  • I only know Bennie Wallace from the absolutely positively atrocious piece Green Yellow which they play quite often on the avant garde channel of jazzradiodotcom. I have to say this is better (a bit).

  • Great performance, great trio. I've been listening to Bennie since his album with Sco on Blue Note was issued. He's really somethin' else! And Alvin Queen... what a mofo!

  • His approach is similar to Johnny Griffin

  • Fantastic! I wish Bennie would make more records and play around more. Been listening to him since is first Enja LP

  • This cat is nice, has kind of a Johnny Griffin energy to his playing.

  • I love Bennie Wallace. He palys his lines beautifully. He should be introduced to the world more than this :(

  • wallace is one crazy cat, really bizarre

  • i think this is loosely based on the old standard "all the things you are" and it's really terrific what wallace has done with the old warhorse. he really shines in the trio format as he is damn close to being a free player. most of the recordings of his that i've heard that feature keyboards he seems a little hemmed in. this is fantastic though.

  • Hi Adam Rafferty here. I play with Bennie regularly. We played a concert today. This tune THANGS is a 3/4 head that is entirely based on All the Things. It only sounds loose becasue it is so freaky. You could play all the changes to the tune it fits perfectly.

  • jeez, i love this performance.

how was the show today? was it a trio?

  • Excellent trio !!

  • WOW!!! Very original, important music. The old and the new together.

  • Are there any transcriptions of that song yet, like those sheets in the Realbook, with bars, main melody and chords? Very faszinating melody, very faszinating rhythm.

  • from "All the Things You Are"?

great group, you guys obviously play together quite a bit

  • Ein super Trio, super Location, super Musik. Vielen Dank für diesen Einblick in den Saxophonhimmel. Sofort fünf Sterne!

Macht mal schön zu der CD noch eine DVD ...
