also another thing that I dont like about this movie was at close to the ending , when that guy who claims to be the worlds most smartest man beats both rorscharch and night owl and then catches a bullet with his bare hands, I mean really where did this guy get super powers from and this is straight from out of no where. I thought doctor manhatten was the only one to have super powers.

and then right at the end when manhatten kills rorscharch I just though that was just total bullshit

@Zacharia10F1vE Catching the bullet wasn't due to superpowers. It's about the technique. Like chopping a brick with your hand, or kicking a door in half. Ozymandias would be in better health than Rorschach, who was living out on the streets, fighting to survive and evading the law. Or Nite Owl, who had retired from superhero work and was a middle aged man during the fight.

Dr Manhatten killed Rorschach because he wouldn't compromise to keep Ozymandias's utopia together. So he had to kill him.

@xtatictimes4ever Also, Dr Manhatten killed Rorschach because Rorchach wanted him to do it. Rorschach didn't want to blow the whistle on Adrian but he knew his moral code wouldn't allow him to stay silent.

You gotta admit - for someone who only sees life as black or white, right or wrong, good or evil Rorschach is a very complicated person.

I will admit the trailer was interesting and it gets you pump up for the film , but sadly the movie is not as good as the trailer makes it out to be, its just dissapointment and over all I just didnt like it at all. and the two main reasons for disliking it are Number 1 doctor manhatten who doesnt seem to give a damb about people or his actions. and two the comedian who is just pure evil and not an appealing character at all, I dont want to know anything about this evil rapist.

Assuming that one hasn't read the graphic novel just because they liked the movie isn't very good reasoning.

I hated this movie because I just think Zack Snyder is terrible at his job. IMO, the movie is drawn out and boring. It doesn't offer what the the novel did (and shouldn't expect it to), but this movie failed at something that leaves me with a bad taste. The novel was beautiful, this movie was not.

Can someone tell me why Rorshach tells the blue guy, Dr. Manhatten, to kill him. Rorshach is my favorite character and I would like to know how he died. I would go see the movie to find out, but my dad wont let me see it which sucks.

Rorshach saw things purely in terms of right and wrong. He didn't want to go along with what was a fundamental lie that killed millions, even if it meant saving the rest of humanity. He prefered death to bending to a morality that was flawed in his eyes. Manhattan killed him to uphold the lie for the betterment of the world.

Rorschach is a deeply conflicted character. As Meowmix said, he does not have an ability to see the world in shades of grey. Deep down I suspect in Rorschach's mind he's looking for a release of his emotional pain. In the movie his first plea seems to suggest that. His is a very, very sad story.

i saw th film last nite & got admit it was as if th comic had been literally placed on th screen. Dnt think this will be every 1s cup of tea,but if u love superheroes wit a bit of grit ,this is 4u. The only gripe i had is that i sat there thinking ive seen this cos it was nearly th same as th comicbook &i was just going thru th motions. Loved Rosarach &The comedian, was hoping Rosarach wouldnt get killed so they could do a sequel. Then again y not just do a prequel about their past adventures.

you're not alone, I agree with you! Granted, I never read the graphic novel, but I still don't think this movie was very good. In a nutshell, it was trying to do too much in too little time, even though the movie is already around 3 hrs long. The gore and sex scenes were unnecessary and distracting. I like Rorschach though :) he's pretty badass.

As for 'The Watchmen' it was the best adult superhero movie I have seen and that says a lot. Take it for what it is and don't compare to what you thought it could be. The original author created a GREAT story that inspired a great movie. It is filled with original and non-original ideas, but still stands alone.

Well they do show many parts of the body multiple times, but the gore probably also requires the 'R'. NOT for kids! Teenagers plus is required! It really ruins the experience of a movie to see someone has brought a child to see an adult movie. Happened at 'Dawn of the Dead' and 'Taken'. Taken wasn't that bad, but they had dead girls in it and it was realistic. The five year old, someone brought, said 'What's wrong with her?'.

It actually has a really entertaining plot, granted the movie is aimed at fans of the comic. Not to say that others wont enjoy it, but if you don't know the story line... the previews look odd. The costumes are intentionally cheesy. What is good about watchmen is it asks good questions. What would've heroes done in American history had they been there? What does wearing a mask do to an average person? It's fairly amazing, hence why it's the most acclaimed graphic novel of all time. Check it out
