Not really, the Ztar first appeared in Mario Party 4 as just an extra mini-game which was the volleyball game. It's 2nd appearance was in Mario Party 5 when you lose a star whenver someone gets it. Also in Mario Party 6, 7, 8 and of coarse, the DS. But you're right.
