  • You know, I've been listening to these guys my entire life. No, really, the day I was born was their very first show as a band, and I was there. I was early, and my parents were planning on going to the show anyways, but she went into labor a wee bit early, but hell, when I heard the Dropkick Murphys were playing, who wouldn't wanna come out!?!?

  • Who cares if they aren't all Irish? I'm mostly German, but I celebrate Irish culture more than other Irish-Americans who only take out their heritage as an excuse to get hammered.

  • technially its supposed to be Celtic punk rock not necessarly Irish Punk rock...but dont quote me on that

  • Thanx 4 this great evning in Hannover <3 was just amazing!

  • Great song!

  • cant wait tha see em live in vienna :D

  • i cry for my homeland

  • This one makes me thinks of the danish freedom fighters, who gave their lives to rid my home country of the nazi scourge. Long live Holger Danske

  • I'm not affraid to admit it, but this song brings tears to my eyes. Forget Soul, R&B and the "Great" ballads, this one is an incredible song

  • so awesum.

  • Proud to be Irish American!

  • @xxleandraxx1 most people of united states have irish ancestry

  • They wrote this for my funeral.

  • tear in my eye when i hear this song

  • @therockrules2777 Totally ... shivers each time I listen to it. Possibly one of their best songs, and shows a real growth in their abilities as musicians and writers.

  • Amazing song like a vintage scotch seem to get better with age.

  • i wanna see them in bogota but when?

  • 5 February in Eindhoven, HELL YEAH!

  • best band ever

  • My little 18 month old granddaughter closes her eyes, raises her hands and cries when this song comes on, if you turn it off she gets pissed and wants it played again. It's a song for the soul.

  • UP THE FUKIN IRISH

  • Im Scots Mexican and I love the Murphys BOO RAA

  • sounds to me like pure freedom!

  • ok who's the ONE jerkoff that disliked this video?

  • @jasonejohnson31 good to hear that from you thanks

  • Erin go Bragh

  • @Liam420thug and Alba gu bràth

  • Wow. Nothing more to say. Wow.

  • Ken Casey's genuine heart in his voice is a blessing from God.

  • Whoever disliked this should be punched in the throat. This is by far some of DKM's best work. Absolutely wonderful song writing.

  • Can someone name them all in the picture?

  • @jfrsnjhnsn Top left: Ken Casey, Tim Brennan , Mat Kelly, Al Barr, James Lynch, Scruffy Wallace, Jeff DaRosa

  • @demmarck Thanks, man! You're awesome!

  • This song refers to the battle of Fort Sumter. The first shots of the civil war were fired at Fort Sumter, South Carolina in April of 1861.

However, the song is not about that battle, but rather the horror of that war.

PS: Shiloh was a battle in the American Civil War that took place in April of 1862.

  • As I listen to this song, I cry for the young soldiers shot down on the helicopter transport in Afghanistan.

  • @falcom2012 its not the battle of shiloh its the Civil War of America. note that close to the end it says: No prayer, no promise, no hand of god, could save the souls of the blue and grey! blue as in north USA and grey as in south USA. also note the "1861" near the beginning

  • FUCKING AMAZING!!

  • This song hauntingly and personally recounts the Irish immigrants who fought on both sides of "Lincoln's War." Check out also the great song "Paddy's Lament," sung among others by Sinead O'Connor. Also, the epic film "Gangs of New York," which includes all the above. Millions of us in America had Irish forefathers who fought in that atrocity of a war.

  • beautiful song, i'm gonna say its about the civil war in america and an Irish regiment probably recent immigrants? thats all i could find on it, any other ideas?

  • @JMSmith856 its probably about the battle of shiloh its the closest fit to the lyrics

  • Der dislike-balken is größer als justin biebers penis

  • This is probably the most beautiful song ever made.

  • the person who disliked this should fuck off

  • This is my favourite song!

  • It's impossible to not like this. If you're the one person going around giving all the Murphy's videos a thumbs down, you're an asshole.

  • 22,000 views? Should have 22 million.

  • Sooooo fookin' awesome!!! Finally some long overdue admiration for the immigrants who fought during the Civil War with no choice!

  • I listened to this song for the first time driving in the car and I had to pull over and compose myself and stop crying. Holy crap.

  • such a beautiful song

  • I kinda feel like they should play this at military funerals instead of Taps. Just sayin.

  • woaaa........i love this song !

  • Эта песня мне по нраву!

  • i'm your stereotypical man but this song is bring heartfelt tears to my eyes

  • best song heard in a long time

  • @r3x97
