I have to admit, that thing is crazy... never seen anyone do this type of setup with the blower.. Sounds really good too... thats the way a v6 should sound. Im hoping to get that out of my Thunderbird SC 3.8 with the pair of MAC flowpaths i got.
@Buickonthedragstrip Not sure on the exact model #- we tried multiple mufflers from various brands that day to get the quietest thing we could to keep from getting pulled over- plus it was like 4 or 5 years ago, so they may not even sell the same one anymore. The one that looks most similar from their website is the #14278, but I could be wrong...
@SirBoxer03 I won't ever sell it; she was my first car, and I've got other cars for daily drivers that I would get rid of first. On top of that, I know I'd lose too much money in the mods even doing a demod sale first, that it just wouldn't be worth it. I definitely never built the car with the intent on making money on a resale, that's for sure.
Honestly, gas mileage has suffered- I'd imagine mostly because of the cam. I want to say the one time I checked it, I was getting about 15mpg city (compared to the 21-22 I used to get in my nearly stock GTP).
Love the car Chad, it sure had come a long ways since I last seen it back at the Ultimate Monte Meet 3 in 2005! Any new progress on it? Have it out at the track yet at all?
Thanks! Just moved across country- progress has stopped until we get a house/garage- but I've still been collecting parts. Haven't been to the track either b/c the car needs some of the new parts to run properly (like the new lower adaptor/ intercooler from Yella Terra).
We were trying to diagnose some issues, and wanted to eliminate the supercharger from the equation- ended up still doing it, which lead us to finding the adaptor plate for the whipple not sealing.
Nope, if you look about 1:08, you can see it blowing the weeds out of the exhaust. The crossover pipe had a leak up front, thats why it gets a bit louder in the vid when I walk across the front, but otherwise- its all coming out the back.
ohh ok, i've been considering this swap on my Z34, how much did the whole thing cost you? i feel like the harder thing to do is to find a GTP under 2 grand xD
Cost me more than normal due to the extra parts and extra work- a stock L67 swap should be able to be done for under $2k total. You don't need the whole car, just the powertrain- you don't even use the wiring or axles, so there is no point getting a whole car. I've seen complete powertrains (L67+4t65HD) go for $500- just depends on what kindof mileage you want on it.
The back window is 5%, back corners are 20%, and side windows are 35%.... probably going to end up redoing it all in fresh 5% since its not my daily driver anymore- so I'm not as worried about getting pulled over for it.
WOW! Was this a a kit?

does your headers hook into one piece at the back or is it two to one ?
JcTheKillaClown 1 year ago
@JcTheKillaClown The headers combine to go into a single downpipe right at the firewall- actually just about like the stock exhaust does.

why does the whole back end look different from mine? i have a 96 LS

@bumpin96monte would you ever sell it? And hypothetically let's say you were going to sell it for whatever reason, cuz you needed the money or w/e...
How much would you sell it for?

it only sounds nice cause the exhaust is not hooked up xD

huh? The exhaust is hooked up all the way to the back- its DPP headers straight piped back to the single Mangaflow muffler.

oh really? sounds like its coming straight off the headers lol
