  • How are they > i have herd that they break easily etc..... because they are so cheap everyother product that uses the same features with machine faders are $500+ more expensive....

  • Hi, how do you connect all these units together, through midi? and does it work effectively?

  • Those are some noisy faders...

  • Midi Controlers are waste of space!

  • Hey how much do these actually help in mixing? I'm only 16 so I don't make very much money but I love recording my band and friends so I spend a lot of time mixing and on my computer with Pro Tools? Do you think it would be worth it for me to invest in one of these?

  • how do you connect them all to the computer?

  • Can you actually mix with them? Or do you just use them for display sequences lol?

  • @weedster999 you can mix.. they are DAW controllers so you control the software with them.. you can record automation and what I like about them is when you load the session they load up the session settings so bam you can start mixing a new session just by loading it up

  • @spongah How did you get them to work in succession like that instead of them all being individual? Is that through the DAW or the mixer itself?

  • @spongah Dude, that guy was being ironic! He wasn't asking seriously. :-P

  • from all the videos of control surface and interface. I love this video so much.

I have a some questions if you don't mind to answer them.

    1. I'm starting to setup my own home audio/video editing studio.I have final cut studio. Can I connect the control surface to an audio interface and then from the audio interface to the computer?

    2. Do I have to get a separate analog mixer to connect more in or the control surface does the job as a mixer?

Thanks for your time, and your wisdom.

  • Yo how did you get three working, im using abelton live and ive done two.

  • You don't write your own automatons to do this, do you? Is there somewhere that you can download these files?

  • Thought you were going to actually mix with them D:

  • That makes a studio a STUDIO! /sarcasm

  • Geez I always thought just the one was noisy, three at once must be crazy loud in the room >_<

  • Man, they're noisy...

  • heyy dude i wanna know how to link these three and use them in abelton live any idears please reply even without the answer!!???

  • how did you create those sinus-curves? just got my first BCF2000. makes fun to work with and I'm sure I'll get more of them :)

  • @baritonefellow yes it's does work for protols. In YouTube search type " bcf 2000 and protools"

  • are they cascaded? you connect the fisrt one via USB and the rest of them via MIDI? or are they indicidually USB connected?

    Thanks!

  • *APPLAUSE*

  • you're such a goof haha

  • I have one like this ! Great thing!

  • 1 via usb 2nd linked via midi

  • EXCELLENT... Midi Riverdance :)

  • haha :D

  • I have the white one :D:D:D

  • man thats cool, how did you get it to do the patterns? i have one, how do i make a little wave on just one? or did you do it in your DAW?

  • I was told that i could control all the parameters of my Alesis Micron's programs with the BCF2000... is that true? (i'm sorry if that a stupid question, i'm a total newbie in the Synth/MIDI/Controller world)

  • Hi. I'm thinking of buying one of these but i'm not completely sure how you'd set it up to write automation, as it doesn't have touch sensitive faders. Is there a button you hold down while moving a fader or something?

  • awesome mate! just made me want to get more of these bastards :D

  • I am getting one of these and i have a desk similar to the one you have in this video, in that it has an upper shelf for the monitor to sit on. so i would be able to slide the bcf2000 underneth this shelf to creat desk space when not in use. But this area on my shelf is about 3 3/4 inches tall, but specs on the bcf2000 say that its 4 inchs tall! Question: Can you messure the height of your bcf2000 from the bottom to how high the top rottory knobs are and tell me if it would fit into this space?

  • Hi, can you show if is there way to connect 2 or more behringers, in series that they would act as 1 single 24 tracks device controller?

is it possible to do so using only 1 usb cable?

as experience, when I press preset/bank, it changes the preset in the behringer BCF, but not the tracks in my daw (cubase 5) my idea is like if I just press bank in main unit all the units would follow the cmd moving the faders from trck 1-24 to 25-48, just in single button push. how can be done? hope u get me

  • whats the purpose of this video?

  • Comment removed

  • wait...if the computer moves them atuomaticly, whats the point of having slider bars?

  • @bradthegeeknet so when u load a song it moves them to where they are for that song and you can record movements during the song then it plays them back real time

  • It's a midi controller, No one needs to know how much you think Behringer sucks. It is a DAMN DECENT control surface and nothing more.

  • can you tell me how to do that

    inbox me

  • Seems like a good waste of fader motor life :)

  • @statikregimen it got me 100,000 views on youtube :D

  • @spongah Touché ;)

  • @spongah Hope you got some dough outta that lol!

  • do this mixer work with protools

  • Great set spongah! Thank you for mentioning our prduct in the making of your video. Anyways, we've subscribed to your channel and we'll be watching what you come up with next. Thank you!

  • @behringer Thanky you Behringer! I'm glad you liked how I used your product they are very good I'd like to get a few new ones and make a new video if you know what I mean! :D

  • @spongah lmao! Did that work?

  • @behringer are you serious?????

  • @detroitcalling Yes!!!!!

  • @behringer so, in your believe its great to see that people use your gear to make their kids and cats happy with some beautiful noises these faders make when they move? because if you check, the only videos that are on the web about them is exactly that - people showing of their talent in programming them so they move nicely.. I´d like to hear the music of these people they made using your gear, but instead all I see is "this" kind´a stuff.. I had it, it never got used.. but was a nice toy. :)

  • Respond to this video... instead tell me, how would you use the bcr to run a hardware synth? that would be something useful.. for example the JOMOX MBASE 11 - just for example... I dare you, do you accept?

  • @detroitcalling That's too detailed a setup for a YouTube comment, I'm afraid. YouTube won't let us post links in comments, so I will DM you the link to our tech support crew. Thanks for checking in!

  • @behringer Stop using sweatshop labor please. Chinese workers deserve a fair go too.

  • @MrShayneOneill We refuse to use sweatshop labor. Our employees in the Chinese plant work in an ISO9001-certified facility that is fully owned by us; we do not outsource assembly. It includes on-site food, lodging, a library, recreation center, and medical services. Conditions in our facility have more in common with US or European factories than most Chinese facilities. In fact, there is a waiting list for employment with us there.

  • @behringer Sure thing buddy. I too want to work in a totalarian production environment.

  • what keyboard is that? or is it just a regular media keyboard with ProTools stickers on it?

  • @mesaoneCCK just an HP keyboard with pro tools stickers.. I dont use it any more the stickers came off after a while then the keys were sticky.. and I never even looked at them anyway lol!

  • how to you connect them to each other? or are they all just USB to your computer?

  • @MrConorO96 I personally have them all USB'd into my computer seperately but I'm pretty sure that isn't the only way you can hook them up...

  • @MrConorO96 Hi dude, you can connect them to each other by midi cables... search in the owner manual how to do this...

  • @302294884 You can download the manual on their website, but yes they have midi in and out

  • How did you run this test? Did you make a file with a lot of automation yourself?

  • That's great!

  • es para lo unico que sirvee?

  • @dannywooten obviamente se usa para controlar los faders de tu DAW en vez de ahcerlo con el mouse

  • Hey...how did you link them all up...are they all just USB'd to your computer??? If so...do you just keep them all at different presets for the channels so you can have instead of 8 in front of you ....you have 24?????

  • Hey...how did you link them all up...are they all just USB'd to your computer??? If so...do you just keep them all at different presets for the channels so you can have instead of 8 in front of you ....you have 24?????

  • stop playing with them and do some sick work ........

  • damn

  • hi - using this with ProTools as a Baby HUI - anyone managed to use it to automate plugins? still great for faders and panning!

  • @elusivetones

did u ever get that to work?

  • HEY MAN IF U CAN. CAN YOU SEND THAT FILE FOR THE VEGAS MODE

  • Stop messing around a get some work done...plus remember...thats a behringer...so you will most likley need to replace those soon after your fader games.

    Behringer....when the best..."Simply Wont Do!"

  • @fleabage lol I've had these since I started my studio like 4 yrs ago! well the first one anyway... and yes one fader is acting up but it only started doing that recently.. I'm going to replace it and keep the old one for parts then if another fader goes out I'll just swap them (assuming I'm as good of an EE as I think I am)

  • @spongah fag

  • @standardowl lol that was random.. hope u feel better now ;)

  • @fleabage Here Behringer has put into your hands something that for really even triple the price you can't do. It's not like audio is passing through it; in which case poor components would make a much bigger difference. Behringer makes low end gear, that more often than not is better than competing models. I'm not a fan of Behringer, but the whole "Behringer sucks!" thing is overplayed and inaccurate. I'm not trying to start crap with you, just making a fair observation.

  • @fleabage pricey brand...what if the cheap..."Steal My Show?!?"

  • Stop fucking around a get some work done...plus remember...thats a behringer...so you will most likley need to replace those soon after your fader games.

    Behringer....when the best..."Simply Wont Do!"

  • Is it possible to step through all channels in cubase with just one bcf or are you able to control only those 8 channels?

  • @ichmeinT From what I remember, in cubase they seem to be independent like sometimes two BCF's will even control the same 8 faders.. but in pro tools they seem to function as one unit so if you step to the next group I think it'll grab the next 24 (with 3 units) but I usually right click or WIN+Click to choose where the first controller is set and I switch around once in a while that way, cuz often sessions have different layouts

  • @ichmeinT One BCF will control as many faders as you have; however, you'll only be able to go in intervals of 8. Also, setting up the bcf differs from DAW. I've only tried it with Pro Tools and FL Studio and they're completely different ways to set it up. I'm assuming Cubase will probably be different.

  • I could turn those sliders into an oscilloscope in under 10 minutes. nice vid

  • Nice! What were these like to setup with Pro Tools? I'm thinking about getting one soon. Have you connected the 1st one thru USB or midi to your interface? Thanks

  • are you running these USB or MIDI? I ask because I have never figured how to set it up for MIDI in ProTools. The USB is very unreliable for me... if I reboot the computer, it usually stops working. I've read many, many forums but I still haven't figured out how to get my 2 BCF2000's (which I adore) hooked up reliably. If anyone can shed light on this or has figured out how to MIDI two BCF2000s please let me know !!!!!!!! 11

  • hey buddy!!! I'm from brazil...I have one of these and would like to know how I work with two or more.... does have any special configuration to do that? thanks!!!

  • 100% wtf (y)

  • cooool, babe!!!!

tell me, r u using them 2 control protools? which version?

  • whats tha point ??

  • pretty bad ass, i just orded one its shipping today, is it hard to set up? how much did u pay for urs?

  • do these work with traction 3 ?from mackie

  • I like to do this with my 808.

  • KEEEEWWLLL!

  • xD really cool

  • Hey Dude,

real nice! wheere did you get that typing keyboard and what is it called, can u tell me? thanks!

  • @flotopo it's just a regular HP wireless keyboard, and I put some pro tools stickers on them that I ordered off the internet.. I didn't like them because they started to peel off eventually leaving the key all sticky.. I dont use that one any more.. I think you can order an official pro tools keyboard from digidesign for like $100

  • BEHRINGER BCF 2000 kann der bei JEDER Musik Software eingesetz werden sprich Magix Musik Maker Logic Pro . . etc. . . Fruity Loops Studio ?

  • Mackie mode has solved my problem with Cubase 5

  • can i set every fader to an other channel on my computer???

  • @SuperKeyboarder yes. if you use it in normal midi mode. it is all just about your software, but most have the "learn" function in it.

    i have 3 BCF´s.

the first is in Mackie Mode, controlling the first 8 channels), the second one is in midi mode. (1-7 are the groupchannels and 8 is the master), the third unit is in midi mode too, and controlls the eq and pan of the selected channels on unit one. was hard work to make it word. but it works.

  • Hey what kind of keyboard sdo you have? Is it like an FL keyboard or something?

  • i just came.

  • Animal :)

  • @ TheVoopover

I have used one of this for 2 years now. Still it is as new.

I can't say i am hard with my fingers. And maybe there are some that are that, therefor that message.

Maybe the salesman just want to sell another that cost 10 times more.

    //Pax Greger

  • @TheVoopover it is general folklore / knowledge / gossip in the audio world that behringer makes crap gear that breaks easily. the BCF however is a rare exception. rarely trust the opinions of the 'man at a music store.'

  • does the motorfader automation also work with ableton live?

  • yes :)

  • A little protools fun

  • COOL

Can someone please explain HOW to connect 3 BCF2000 with CUBASE5...

If it is possible, i want to strip the BCF, and take the faders and mount it in to a nice wooden box.

All 3 together would be nice i think...

  • @PaxGreger im thinkin of getting one of these to use with cubase five. did you set it up yet ?

  • Yes - i got 1 now. And it is working fine.

Think i will buy 2 more so that i have 24 channels to control. Together with Tranzporter this will give me a more relaxed control over Cubase5.

    Any problems - mail me....

  • @PaxGreger whats tranzporter?

  • How are the custom automation's created?? Just added a 3rd to the studio and looking to "wow" a few clients.

  • haha awesome

  • I'm buying one just because of this video xD

  • MacBook Pro, PT's LE 7.4.2, Mbox 2. BCF connected by USB. Not grasping the concept of the setup, so nothing is working whatsoever. What do you change on the BCF and in Pro Tools to get these things to link up? Can anyone help?

  • you might have to set it to 'Mackie Control emulation" no idea how to do it though but theres a lot of talk that thats the way to sort out compatibility issues

  • wurd. BabyHUI mode. figured it out. Hold down the 5th Solo button from the left when powering up. Go to MIDI surface control in protools and set it. You can run up to 4 of these bastards for each session, that would be sweet. Although, you would need a really good quality USB HUB to do it unless you somehow daisy-chained MIDI cables which I haven't attempted yet. Does anyone run these in MIDI instead of USB and how do you do it?

  • no dont use a hub you need to plug each one in to their own usb port on your computer and if you dont have enuff you can get a PCI USB card to add more.. I haven't tried midi what so ever with these

  • yeah, I'm on an MacBook Pro, kinda limited on USB Ports and no expansion for more that I know of. I've tried the BCF through a HUB and it does in fact work with a little "trickeration". But it does have it's problems through it also.

  • that's wrong

You plug the 1rst into your computer, then go midi out of the 1rst into midi in in the 2nd, on the 2nd with midi out into the midi in of the 3rd. on the 3rd you go with midi out in the 1rst midi in!! than you can launch three BCF2000 with one USB-Cable

    greets

    Tobias

  • Hey! How you do this "Vegas Mode"? I have 3 bcf2000 like you on cubase but I don't know how to do it?

  • Ok guys this is not a demo or vegas mode I custom made this automation so make your own, make a better one! upload it as a video response

  • Is that a test mode, how did you set it for that ?

  • ok how did you get 3 of these to work????????/ this is great

  • Wow, what does this have to do with actual audio use, please show it in action while say doing a Master Mix ???

Full Robo-Automated Mixing very cool looking indeedy' , like cascading slider knobs in heaven ? ok..................

  • OMG :D

    That looks sooo funny xD

  • Nice video...I have just started to use a Control24 at uni, but have a BCF at home. I wasn't really using it to it's full potential (as the whole programming side is a bit beyond me) but I managed to get it working using the Mackie Control emulation (in Ableton Suite 8) and it now works perfectly. Why people are recommending expensive alternatives...understand that this is designed for people who want a good controller with total recall for a very good price.

Thanks again for the vid :)

  • i meant buy 3 not 2

  • so i can buy 2 of these and it will be like having a 24 track control surface

and btw can i use a 24 track mixer as my audio interface and would that be affective?

  • Personally I would use a 24 input preamp/interface combo and then use this to control the recording once in the computer. This allows you to have completely clean signals on the computer and edit them without affecting the raw audio files. I used to record from a mixer into a computer and then control it and edit the tracks and I hated it. If I'd done something I didn't like it was difficult to rectify. If you want any help choosing a good set up, send me a message and I'll do all I can.

    Adlen.

  • btw that was a reply to Steve but if anybody else wants help don't be afraid to ask :P

  • what you could have done (if your mixer has the option) is feeding pre-fader signals or inserts into a multitrack recorder (or you pc) and then r4ecoding an additional 24 tracks from the mix, or just a stereo mixdiown so you have flexibility of raw files without editing and a stereo mixdown with editing applied

  • what you could do is buy a cheap 24 track firewire or usb mixer (Xenyx and XenyXXL highly recommended) as your audio interface for 24 tracks, then use this as automation controller and you have a 24 track style digital mixer. If you need more flexibility, try the BCR2000 for controlling EQ, plugins etc. Ofcourse, a more professional looking solution is an actual 24 track digital mixer ;)

  • Just a short question. Which USB-Mode do you use, U1, U2, U3.....for the connection of these 3 units? I've got Cubase 5 on Vista32bit, but of 3 BCF's is just one working correctly.

Many thanks in advance 4 feedback

  • i have a quest? ok i hve logici pro 9 , how can i do to have the three controll surfaces working at the same time thanks at all

  • enter all 3 of them under your control surfaces.. in pro tools I can select up to 4 "midi controllers" these are under the HUI category

  • So umm this is a studio mixer or like a controllable one for reason or something like that?I dont really understand what is so funny with playing those faders i would just rather use it as a mixer.

  • you're right.. you really dont understand lol

  • I think I might go this direction...I asked at another video about using more than one of these at once and now that was answered...why the heck did Tascam discontinue the 2400 interface?

  • yeah their awesome.. I looked at the 2400 but I read it was discontinued cuz it had too much lead in it and it didn't meet environmental standards in europe or something.. I'd recommend the bcf2000 for most bang for the buck.. I'd probably go mackie if I could afford it.. or if I had 100,000 I'd get one of those super cool ICON HD systems lol :p

  • Just bought one of these - very cool video

  • Hey, whats the noise like on these things? They sound pretty noisy in the vid.

  • well.. thats with all 24 moving at once.. usually they arent all flying around like that.. you can hear them if the music is off but with the music going you dont notice the motors.. it slaps when you close pro tools and they all jump to 0 tho

  • Ok thanks :-)

  • how did you link 3 of them together ???

    that cooll shit man

    can you explain?

  • hehehe nice! I was thinking about adding a second one. Maybe. I might pony up for a Tascam mixingboard though....

  • crap you have that oled keyboard too? nioce

  • lol no their just pro-tools stickers.. they suck, they started to fall off then the key was all sticky so I ended up getting a new keyboard.. I want an actual pro tools keyboard next..

  • And I have asked the forum about the function name - it's called automation lol

  • Thanks.

    Are the knobs motorized?

  • no the knobs arent motorized..

  • not motorized, but they're encoders, so they display the value they're set to.

  • How is the motorized faders function called? like when I look at different mixers features I want to know if it has it but I don't know what word to look for lol

  • pretty much that.. motorized faders.. or flying faders..

  • they all plug in thru USB.. you can use MIDI as well but I dont..

  • ok lol

what if you have all 24 track fill and you need more tracks(faders)..

how will the switching bank work. lol just taught about it ..

which bcf2000 will get the next 8 tracks?

  • in pro tools I just right click on the track that I want to be the left-most fader.. and it makes the 24 faders to the right of that controlled by the bcf's. if one I want to control is not "highlighted" I can right click wherever I want so that it IS highlighted. so i can switch the bank of 24 to any consecutive 24 faders in pro tools with the click of a mouse. I usually set the group volumes and run them through aux busses then once I get all the sub groups mixed I set it on the busses and mix

  • ya I need to try that too.. i just order my third one too...lol u r right, so worth the price.. I'm thinking on making a global setting that the last in the chain of IDs jump to the next 24 tracks .. n not 8.

i use m-power pro tools .. ur method i gotta learn ,, but i use FL and Sonar 8 mostly. if u do a vid for pro tools that will work greatly.

  • My mixer does the same thing..............If I use my fingers!

  • whatever! your mixer only has knobs! just like your mom

  • no need to get all bitchy the guys only jokeing

  • he's my homy.. I'm just joking too.. but thanks for sticking up for him! :D

  • oh right lol cool mixers though dude

  • hell yeah
