Some paki friends here depict block52 and block60 in one word. They are two different blocks dear friend. Currently F-16 Block 60 resides only with the UAE and on offer to the IAF under MMRCA. The PAF has got mere18 F-16 Block52 and already have started to dream of countering Su-30MKI, Sukhois are far ahead my friend.

Since F-22 and F-35 are way too expensive to own, better give all existing F-15/16/18 total makeover. Giving them new tougher frames, engines, radars, avionics, etc with improved maneuverability. Upgrade F-15s to F-15SE/SF, F-16s to F-16E/F and F/A-18s to F/A-18E/F. Americans aren't sending F-22 and F-35 into warzone anyway so why not remake the existing fighters.

@SilentEagles Probably because we look into long term maintenance and practicality. Specifications can't really tell effectiveness of avionics & weapons, practicality, reliability & durability. Buying the plane is one but putting it into air is another story. That is why not many visit the new F-15SE first flight vids whereas PAK-FA, Su-35, Mig-35, EF2k, F-22 & F-35 are reaching dozens of thousands. It's like forgeting fighter with much combat experience while praising unproven fighters blindly

-Upgrades all 222 F-15E to F-15SE

-Upgrades all 646 F-16C/D Block 40/42/50/52 to F-16E/F Block 60

-USN already have 515 F-18E/F Super Hornet. The F-18C/D Hornet should be retired.

Quality is important and so is quantity especially when America is so big that it requires certain amount of fighters to patrol, defend and attack incoming bandits and missiles. Imagine having just 183 F-22s and 400 F-35s with much maintenance and attention needed. How to fend off 1000 enemy Flankers?

@SilentEagles The F-22s & F-35s are built for money draining machine as Lockheed-Martin got greedy. I think Lockheed Martin got the idea from Mercedes & BMW that build cars with min practicality by giving lots of fancy electronics components that are not meant to last long so that the owners will always come back to them for spare parts and service. Same thing can be seen in F-22/35. Why need sophisticated electronics just to open the canopy hatch? Cost more and require more maintenance.

When the F-16 was introduced one of its big selling points was ease of maintenance; the company claimed you could swap a whole engine out in 30minutes. I hope this holds true for these later designs!

UAEAF's F-16E Block 60 is better than any of USAF F-16. It's the first time US has sold an aircraft which is better than the ones we have.

Block 60 has an APG-80 AESA, our Block 50/52 has APG-68 which is not as good.

Their F-16 is better, but doesn't mean they would win either. USAF teaches them how to fly it.

@OlderG0ds bro all aesa is that it can scan for air to air targets as well air to ground targets at the same time. apg-68 you have to toggle brtween air to air and air to ground. if you have air to air already selected then your good. With aesa a pilot can lock on a ground target and while selecting an air target which makes it a mutli role a/c. Apg 68 is still a good radar system just makes the aircraft 1D until its selcted for something else.

Heard that the new F-16E RWR is incorporated with its AESA radar to warn pilots of the missile launchers' location and could even detect certain incoming missiles allowing the pilot to prepare proper defensive maneuvers.
