Going by your logic, humans should only have sex to procreate and not use contraceptives, stop having sex after the required number of kids are born. It's disgusting to you becaue im assuming you are straight and more importantly narrow minded. It has been established that homosexuality is not a disorder, but a preference. There was a time when lust was considered aboherrent, now it's not. Societal mores keep changing.
