the civic is naturally aspirated and MORE expensive...

thats what this whole car segment is about budget performance.

honda brought a knife to a gun fight

  • it's a bone stock s/c ss, end of discussion. your not going to hear the stock s/c with stock intake over an intake/catless header civic at 8200 rpm with a camera hanging out the window with the wind

  • Looks and sounds like a run against a stock 2.4 auto. Not the SC'd 2.0L

  • the cobalt is NON-supercharged SS (no supercharger sound). Now chevy calls`em sport.. they`ve 2.4 lt and around 175hp. The only one that si can take-on lol..

  • False.

  • so you hear the supercharger bored kid? or you are really just a bored kid?

  • lol stupid cobalt fans you guys are ignorant retards

  • see you got owned twice, i owned you with your stupid n/a vs n/a comment and now you get owned here, and were ignorant...

the si is more expensive then the cobalt and the cobalt owns it in every measurable peformance measure, fine spend 6k to turbo the si properly, and make 420ish whp... spend the same on the cobalt and it will still be less expensive but make probably twice as much power as the si... like i said before...

    STFU NOOB

  • ha yeah right no chevy motor can compete with a honda motor dumbass chevy has to put turbo on there cars just so they can keep up with hondas, lol i find it hilarious that you still back that pos up

  • put a turbo so the balt can keep up? the civic cant keep up to anything in its class, if you read any sort of magazine or online article you would realise that every tester complains about how much slower the civic si is than its competition.

the cobalt turbo traps at 105, the si traps at 95... the best stock 1/4 cobalt time is 13.4 the civic... 14.5ish...

the civic si is a great car, the thing is its slow... too bad

  • hey aajaro tha cobalt ss is tha top of tha line it's class tha civic si is not there's SI,SI-R and there a "Type R" that tha real deal tha cobalt ss is picking on tha civic si (Type R Lil brother lol wut a pussy Chevy are trash) I work at Firestone for 8Yr's I kno how domestic car's are never like them buy them .......Enough said...

  • the type r was also beaten, nopt only that but the cobalt ss 2008 beat the s2000 in every test which is faster than your type are, there i no all motor honda that is faster than teh cobalt ss... ricer

  • dodge neon srt-4 spank cobalt ss s/c lol

  • LOL!! look who`s speaking? honda boy, go put some stickers on your forehead ;)

  • haha the facts are against you and you call cobalt fans "ignorant retards"? You're like every typical honda driver in my area! I role on honda's every day in my cobalt! Let me guess straight outta high school and you think you know everything about cars? You're just mad that a domestic car is beating all you tuner guys.....Wake up and stop being so biased....

  • good race. that was prolly a stock s/c ss cobalt and the si could have been stock or very lightly modded. from a roll its a definent drivers race.

  • Why is my video not up of my cobalt racing the si. ;) they only show it agains big mikes stock cobalt lol

  • i never got that vid. send it to me nd ill put it

  • honda led the way for all the cars that we have now the EVO's STI's, nissan and toyota had some cars out but HONDA put it on the map w/ EF9,so am i a honda head? hell yes.

  • your braging about beating an N/A thats funny. i beat that civic was a DX. haaaaa. "your video sucks".

  • the N/A won..? if your talking about the Cobalt it's supercharged. and yea sure it's a DX with a red tach, noob

  • what difference does it make it its n/a or not? plenty of good cars are n/a, thats no excuse

  • what differnce does it make? all the deffence you ass, if you know about cars you know that you can make more power with a suppercharger or a turbo with much less money. you want to brag go race a EVO or STI,then brag. now if a N/A wins a turbo or a suppercharged car then i say its O.K to brag.

  • first off you cant start calling people "ass" or telling them they dont know what they're talking about when you cant spell things like "supercharger" or "difference". 2nd, you just said it's ok to brag if an N/A car beats (or "wins a turbo car" as you say) a forced induction car right? well thats exactly what happend here in this race. if your going to be posting stupid ass shit like your last 2 comments then dont bother posting here cause its just going to get removed. thanks!

  • wait the honda won, o shit my bad.

  • that right there says it all. you are a straight up dumbass

  • sorry baby its my bad.

  • Sorry bastard if I hurt you by calling your b-friend an ass.

  • its funny that you call him my b-friend.. i dont even know him... hes just someone who hates ignorant people like i do. So if i put an s2000 up agaisnt an Si thats even? Or even my Daily driver sentra against a lotus elise (i4 vs i4) is that fair. The engine has nothing to do with anything, neither does being boosted. weight/power ratio and price are the most important things while comparing cars. That is why it is fair to compare a cobalt ss supercharged to a n/a civic si.

  • Ill put it you and every one ells that hates on Hondas like this. Its sad that you need a turbo or an s/c or a V6 to beat a honda i4. Because with out it, all the cars in its price range like you say, dont stand a chance. S2000 and Si i4.who gives a ishh about price. i am talking about how much power you can make and for how much $.

  • you can say the same thing about the 335i vs the g37, its only faster because of its twin turbos, but $ for $ it will still make more power, unless you want to put down some serious cash, but any car can be made fast with enough $. same goes with the ss/sc, all it needs is 1500-2000$ for 290-300 whp and 300+ wtq. the si has a great engine, but because of the high compression ratio it can't handle high boost, the cobalt's engine can

  • @yelhsa8989a can't handle high boost...I guess the same engine putting down 840 WHP with 39 psi is not handling high boost huh? The numerous internally stock cars with 500+ whp is'nt handling high boost either I guess.....

  • lol that doesn't change the shitty engineering of the cobalt ss/sc....it handles like a piece of shit....has a shitty ass 2.4L I4 which even with a supercharger barely makes 210 horses.....whereas the N/A K20 develops 197 hp and owns face...not to mention the Si outhandles the cobalt in any kind of track situation. The OPTIONAL LSD in the cobalt is the biggest fucking joke ever. It kicks in like halfway through a turn after the POS car already failed and understeered like a fuck.

  • cobalt has a 2.0 not 2.4, and dynos around 215hp and 200tq to the wheels stock where as the si dynos around 175 hp and 140trq stock

  • Si out handles the Cobaltss??

    *looks up nurburing times*

Cobalt ss - 8:22 (hmm, ok)

    Honda NSX - 8:38

    Honda s2000 - 8:39

    Chevrolet HHR SS -8:43.52

    Honda Civic hype-R - 8:47

Cobalt SS - 9:02 (Wet Track)

Honda Civic si - ??? (not foundl) There were many threads about this on 8thcivic webiste, the Cobalt ss hands down beats the Si in every performance category stock vs stock. The only thing the SI has over the new cobalts is the resale value, and reliability perhaps

  • lol not to mention that whatever little performance the SS can dish out...it does with its supercharger...and the new one now with a turbo...the Si does very well with its 100 hp/L N/A K20....and even without forced induction, with just I/H/E and KPro, the Si owns the SS and at the base of it all..if you compare the N/A engines of the Si vs. the cobalt....that it absolutely no competition whatsoever.

  • wow look at you some reading expert, you caught me! want a cookie? Yes i looked up Wiki, Look i get it you cannot see past your little Honda H hanging around your neck and the fanboism is definitely strong in you.

Fact of the matter remains is that VW upped their game with the GTI, GM upped their game with the new SS, even hyundai and fucking Kia are upping their game and where is honda sitting the same lame ass fucking Si with 0 torque at 10000rpms

  • wow look who can use wikipedia..too bad you looked up the wrong car and can't read "Not independently verified manufacturer time"...this isn't the turbocharged SS....lol this SS handles like a retarded kid in a wheelchair. The optional LSD doesn't even help because it barely helps cornering by kicking in after the turn is over and you understeered like crazy.

  • "SS handles like a retarded kid on wheel chairs" -spoken like a true fanboi..

I read a review a while back between a 2006 cobalt ss/sc and a civic si, here are what the reviewers had to say, stock for stock, they placed the Si 3rd the SS/SC 2nd

Dearth of power unless you flog it. Lots of racket, not much forward thrust. Tight little shifter. -Si

Engine has good power; builds strong and steady through the revs. Slick five-speed with short throws. SS

  • Quick to criticize my reading whereas you go and make this idiotic comment

"....has a shitty ass 2.4L I4 which even with a supercharger barely makes 210 horses"

Any dumbass out there knows the cobalt has a 2.0 supercharged not a 2.4 litre i4, that would be the base model SS that employs a 2.4 litre.

Also most of the top notch ring times like the GTRs/ Viper ACRs are all manufacturer time. GM claim they achieve 8:22 with the new 08+ cobalt ss, tell me when honda gets to it w/ a si

  • THIS cobalt ss/sc had almost no discernible advantage over the Si and in most cases it was beaten down by the Si.

  • oh btw lets not forget the shitty transmission honda keeps putting in the Si

My friend has an 09 Civic si and it grinds 3rd gear with just 14k on it. Thats just fail quality right there.

another user on 8thcivic also noted this which is quite common

"i have a 09 and it sometimes grinds going into 2nd, and sometimes in won't go into 6th... but no problem with popping out, but it seems notchy going into gears sometimes"

so dont tell me your Si's are perfect

  • to bring the cobalt upto the performance of a Si in all aspects will cost alot more money than it's base msrp which might be slightly lower than the Si, but the Si's value is so beyond that of the cobalt it's not even funny.

  • so to bring up the cobalt 09 SS performance upto the SI in all respect it would cost a lot more money? yeah I guess getting a 260hp cobalt to match a 200hp SI is going to be pricey lol

  • you are actually the biggest idiot Ive ever come across on facebook. Almost all ferrari's are n/a so if they race a supercharged cobalt its not fair? You're a fool, the civic and cobalt ss are in the same class and both cost about the same, therefore they are comparable. Just because a car is boosted means NOTHING. Especially if its a factory tune. How about turbo diesels, because they have a TURBO does that mean they are fast. you obviously have very limited knowledge of cars. fanboy.

  • You are still an ass, how can you compare a Honda or a Chevy to a Ferrari, a Ferrari is a V8 supper car, V8 vs. V8 i4 vs. i4 forced induction vs. the same. Thats what I meant.

  • ahem..... super ahem.....

  • hahahahaha AND i just realized the Si is lightly modded.... now I definitely know that you are just a big honda fanboy and you actually dont know anything pertaining to cars
