  • 40 points on purely jumpers... respect

  • 5:23 is my favorite jumper any player all time i remember watching this game and losing my shit over that shot. dont try that at home kids.only kobe can do that

  • This game might thave been the most representative of his career, at least without context taken into account. This was a dig days of February game, second of back to backs (50 plus points and 2 OT's 24 hours earlier) and despite his knee being like "a log" when he woke up, he has it tended for ten hours and he gets on the court, temporarily robbed of his explosiveness and he gets 40 plus almost entirely on the strength of his shooting stroke and footwork. He showed us that his game had matured.

  • lol blocked twice.

  • this is by far the most skilled basketball player that has ever played the game. best tought shot maker ever, best footwork ever, best fundamentals ever. hes not the flashiest dribbler ever, but is as good at creating space as anyone ever besides MJ i guess. but Kobe's skill is far and away the best.

  • damm this is like watching MJ is purple and gold cuz mj used to always light up jazz in utah

  • 4.40-4.46 that was a michael jordan move LOL i do that all the time the same thing

  • you guys are insane Michael Jordans jumpshot was light years more efficient than Kobe's although i think Kobe's shot is smoother looking=)

  • @NovaRecon1 jordan's shot is more efficient but kobe is still the better outside shooter because difficulty and range.

  • lol @ 5:43 sound like dude was have an orgasm

  • kobes sequence of moves staring at 5:22 was one of the most beautiful things ive ever seen... WOW

  • @BigSAK88 this cat was ballin right here

  • @BigSAK88 i completely agree. on to 5th viewing of that part...

  • why dont u have high quality videos???

when i start my channel I will have SUPERB vids!

  • I really do think this is Kobes best season ever!! The things he did were outa this world!!!!

  • ivan drago with the blocks on kobe! ha!

  • Stupid Shaq had no idea what was before him, Kobe still is the man he doesnt need to do all of this now but he can d this any given night

  • very true....kobe assist rising now...im a laker fan and i think there will be a statue of him outside staples center one day just like magic johsons

  • kobe has never scored 37 or more in 10 straght games, michael jordan did. for the jackasses that brag michael never did 13 straght 35 or more. and michael avg 37.1 that year for 82 games. 37 beats 35

  • go watch michael's game then

  • kobe bitch

  • thing about Kobe is that u can't really say for sure if #8 Raw Kobe was better then todays Kobe..yes he was more raw, more confident at times..with complete game..but todays Kobe even know he has lost a step is still better then anyone. it's a tossup hard to tell..both Kobes are deadly and unstoppable, but today he is tired and needs rest..we will see next season when he is rested.

But to Kobes point he is done scoring a lotta points..maybe sometimes, but he does not have to he paces himself

  • i wanta mention that kobe was 24 at this time just as lebron is right now...and put p 40 plus for the entire month with shaq missing half the season and the lakers having to rally back from countless injury to eventually make the playoffs...before shaq came back again for the last twenty games bryant was avg. 32 8 8 but then deferred to shaq more when he returned

  • the young Kobe was unstoppable, but i think today he is better.

  • 02-03 kobe was unconscious all season long...WOW!!!

  • He is damn good!!!How come he is so good GOD tell me!!!

  • at 1:22 kobe hits the shot, then they show Rick Fox runnin up the floor like he made the shot lol

  • 02-03 kobe was the best n that coming from watching kobe rookie yeah until now.

  • I think Flames his just a little nostalgic about dunking, obviously the most important part of the game.

  • Flames you're an idiot. He's barely any less athletic, but now, twice as cerebral. If you actually watch some games you'll see he scores more effectively than ever through post play. His role has changed from playmaker to scorer, so his rebounding and assists numbers have fallen, it's not strictly a correlation to athleticism. Look to any prior season to 2002 and you'll find, statistically, to be 2002 an outlier... meaning it was one of his most statistically stellar years, along with 2005/2006.

  • kobe is better now. Its not about athleticism and so much speed. Kobe is still one of the quicker guards in the nba and his jumper, handle, passing and IQ are all better now tthan they were in 02-03. The Last time kobe was forced to score because of teammates lack of skill was 05-06 and he averaged 35 a game. He still has that capability.

  • im talking about kobe from 02-03 and 07-08, he was much better in 02-03 because he was faster. That does matter

  • Speed isnt everything. Kobe is in his prime now.

  • its how he played, it matter, when he was athletic he was better. If you watched him in 02-03 you would know that he was better then. He averaged 30/7/6 in 02-03

  • he had a better season but that doesnt mean he was better at that point in his career. they just needed his scoring more then

  • No MVP in 02- 03! Fucking stupid ass voters!!!

  • kobe had shaq in 02-03...kobe tried taking over and the lakers got worse

  • he is scoring on people's faces lol. EYEBALL! too good man. Thanks Kobe for quality basketball for the last 12 years

  • Wow that was absolutely ridicelous. Did you see how hard he was breathin though? Man, just carried em thru this game.

  • The G.O.A.T. If only zones wer not allowed...

  • dude, he can jump a car

  • thats the best nba player ever your watching. what a awesome player!

  • Paul Sunderland at 5:47.

  • if only kobe jumper was still this good.....its still good but it seems as if its getting toupher for hm to make the shots he made back in 02-03...i miss those good old days

  • r u serious kobe is way better than the 02-03 season the only reason u say that is because he is not trying to score all the time now he's getting his teammates involved and that's y they r in the finals i can't believe u said that

  • well...he is better over all now nodoubt but ive noticed his jumper isnt what it used to...and go Lakers!!

  • his jumper is way better now with longer range and the only thing is he doesn't drive as much now but his shooting is way better than before

  • umm do u happen to remember when he hit 12 3pt'rs in one game..and 9 in a row...my point

  • umm do u happen to rember when he went 9-9 in his 52pt game vs the utah jazz in the 06-07 season at home it was in the 3rd quarter

  • my fault it was 11 straight field goals

  • 9 straight 3 ptrs is all jumpshooting..11 straight feild goals is a mix with layups dunks..mid range...but whatever..were both kobe fans..no need to argue

  • true my fault

  • ur a dumbass josette5, kobe in 02-03 was much better in 07-08. He was more athletic and quicker. His stats were also better in 02-03

  • are you kidding me? back then he got chips with shaq which was good, but now hes getting to the finals with little help. And which year did he get MVP?

  • he was still better in 02-03. He was much younger and more athletic. He averaged 30/7/6 in 02-03

  • That doesn't make any sense. I don't think Jordan was better in '87 than he was in '93 or '96 just because he was more athletic and had better stats. Same applies to any great player who gets smarter and better over time.

  • did u see the block

  • is k kal 9 the la local lakers broadcasting?

  • yea shit

  • amazing shots

  • Best perimeter shooter in the history of the game...period

  • kobe is the best outside shooter in nba history... jordan can not match wat kobe can do

  • lol nice sarcasm

  • Michael was better defender and also jordan didn't need his jump shot in his 20's.

  • thats true... but i think the reason mj didnt use the j as much is because he knew he wasnt that much of a shooter early on i think kobe developed the jumpshot earlier than jordan did thats why

  • @fcpclaudiomoreira Kobe is the greatest outside shooter in nba history? that is probably one of the stupidest things ive ever heard. maybe you mean SCORER but not shooter. Have you ever heard of ray allen or reggie miller

  • @LAKERFAN141 im pretty sure he meant to say scorer.

  • @LAKERFAN141 yeap i agree he is definitely not the best shooter in terms of shooting % . but i think he is one of the best at getting shots off the dribble.

  • @fcpclaudiomoreira By a slight landslide, but Jordan is the G.O.A.T. No one will ever touch him.

  • @fcpclaudiomoreira Best outside shooter? I'll give you one more attempt to rephrase that.

  • @fcpclaudiomoreira jordan is a better shooter than kobe

  • @fcpclaudiomoreira best outside shooter? ray allen, dirk, reggie? i think u mean to say scorer but jordan has that locked up with bernard king.

  • Give me name commentator please

  • who carezzzzzzzzzzzzzz if it workz it workz lol

  • haha exactly

  • who carezzzzzzzzzzzzzz if it workz it workz lol

  • damn kobe got owned by ak47 in some points in his carrer.......but in 06-07 kobe has figured out how to get his shots off better against him

  • watch at 5:22. that move was sick!!!

  • Jordan was far more consistent with his perimeter game than Kobe. I would say they are equal in a pure shooting sense, but Jordan knew how to get more quality looks than Kobe. I swear Kobe takes tough shots on purpose to test himself.

  • I totally agree. 'Couldn't put it better myself.

  • in your face K.A

  • all i have is one thing to say

kobe will never be better than MJ

  • These guys that think MJ is a better outside shooeter than Kobe...dont know what the hell they are talking about...They need to watch more than the occasional ABC Lakers game. Kobe is EASILy a better outside scorer than Jordan.. ar eyou kidding me?

  • the best shooter of all time? WTH? and that comment was pretty correct in terms of mj has kobe 18 feet and in. But futher back, you could say kobe was better. Also, this was in fact kobe's peak year imo because of the balance he had shooting 3's and getting to the rack.

  • Comments were disabled when I watched this video.

    Thanks.

  • Maybe I'm not the Kobe expert like some of you guys are but wouldn't you say Kobe was at his peak physically in 02-03? His first step was more explosive than ever, his baseline-to-baseline speed terrific and his hops + overall finishing at the basket was great too. From 00-02 he was probably more agile but as an OVERALL athlete(speed, quickness, explosiveness, strength etc) I'd say he peaked in 02-03.

  • To SPMJ: His overall peak was 2002-2003, because of his athleticism.

  • if you peak physically.. that doesnt mean you are your peak.... Basketball isnt just about your athleticism.... the most athletic players are rarely th ebest players..

  • And people think I'm crazy because I say he is the best shooter ever.

  • r u high KB42PAH im mean were u on that stuff because KOBE BRYANT IS NOT THE BEST SHOOTER THE best shooter is LARRY BIRD u idiot and yes u r crazy

  • WOW @ the move starting 5:22. So many tough jumpers in this game from Kobe. He's definitely the greatest tough jump shot maker I've seen.

  • ever heard of michael jordan?

  • I'd say MJ's a better shooter than Kobe from abt 12-18 feet, 18-21 is a tossup, and Kobe's definitely got the edge outside of 21 feet. Calling him the greatest shooter ever is probably a stretch(I'd say he's Top 10). He's a very streaky 3pt shooter and his career % from there is very mediocre. I must say though I've never seen a player nail those 20-22 footers with the ease Kobe has the last few seasons.

  • ok well im assuming u havent seen any michael jordan games because jordan makes the most ridiculous shots look so easy

  • micahel jordan isn't close to the greatest shooter of all time. Not sure kobe is, but he definitely has a better shot than michael. jordan probably has the edge on the drive

  • Wow, he single-handedly carried LA this game. The shot at 5:20 is ridiculous, his jumper is on lock during this game. Kobe is so talented, it's not even fair. Looking forward to the rest of the streak!

  • yea i watch ever game of the streak on tv it was just phenomenal thanks man

  • LOL when you said it was comin earlier, lol, I thoguht you ment by like Friday or soomethin...thank u, now the 40 vs Sonics and the entire streak will be on youtube courtesy of you, KB42PAH and couple of others.
