I'm connecting LCD screen points to the pitch circuit to distort.  Got deep into this one, had to scratch off circuit-board coating to get at some of my points. I'm afraid my bends may be killing the LCD. Seems to be making the same sounds, though. Have to make sure I learn to operate it blind. You'll note that certain connections cause it to wig out (see 1:33). Some spikes are superfluous, as I think some are connected to the same circuit (didn't have a multimeter at the time).

That's nice - foreign toys are great fodder for bending. Most of them sound messed up to begin with. I'd love to see a more detailed diagram of what all this thing can do...
