I worked for the federal government for many years. On a federal pension/retirement now. Got a note recently saying that federal employees and their pension/retirement was safe from the financial turmoil in America.
Obama asks the American people to make a big sacrifice now, while he spends 150 million dollars of tax payer money on his grand gala inauguration (10 massive private parties and you aren't invited, but it's your money). He is giving each of his top new appointees a 50% pay raise! While more jobs across the nation are being lost every day. Does that sound like sacrifice? It's not. What he means by sacrifice for the taxpayer to sacrifice, not the federal gov't or it's employees.
Obama is asking the people to make a great sacrifice, when, in fact, the federal gov't should be making the great sacrifice, called stop spending like sailors! But this isn't going to happen in Obama's administration. The American people have been asked to make sacrifices by each president since LBJ in the 60s and it's just gotten worse. Obama is more of the same, but this time, on a much bigger scale. He is a spendthrift and parasite on the people, but he asks us to make great sacrifice!

If you see someone who is a mix of many things (black being one of them) you will most likely just say that person is black. So for most intents and purposes, it's fair to say Obama is a black man. At the very least, he has been treated by most people as if he were black (because at first glance he seems to be) so that has to count for something.

The vast majority of Brits are pleased that you guys in the US have voted his characteristic man in. I hope he can sort out the financial situation both our countries are in.
