When you have a welfare system, "wages" are the difference between what the recipient receives already, and what the employer pays. On this basis, the wages being offered to many of our underclass are non-existent, as there is no financial advantage in working. You couldn't invent a better way of keeping the working-classes at the bottom. The progressives must remember: good intentions will not necessarily have good consequences.
