I tried to jailbreak my iPhone using sn0wbreeze. I followed all the directions and everything was working fine until it came to restore my iPhone on iTunes. It seemed like it was going to work and then a message pops up (something like unknown error). Could this have anything to do with my campus blocking file sharing sites? No matter what I do it still is saved as a zip file! I rename it with an extension of .ipsw and it still remains a zip file with .ipsw at the end! I unistall winzip and it still shows a zipped folder. How can I get it so it has the icon you have and redsnow to recognize it?

@axemodman click on the zipped firmware file and click open with and select itunes sometimes it re associates it

@LittleGreenMonster92 make sure it's the exact firmware version as the one our running on your idevice, and make sure your host file hasn't been tampered with. if your just trying to jailbreak then try redsnow it's easier but it doesn't work for verizon

@SavealltheWhales hold the home button down and plug the usb in, continue to hold the home button for about a minute and it shoulw put it in recovery and then you'll be able to restore. if your just simply jailbreaking then try my redsnow it's easier and better

@786khalids 05.16.01 is not unlockable, if you have your shsh files saved you need to downgrade and redo the process while preserving your baseband

is this what you use if you already jailbreaked w/ redsnow ala your untethered 4.3.2 video? ie, if you already have Cydia and some apps that would otherwise be deleted if you used the redsnow method again...
