  • I feel srry for everyone who got a fake mono box, because I just got mine, and It is perfectly fine.. And I have the worst luck...

  • Because everything was "compressed" to one speaker it comes across as more powerful than the stereo version. Listen to "Revolution" in mono, a lot more powerful than the stereo version for the same reason.

Let me add more fuel to the debate of mono vs stereo...as the story goes the Beatles were there when George Martin did the mono mixdown, and after that George did his own stereo mix. So purists will argue the mono mixes are the "true" mixes. Of course arguments start over that.

  • totaldrambeatles the point is not better or worse but different. however as an audio engineer let me tell you that stereo is an illusion "pan left, pan right."

  • toldaram - no idea what you mean.

  • i don't really like it when people say that mono i general sounds better than stereo in general that its not "spread apart" the beatles and bob dylan were both meant to be heard in mono as you get to hear the studio advance with the beatles the technology in the music in mono is much more high advanced and superior stereo is better than mono when you talk about bands from the 70's like pink floyd and led zeppelin thumbs up if anyone agree's

  • the biggest difference is that mono mixes all sound far more 'forward.' even after compression. by forward i mean the sounds, particularly vocals sound closer to you than a stereo mix.

  • the stereo mixes were rarely 'totally' from the mono mixes however there were enough differences to make a large qualitative difference.

vinyl is definitely the way to go for those who want to hear a large to huge difference.

  • @caesarcerf no MP3 replace specific incorrect mono mixes is the way to go

  • Pause at 3:58. Definitely mind blown.

  • if i listen to it on youtube in 1080HD, its that in your opinion a better alternative if you can't afford the beatles in mono box set? just curious?

  • I always felt the best way to illustrate the righteous mono edge is to play "I FEEL FINE" i n stereo and then in mono-- IMO nowhere is the sound more separated, disembodied, than the stereo of I FEEL FINE. The mono of this is so present and it sounds like the Fabs are playing it in your living room. Also, that awesome echo of the opening riff is lost in stereo.

  • Ha ha... yes, I felt the same way. Oh yes, in Mono.

  • Why didn't you just install the mono CDs to your computer before returning it to it's owner?

  • @PAVI259 Because I wanted the booklets, etc.

  • @johnmontagnamusic Makes sense, that's the reason I spent $180 on the stereo box instead of $150 on Itunes. Everyone thinks I'm dumb for going the more expensive route (Being a 12 year old, every one I know doesn't understand the concept of "Real" objects you can actually touch, but only understand digital products haha.

  • That's a really nice Hofner you have :)

  • @PAVI259 It's actually a copy, made by "Carlo Robelli." Plays like a dream, though!

  • @johnmontagnamusic Cool. I'm investing on a Paul Mccartney 500/1 Hofner bass at the moment.

  • From one fellow Beatle fan to another-Jon, you da man, and this was a great review.

  • Your reactions are perfect. I definitely have been wanting to buy the box sets, and I've put off buying them, because I'm cheap. I definitely think if I have to choose one box though, I think I've got to get the mono. It just sounds so perfect.

  • Nicely done. EMI, Nicely done

  • I love your reviews. Absolutely awesome

  • This is the reason why you should collect the original Beatles vinyl in mono. I don't know about Parlophone's stereo albums, but Capitol's stereo albums in the 60's, in America, are crap, especially if they resorted to creating "Duophonic" masters of some songs from the original mono tapes.

  • finally got it u were the one who made me think THTS THE BOX FOR ME! and guess what...................THE INNER SLEEVE HAS ITS OWN INNER SLEEVE!!!

lol u rule im a huge fan of u bro u :3 ur my music idol

  • Comment removed

  • the innersleeve, has its own innersleeve!

  • this was fun video thanks for sharing with all the Beatles fans out there

  • Hi there. I like the video. I have just a quick question for you. Now I received my Beatles mono set today! 100% authentic and flawless plus it sounds amazing! On your mono masters cd, does it have the paper sleeve? Mine does not and im thinking they are just made that way. Thank you for your time.

  • Nice video! Got me the same box but made in Japan. Read all about the differences between Beatles In Mono box sets made in Japan, USA and EU: w w w . c d j a p a n .c o . j p / d e t a i l v i e w . h t m l ? K E Y = T O C P - 7 1 0 4 1

  • Thanks for the review John M. This helped me understand the mono phenomenon. Are there any other new Beatles songs like "Real Love" or "Free as a Bird"?????? Any old tunes discovered hidden away??? I'm an old Beatles fanatic but somehow never got to hear these tunes thanks to the crappy radio stations in my area. P.S. The gtr. solo in "Tomorrow Never Knows" MONO--damn it sounds cool!

  • @ratface111

Hi, I am responding to my own comment:--It's been two months and I have found a "ton" of new music by the Beatles. Mostly from "Anthology" 1,2 and 3. P.S. I watched the 9 to 10 hour documentary called "Anthology" on youtube--that's were the anthology albums come from. Songs not put on white album, 9 minute version of Flying, strings only version of Elinor Rigby, Obladi Oblada with guitar instead of piano, various takes of Strawberry Fields, BBC live studio etc,.etc....!

  • I FINALLY picked up the USB box for the FLAC files. So now I own the entire set. Vote of preference. MONO, FLAC, Stereo. The USB is ridiculously expensive, but the lead ball apple is cool.

  • Whenever I want to have a bad day, I listen to mono music....

  • mind blow= press number 5

  • GIVE ME DAH STEREO BAAHHX

  • i love the mono box. but i prefer the stereo mix of the white album. in the mono version of "helter skelter" the fade-out and fade-in towards the end is eliminated.

  • desmond........?

  • I was also a "Mono? Who listens to mono?" guy myself. "What is this? 1950? Give me the stereo box!!!" I now own the Mono Box thanks to this review.

  • i bought mine at Best Buy on sale for 100 bucks, it is the best 100 i've ever spent, the sound quality is unreal!

  • got this for like 100 bucks, so worth it.

  • Hey John, just wondering when the next remaster review is going to be. Keep up the good work. love your vids.

  • Listin .......be a bit naughty ....re-borrow his mono box - then just swap the discs - photoy copy new disc adhesives ...! SHAZAM ! .....woops !....i forgot -y'll only get away with it untill he hears it again ...and he'll never be your mate again - so - whatever you do - DONT listin to me . GREAT REVIEW , ta !

  • @TheMichaelseymour actually, i got my own mono box for christmas later that year so it's all good!

  • @johnmontagnamusic did you hear the song revolution in mono or lucy in the sky with diamonds

  • this video is fucking awesome!

  • @ johnmontagnamusic, were you able to buy another set of Remastered Beatles? Tho Mono version? I have both of them!!! One example which you didn't play is listening to "I'm only Sleeping" on the Mono version the backwards guitar lead is really awesome when you hear it. Then, "Piggies" & "Blackbird" have different animal sounds compared to the stereo. The entire Sgt. Peppers CD in Mono is extremely awesome!

  • I hit the floor when you broke out the bass !

  • Your facial expressions were PRICELESS on this mono box review fellow Beatard! My mom was an original Beatlemaniac from '64 (she saw them TWICE in concert, Hollywood Bowl in '64 then Dodger Stadium in '66). In 1980, when I was three, she slapped on side two of "The White Album" and that was all she wrote brother! I was obsessed from that point on. I bought both sets on 9-9-09 from Ameoba Music in Hollywood. "Paperback Writer" is mono will knock your ass against the wall!!!!

  • im getting this as my grad gift!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Any chance you could do an album by album review of the mono editions? Keep up the brilliant work. Kind regards from an Australian Beatlemaniac.

  • Very funny video - you are a funny guy

  • Love the review and love your reaction John, you are a star.

  • Besides the reaction of this funny retard the mono box set is way better than the stereo. The way they wanted people to hear them. Mono is and will always be the Beatles way. unless you´re a 2nd or 3rd generation listener who grew up absorbing stereo sound, you´ll be blown away with mono.

  • Beatles in MONO rules.I agree.thats how the Beatles wanted us to hear them..

  • I want that Mono Box!! Heard Pepper in mono about 4 months ago and it blew me away. Pepper is definitly meant to be heard in mono. Great page Judd!

  • @Uzzerrrname I'm not sure about that. I heard how the mono mixes are suppose to sound better, but I'm not too impressed. Bruce Botnick, the engineer for The Doors and Love, stated that he always preferred mixing in stereo by the mid 60s. Sure, the mixes are punchier and slightly different, but that's the only appeal for me.

  • @Uzzerrrname get the box don't let anything stop you from getting the box make sure listen to mono masters the white album and revolver in mono they sound great many people hate mono white album but that is my favorite version of the album

  • i dont really care for the beatles. I just love Patsy Cline !

  • @VASINGER patsy's great. did you sit thru the entire video anyway?

  • I've been listening to the Beatles since Love Me Do was a new release. The mono box is definately the way to go. Rubber Soul and Help sound much better here. BUT DO BE CAREFUL OF CHINESE FAKES THAT ARE FLOODING THE MARKETPLACE.

  • Both indeed!

  • omg i loveyour facial expressions when i feel depressed i just watch this vid thank you so much man

    all hail john lennon

  • wow! .. amaazing.. tnx for the references JOHN

  • Hello John

I bought the 2009 stero box on 9-9-09 with having no real beatle knowledge before I got home poped rubber soulin the stero and I was hooked. I have been arguing with myself on whether or not I should buy the mono box.

So can you please tell me which albums with the exception of sgt pepper sound better in mono

    peace

  • mono beatles records on LP are the real deal , the mono mixes,They were mixed by the Beatles. The stereo mixes were not made with the Beatles present.

  • I'm just curious, but did Paul actually said that quote on 0:29?

  • I think you are selling the mono box a little too hard with your facial expressions. On songs with extreme separation then mono is a bit better but if you want to hear everything that is going on, subtle nuances, and their voices completely clear then get the stereo. If you have a great player (like BOSE) and you are sitting at least 6 feet away from the player you will hear the sweetness and clarity of the stereo mixes. Mono IS punchier but when you mash everything together music often is.

  • i love your passion for these songs, it's fantastic!

  • question, does "Help1" sound better in mono or stereo to you? i have the mono box but surfing on youtube i listened to the stereo mixes and some of them sound more brighter, so what do you think?

  • @rivaz705 to be honest, i find that it varies from track to track. i LOVE the mono mix of "the night before:" tight, dry and kickin'. also: george martin re-mixed "help!" in stereo for the 1987 CD; the 2009 stereo remaster has the 87 mix. (but the mono remaster also has the 1965 stereo mix. haven't compared all these back to back yet.)

  • @johnmontagnamusic I agree, I bought the stereo set myself. And I find it's track to track, not album to album. But, in saying that I don't like The White Album in mono, at all. I find it's kinda dull? In stereo it packs more of a punch. But of course, Please Please Me, With The Beatles, and maybe A Hard Day's Night would be better in mono.

  • @rivaz705 MONO!

  • I prefur Mono Masters over Past Masters.

I played the mono Thank You Girl in the jukeboxes a lot in the spring of 1964. But when I bought The Beatles Second Album and heard the stereo version of that song I noticed a difference. The mono is better for that song.

Another thing I like about Mono Masters. I like the four mono tracks that are found on the stereo Yellow Submarine album.

  • great vid,thanks.

  • I LOVE YOUR BASS

  • Awesome review. Once I fulfilled gathering the individual 2009 stereo CDs, I'll like to be the mono box. I'll probably burn copies, so I can listen to them in my or friends' vehicles. They'll probably get their minds blown once they hear the songs in mono.

  • john i am a Beat-ard myself at 11 years old and have been saving for one of the boxes and when i saw you i instantly worked harder at earning my money. because you taught me that mono is better then stereo thank you

  • John, this is the reason I now own both box sets. This review pushed me over the edge.

  • LOL Beat-ard XD love it

  • Nice video and in sum the best review of the beatles remastered I've seen so far.

  • The inner sleeve...HAS IT'S OWN INNER SLEEVE...

  • @tagjim

Yo dog, I heard you like inner sleeves, so I put an inner sleeve in your inner sleeve so you can have a sleeve while your sleeve is sleeved...

  • Some of the songs on Stereo just feel like they were tampered with and messed abit abit to much which made it loose some of its quality

dont get me wrong id still listen to it...

but on Mono you can really hear the difference

more solid, more phsycadelic, and you can hear more sounds in some of the songs which you didnt hear in stereo

    so personnally Mono

  • I've ben arguing the mono case for years! That's how they were intended. The stereo remasters are awful to my ears, too much separation, every little mistake and nuance enhanced/too much drum and bass (aways a problem with 'remastering' nowadays). The mono are far superior, although still inferior to listening to the original vinyl on a good system-a dj friend blasted out 'Rain' on vinyl the other week and it sounded phenomenal-so many people commented on how good it sounded compared to cd

  • The whole mono vs stereo argument is dumb nowadays. It's all subjective. I think the only real answer is listening to each song and deciding which ones you like in mono and which one you like in stereo. I for one feel some of the earlier harder rocking tracks like "i saw her standing there", "long tall sally" sound better in mono and most everything later on sounded better on stereo. Helter Skelter, though is exception. That is my opinion, though. In any case, nice video.

  • hey john what is your top 10 favorite list of beatles albums

  • Love the Mono box. I have two.

I was just looking at all of my Beatles cd's, and was thinking:

Wouldn't it be nice if the Beatles released the stereo set, the mono set, the Capitol Albums, the E.P. boxset and the Singles boxset all the same size?

That would be awesome. You could have an entire shelf full of Beatles that goes in chronological order, and they would all be the same size.

I think it would be great.

Awesome video, John. Waiting for the new ones!!!

  • how can you have "paperback writer" on the mono collection if it wasn't on the revolver or any of the albums? thank you

  • @stratsplayer the mono box includes "mono masters," a 2-disc collection of all the singles-only tracks. points to you for noticing though!

  • @stratsplayer The mono version includes a version of "Past Masters" in mono. As you probably know, the PM contain all of the singles (and German versions of She Loves You and I Want To Hold Your Hand).

But this entire mono v stereo discussion, while very valid and significant, is giving me a headache at this point.

  • Hey man, I'm 21 and I've been a beatles fan all my life...and when I watched this months ago I was like wtf. Mono is far better than the stereo...So on my Ipod I have two playlists The beatles and the beatles (mono)...I just want to say I think the first time I heard Sgt.Pepper in mono I cried.

  • Excellent review!!

  • I really dont know which one to get,

if i get mono, i miss out on Abbey road and Let it be

If i get stereo, its not going to sound how the beatles wanted us to hear it

    tough call

  • @MrBcfcBrooks buy mono then buy abbey road and let it be seperate! the way to be

  • i hope my brother watches this to hear your CD's in the floor of the car comment.

  • john...who the hell is rich zukor.....after watching your reviews I'm becoming obsessed with the bloke (that can't be right can it?). he obviously has good taste to buy the mono box ahead of you guys, he seems to like bowling shirts, he plays drums? he , and indeed all of you fellas seem like good drinking buddies. come to los angeles, you can crash at mine. :)

  • halo3fan18 believe me, the way to go is mono. I listened to these albums in mono when i was a kid in the 80's on vinyl(stereo albums excluded of course). The Beatles mixed in mono, do you need any higher recommendation? Plus, the mono gives you a 100% replication of the albums which the stereo box doesn't give you, just seeing the albums in miniature is a joy. Mono a go go.

  • I did enjoy this video, the only thing is, it didn't find the answer that I have been searching youtube for. Mono or stereo? I can only afford one, and yet I am torn between the two. They say that stereo is better because human beings hear in stereo(and also because Stereo has better sound quality), but they a say that this music should be enjoyed in Mono because that's how the Beatles made it. I need an answer!

  • @halo3fan18 right now i'd say that if you can only afford one box, make it mono. the stereo albums are available individually ("let it be" and "abbey road" were only ever mixed in stereo). i've been listening to the beatles my entire life, and hearing the mono remasters has been revelatory. enjoy!

  • @johnmontagnamusic sorry but i don't agree with you. I say if you are only buyig one, make it stereo. It would be better, if you could only buy one... great vid though!

  • @johnmontagnamusic I agree... Other than a Vee-Jay Introducing the Beatles LP I somehow had or found (or belonged to my mom) in 1982 which was in mono, I have only had the nasty 1987 stereo CDs, and before that -- and even worse -- the "duophonic" version Capital released (really stereo created by way of some studio tricks using the mono masters), the mono versions are refreshing and a new experience for me. But they did an awesome job on the stereo versions just the same. "Both" is right.

  • @mjpj66 ouch! the "studio tricks" used to make stereo mixes from mono were pretty awful: filtering all the bass to one channel, and all the treble to another. disgusting. stereo remasters are sweet, been re-enjoying those the last few days. (mono still kicks ass, but growing up in the late 70s-early 80s my folks usually had stereo LPs so the stereo mixes take me back... i always get sentimental around the holidays!)

  • @halo3fan18 get the mono, the mono is a limited edition, the stereo isnt

  • Stereo who listens to mono? What is this the 1820's?

  • question is - Have you heard Pepper in Mono? i was skeptical, but there is a huge difference. it's so much tighter. you can literally hear the extra time they spent on mixing it mono.

  • @bigideas3 awww yeah. mono pepper rocks.

  • Is that a real Hofner, or one of those reissued ones? Its a nice one nonetheless though. So which one do you prefer if I was going to buy one? Stereo? or Mono?

  • I currently have the stereo box but after watching this i have to say i must get the mono box now :).

  • lol love the reactions =] But I am one who likes monaural (mono) recordings since you get a closer more rough sound songs lack nowadays. Thank you for the review =]

  • great Hofner!

  • Great reaction to "Paperback Writer!" That's one of the best recordings in existence, and I got chills thinking back to when I first heard the mono mix. Glad to see in your Magical Mystery Tour review that you picked up this glorious set. I got the mono set before stereo partly because it was said to be a limited run (yay for marketing). Thankfully, those claims seem to have been exaggerated, and the sets are still on shelves. These mixes deserve to be readily available, not locked in a vault.

  • John,

I have also just had my mind blown. Thanks for turning my world upside down...

These are songs that I thought I knew every aspect of, which I have now discovered that I have never REALLY listened to.

    Keep it real. Dan

  • John, Brill reviews you're a star. As a British 15 yr old in 1980 I became obsessed with the beats at that point and decided to buy all of their records (vinyl of course) in chronological order. All the albums i bought were used copies so they were all pressed in the 60s or 70s. Every one was mono. When the cds came out i thought there was something missing so hearing these mono remixes has been FAB :) they're spot on and truly represent how the Beatles were heard in Britain.

  • Well what if you can't afford both? Would you recommend getting the mono and then individually purchasing their later albums (i.e. Abbey Road) in remastered stereo? I'm just trying to put together the ultimate Beatles collection here...

  • i LOVE John Montagna's reaction. Whenever I am having a bad day, I just play this video review. I show friends and family. From Beat-ard to another, thanks John!!

  • "I feel like I'm hearing these songs for the first time" - that sums it up for me.

After hearing the amazing remixes on the 'Yellow Submarine Songtrack', 'Let It Be... Naked' and 'Love' in the last 10 years, it was something of a quantum leap backwards for the engineers to return to the original stereo mixes.

It was like the Phantom Menace again (ie. a 10 year old Darth Vader with a pudding bowl haircut, chirping "yippee!")

But the Mono box... (sigh)... did I just swoon again? Sorry

  • I recently acquired my Mono Box for my birthday, and I don't know if i can listen to the stereo albums ever again! lol Mono just seems so much better! My reaction was the same as yours, it was like when I heard the songs for the first time!

Thanks for posting your review! If you hadn't made it my dad would have never been convinced to buy me the Mono Box :) (I showed it to him as proof it was awesome :P)

  • The mono mixes are lost when the Beatles switched to eight-track recording. Anyone who prefers "Hey Jude", and "The White Album" in mono, has lost their hearing on a few frequencies.

When the Beatles recorded on eight track tape, the mono mix was obsolete. Compare the mono version of "Yer Blues", vs. the 2009 stereo remaster.

What made the Mono box special was that "middle period" of albums. "Help, Rubber, Revolver, and Sgt.".

  • love the mono! and good review!

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU...I NOW KNOW WHICH ONES TO GET...

  • I'm still waiting for the 8-track Beatle box!

  • @olhole Ha ha!

  • love your videos and your perspective, how many times do you think you've played EYE IN THE SKY?

  • who is rich zukor he scawey =(

  • Hello John.

My beatles review of the mono box is now finished and you can see it now on youtube.

Here is the name of the video:

BEATLES REVIEW: An inside look at the mono box set: Mono Vs. Stereo!

  • holy crap

  • i'm subscribed to your channel now...

i love beatles and you're so funny!!!

    have a nice weekend

  • hey joe just got the mono box and liten to help sounds like it in stereo cause i dont hear the diffrent way john say now i find to change my mind was i cheated by apple? :(

  • wow i made the same face as soon as the tracks started

i bought the all stereo but all in singles i feel like a fool for not getting the mono

    BUT ONE QUESTION

NO "YELLOW SUB ALBUM" in the mono set right or MINI DOCS right?

  • Thanks for providing this. I have been considering making the splurge on the box set and have now decided to go with the mono version.

  • my one problem with the mono is that I will have to stick with the original Let it Be from 1987, which isn't that good. I have Abbey Road and Yellow Submarine on vinyl, but I can't seem to find Let it Be. Does anyone know if they sell the separately as CDs?

  • @TheAwesomeBomb The CDs are sold separately. You could go to any large store (I can't seem to find them in anywhere without and extensive collection) and buy Let It Be, stereo remaster, on CD. The album isn't released on mono.

  • @TheAwesomeBomb all the stereo CDs are available individually.

  • @TheAwesomeBomb Unfortuneatley the MONO set is not available as individual albums. Wish that Apple and EMI realized that there are now more hardcore fans out there. Not to mention the box sets are expensive, and some might not want all those albums.

  • John.. excellent reviews!! But, I have another question:

What about the 24-Bit stereo remastered version from the Apple USB pendrive? :P (this kind of thing never ends.. always appears a new "better sound" version!!) LOL

Did you listened to it? I've heard them and sounds really great!

"Dr Robert" (in Stereo 24-Bits), looks like Lennon is singing in the middle of my living room!! Stunning!

    Best Regards!!

  • @packard75 haven't heard/seen the USB. nice collectible, but as much of a beat-ard as i am it's not essential.

  • Could watch this all day, this is just SUPERB!!! priceless !!!!! Thanks John

  • which packaging is better?

  • Hey man, i've rad that the white album is the one with the most notable differences between stereo and mono sets, so here's my question, which is better?

  • Hey dude am 12 and i hav a qustion.

Since many people hav shone on the mono box as a terrible reason to spend 200 bucks am wondering in your so honest opinion do u think they should of made it whitch the same price tag as the stereo and whitch do you prefere?

  • Hey dude am 12 and i hav a qustion.

Since many people hav shone on the mono box as a terrible reason to spend 200 bucks am wondering in your so honest opinion do u think they should of made it whitch the same price tag as the stereo and whitch do you prefere?

  • let me ask you fellow "beatard",

out of all the albums mixed in both mono and stereo , is there any Stereo LPs that you would say hold the advantage over their Mono counterparts?

  • hmm. interesting question, will have to get back to you. would definitely be a later one though; early stereo mixes are a little weird.

  • Yes you can.

  • Although the Mono Box doesn't include Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, and Let It Be, in my opinion mono is the way to go.

  • Hello.

Im 14 years old and it is really hard for me to decide wich box to buy.

So what is good about the Stereo box and what is good about the mono box?

  • @xxmag12 right now my advice to people is to get the mono box, then get the individual stereo CDs if you want them. gonna do an email/question video soon, can i use your question?

  • Comment removed

  • Make mine MONO on VINYL 33 1/3 LP. Digitized sound lacks soul.

  • well on stereo on headphones of songs before when stereo was perfected round the late 60's u fell werid about how the music sounds but mono is perfect for headfone listenersof tocay for the eraly 60's the only time it sounds good is when u have a boom box

  • The solo for "The End" is hot as shit !

  • I love Mono, I guess Phil Spector almost entirely did Mono as well as the Beatles in the sixties.

  • It's not Real, The beatles love monomix, even in the anthology McCartney s' tells : "there was shit, the stereo, I never do not like the stereo mix, preferred the monomix"

  • Hey! i've got a question i just bought the mono box! and im so happy about it but i listened to it with headphones in the computer and i compared the sngs to the stereo 85 masters and obviously it is a difference but it is not too much, is the difference bigger when you listen to the records in a good pair of speakers??

  • yes.

  • When you listen to mono in "big speakers in your room" it will sound much more living and breathing than it will in "headphones".

  • Looks like I'm going to have to find a way to get my hands on the mono albums (namely, Sgt.Peppers). (by the time I get enough money to buy it, they'll be outta stock seeing how their limited edition) Maybe I'll borrow it from a friend!

  • @ anderzom, the reason why " Yellow Submarine'' , '' Abbey Road'' and '' Let It Be'' aren't in mono because The Beatles didn't do a mono mix. In the 1960's , the end of the 1960's , stereo was now the dominat ( sp) format for record players.

  • haha good video and yes the answer is mono, but I think that japan boxes are better, the stereo have a plastic bag on the cds... for protect him... the usa have problems with that, the discs can be scratch...

I stil dont undestand this on mono:

Help! (CD also includes original 1965 stereo mix)+

Rubber Soul (CD also include original 1965 stereo mix)+

    ????????

and Let it Be dont exist on mono right?

    and not Abbey Road rigth?

    ???????

  • yeh the main reason for the no abbey or lte it be is beacause they werent recorded in mono

  • Hey John Montagna you are amazing. Did you purchase the mono set in the end, and if so doesn't Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds blow your mind in mono, that voice effect, wooo

  • thanx scolariphil! santa got me the mono box for xmas, not long after this video was made. and yes, the mono LITSWD is a real treat .
