  • amazing jam band. if you like old school oar check out "emergency service band" - "when i go"

  • I want to see these guys live so bad! Love the new album and the song/video for Heaven!

  • I've watched this a couple times but somehow I never noticed the guy run on stage right near the end of Jerry's solo

  • 35 people got bludgeoned by a saxophone when they were children.

  • @modestomorgasm

    what the hell? hehe

  • I saw this concert about 7 years ago with a friend of mine who passed away this last weekend and forever all these songs will be remind me of him; most of all this one. In the end when we're all together again. Til then we'll all miss the hell out of you. RIP

  • *cough* Go Phish! *cough*

That being said, I had my hayday with OAR back in high school

  • We are asking for your love and support. Building Futures Autism clinic therapists and all of our very best friends and family will be at the House Of Blues Myrtle Beach 10/26 for your show. We would be honored if you mention Keller's name, and the need to support Autism and local charity in Myrtle Beach. We have raised almost $4000 in just 3 weeks for this sweet lil man. Rock on and God Bless.

  • such a great party song. if you guys like this check out "Emergency Service Band" - "Freight Train"

  • Cranking this song ...having a few beers.....doesn't get much better...

  • This should be played at an extremely high volume.

  • eargasm

  • I cannot get enough of this song, this is my favourite version.

  • awesome

  • rebecca black's friday has 58,000,000 views. this has 765,323.... something is wrong in the world

  • @mikeC103207 That displays the sad state of music today. But that is just fine with me ... O.A.R. is bliss. I listen to O.A.R. and it takes me to another world - I slip into a state of musical chemistry at its finest. Rebbecca Black ?? Who the fuck is that? She'll never touch O.A.R.

  • sean maloney rules!

  • Want genre of music is this considered?

    Alternative ?

  • @psnTurok35 O.A.R. is a jam band. They're kinda alternative, kinda indie, a slight reggae feel... they're just who they are, which is amazing.

  • @dragonfly1834

they are unique and we love them for it. are they still touring?

  • @psnTurok35 Always. Check them out on Facebook to find out tour dates. I can't wait to catch them again.

  • @dragonfly1834

    ok. thanx mate

  • Every one is intitled to there own oppinion I dont understand why someone would not enjoy hearing O.A.R. at all every time I hear them It takes me to a warm time and place when the weather is perfect and is relaxing just great memories they just are so up beat and make me smile and yes I can agree with all you that say the SAX player is not amazing but he fits this style of play so well and works perfect in the system they have.

  • this song will bring oar on top of the world

  • I wouldn't say that sax player is phenomenal, there's plenty more better than him, but he's good for the band. He repeats everything he does.

  • @letshakehands The Sax gives the band a classy touch.

  • thats a tenor

  • Is thar an alt or tenor sax?

  • Get the audio from this tune at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • come to CAAAAGOOOOOO please

  • I'm sitting here in awe listening to O.A.R.

    :) Simply perfect.

  • i got the chills when he said, "can we be united tonight just as people" i love oar they are the only band that can give me the chills, now i know what bob marley was talking about when he said "one good thing about music is when it its you, you feel no pain", I JUST GOT HIT HARD!

  • @bjrqiup hits*

  • wow

  • that's sooo cool that people are runnin on stage lol

  • Every time I listen to O.A.R. I start to move and feel joy.

  • One of the greatest live bands EVER!!!!!!!

  • 26 people were having such a good time listening to the SEX of jerry depizzo's saxaphone and accidentally hit the dislike button.

  • @UIWCardinalArmy Bwahahaha!

  • Saw them at Jones Beach in NY, like 5th row, and they DESTROYED IT!! WOOP WOOP

  • i love you oar.

  • back before OAR fuckin sucked

  • @RHSlax21 amen brother

  • I want to see OAR so bad.

Those of you who were fortunate enough to see them, I envy you!

    Damn great band.

  • i was at this concert, right before they fucking sold out

  • All they need is like 10 more hits and they can make it into thr Rock & Roll HALL OF FAME !!!

  • something like 6:38 sure sounds like a squeak, but you are all correct, the saxophone player is damn good. but ya know, so is the band, even the drummer. i dont think i heard him stop solid sixteenth notes moving up and down the cymbals and drums for all 7 minutes and 23 seconds. that is also impressive cuz thats a hell of a lot of music to memorize.

  • but this is a great performance. saw them at merriweather and i was chanted constantly for them to play this lol

  • Clarence clemons of the e street band is the best saxaphone in my opinion. this is the best i have ever seen. a little dated but u all would appreciate it.

    youtube.com/watch?v=mgnXTh5xru8&p=7ECC0D48F15140C5&playnext=1&index=16

  • Love the bow he gives to the guy on the stage

  • His solo from their live at madison square was a tad better

  • so did they graduate from ohio state?

  • oar ROCKS!

  • this kills shattered

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what a damn good song, round of applause to oar

  • best O.A.R song ever

  • Wish they would slow it down and do some quality stuff. Their tempo is so erratic it loses people. Knopfler could teach them a lot.

  • @gcwagoner yeah it seems to have lost alot of people...oh wait...never mind they have plenty of fans...

  • I got tix july 21st columbus ohio

  • I have to say that I didn't fully appreciate these guys until about a year ago. By now, the music is a mainstay of my life. Thanks, O.A.R.

  • They didn't get any publicity because they suck as musicians. All their songs have the same tone, style, flavor, what ever you want to call it. They completely lack any substance to their songs. Then again, this is coming from someone who listens to the sound of a song first before lyrics.

Their structure to songs is simple and rehashed. They don't deserve any more popularity then they already have. I've listen to Widespread Panic any day over this overrated disaster.

  • @aoakampfer how can you say poker has no substance? the structure is amazing and the fact you like widespread panic over any band seriously detracts from your credibility

  • @aoakampfer wow ... you're a real idiot.

  • agree with brutisgray03. most people dont even know who they are and many only see o.a.r. playing shattered and this town. their good songs but all sides is not what o.a.r. is about. theyre the most skilled band around now a days, too bad theyre not more known

  • I absolutely love this song! =D

  • Song brings back good memories of college days. Beer pong, women, beer, and oar blasting in the back ground. cant believe they never got the publicity the deserved.

  • I love O.A.R. such original music and not like the sell out shit made now

  • maybe you should blow him.

  • I love this song! I saw O.A.R. live at the Byron Bay Blues Festival in Australia, and thought they were fantastic. Unfortunately, I can't find their albums in any stores locally.

  • marc is my cousin i know the whole band sax is jerry modestomorgasm

  • i like how the main singer will go from being bored as hell when he sings, to extremely passionate ahaha

  • Agreed, Leroi Moore was the man myth and legend of the sax. RIP

  • Amazing......can't get enough OAR! Absolutely amazing. Anyone know when they play Syracuse NY or Upstate?????? I could use a little OAR in my life right now!!!!!!!!

  • @smitter2271

They're at SPAC in early August.

  • Thumbs up if your from Moco and love OAR!

  • jesus+chuck norris = O.A.R. sax player

  • OAR you can clearly tell learned a lot from DMB however they took it in their own unique direction and thats what i like about them. They don't have the talent DMB and company have but the have the desire and personality and they sound excellent.

  • If he wants to scat let him, it is so sick and O.A.R. is amazing

  • i think i was here... amazinggggggg!!!

  • No comparing to Dave, if you try your crazy they are so good in their own way. Better than most of the American Idol dorks now .... Back when bands had to try and make it in real life. Remember those days

  • ska?

  • What is an OAR?

  • @hotgal1985 Of A Revolution

  • Great musicians: ) Great.

  • u guys can all go pound sand, buncha fat dorks on here talking shit still trying to get over

  • @modestomorgasm have you ever heard a real sax player?

  • this rocks but its a def. rip off from dave....i mean just watch it,but still good tho

  • It's only bands like O.A.R and EARTH CULTURE that really kick ass

  • Don't make this a battle of bands between Dave and oar. Just enjoy the song and chill out.

  • O.A.R is the shit live at sandstone they played a 5 song encore jerry is fucking awesome

  • does anyone know where i could find the sheet music for the saxophone piece?

  • @christix68x09 Have you tried just transcribing it? It sounds pretty easy to transcribe... for instance, the beginning chorus riff is D---D---D---B-A-D-E-F#. Also, if it helps, most of the stuff he's playing is in D major (concert C major).

  • @#VIDUPLOADERID# - next time include a download link. i got it from tubemusicdownload com if that helps you guys.

  • I been looking all over for this group this is great

  • Dude, the sax player isn't good, he's phenomenal. I listen to people play their respective instruments all day every day, and I've yet to see somebody with as good of a combination of talent and love for the art as he has.

  • leroi moore had more of both then he does

  • Agreed 100%

  • @pinkfloydfan951753

I totally agree, but leroi would've loved this guy, if he already didn't and he'd totally respect him for puttin' it all out there. Everyone in DMB and I'm betting in OAR respect what everyone is doin' as long as they're being their real selves and not puttin' out for money.

  • @pinkfloydfan951753 damn, its tough to even think of leroi it so sad.

  • @pinkfloydfan951753 the Groo Grux King lives on.

  • @pinkfloydfan951753 amen to that

  • Forever in our memory - a great sax'er - a great person

  • @pinkfloydfan951753 lets not forget the big man...

  • There was a band that played this at a variety show at our high school a few nights ago, the sax player sounded just as good if not better. Maybe because he had a custom z, but he was good.

  • Idk if you watch or listen to Dave Matthews Band at all. But their saxaphonist is probably the best I've ever heard. Unfortunately he passed away in 2008 i believe. Check them/him out if you haven't already

  • @modestomorgasm Leeroy from DMB was amazing, but i agree with you this guy is great too

  • @modestomorgasm

I saw O.A.R. live at Red Rocks 2 nights ago. You are correct. The sax literally blew me away. It must take a great set lungs to perform the way he does night after night.

  • @pronate22 And Jerry smokes

  • @foots7 who is jerry?

  • @pronate22 you don't blow with your lungs. you blow with your diaphram.

  • @pronate22 I was at that show as well...What an amazing venue, and the show was phenomenal...Was not a big O.A.R. fan before that, but I'll definitely check them out again.

  • @modestomorgasm...leroi moore

  • @modestomorgasm LeRoi was the greatest. Period.

  • @droopy8951 LeRoi Moore :)))))))

  • @modestomorgasm And hes wearing a T-Shirt.

  • @modestomorgasm Agreed! I would recommend checking out a sax player who goes by Mr. Woodnote. He plays with an incredible artist called DubFX. Search: DubFX specifically the song 'flow' for a good taste of his swag.

    Cheers, mate

  • yeah, the sax player is very good. The little honk towards the end is just what happens when you blow your ass off and can't hear yourself.

  • that guy just wanted to jam

  • lol @ 5:53

  • nah, i don't think so

  • come back to Australia

  • he messed up a little bit, but he is an amazing sax player and still kicks ass, great song

  • I play that style of music on the sax, its actually really common to make "odd" noises on purpose, its kinda how blues and jazz arent always exactly on the beat. its just a little "off" but its meant to be that way :)

  • take it to the city on down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • God, I love this band. I don't know why more people aren't into them.

  • I think they lost their credence for being an 'underground' bad, and their songs which jam-band catchy sing-alongs like this, became more slow / poppy. Unfortunately, those poppy songs never became especially big hits.

  • Nah it was good accept for the one mess up.

  • sax at the end was HORRIBLE

  • yeah he lost it there at the end of his 2 min solo, but DAMN it was a good solo. i've heard lots of dif versions of this song and this is by far my fav.

  • i wouldnt say HORRIBLE, i'd say he just had a little screw up. For how intense and emotional that sax playing is to me, a little screw up is just fine. Nobody discredits vocalists from screaming even though sometimes (usually) it sounds like shit

  • Comment removed

  • just saw them 2 days ago, this song was so much better, had a lot more sax in it they re-did the intro a bit, it was money.

  • where did you see them?? there not touring

  • Im a student at Lock Haven University and they are playin here tonight

  • yeah they were touring.... with Elmwood.... Dallas HoB like the 14th of octoberish

  • OAR back in the day '02-'05 was desc, good excuse to booze and dance but all in all fairly mediocre musicians... "new material is the new sound theyve been looking for, as they mature".... commercial!

  • did the sax player mess up towards the end

  • yeah im the guy that went on stage...sweet memories

  • what'd they do to u afterwards? ;-)

  • woah lol

I was told I look like the sax player from this band and tht person is apparently correct.

I might go buy a tenor now :P

  • get an album from ebay or amazon, or any other online store that sells albums.

  • great

  • buy the album, stop looking online

  • where can you get he album ?

  • a store...

  • why cant i find oar recorded.. aka not live

  • you can... buy a cd...

  • @arrwupstt1252 i know that is so bogus

  • i'm seeing them november 8th... cant wait

  • i love oar. Whenever I mention them to people I get a blank stare back...

  • not anymore really. even my parents know oar now...

i guess i just remember 2000-2001 when NOONE knew them :P

  • another pachabels canon chord progression rip.

  • Can we be united as consumers and all buy this album??

  • WORD I WAS THERE.

  • i love oar. not so crazy about their newest album, but i like alot of their old stuff its great. Especially the sax player, he is amazing.

  • is thier any concert in maryland

  • no, new jersey

  • gotta love 3:25

  • I love OAR when are they coming to california?? I cant find any info on cali oar concert dates...

  • they played in cali like 8 times at the beginning of 2009...

  • I agree... I am having OAR withdrawals... Last time they were in the bay area was last christmas I think

  • hells yea jus won tickets on the radio to see these guys. usually see jerry jam with mike perkins, really nice guy and one helluva sax player

  • I'm just hearing about this band today. I'm a busker and everyone in the subway today (below MSG) was talking about OAR.

I never even heard of these guys, never heard this song on the radio. How did they get so popular?

  • We'll their old stuff never got much playing time...which is why a lot of people liked it. And it helps that they are amazing in concert.

And then their newest CD "All Sides" got a couple songs on mainstream so that got more people turned on to them.

Its kinda the same thing as Dispatch...great concerts to go to and great music to listen to no matter what genre you usually like

  • Word of mouth and a couple of their songs are in movies. For example, the song Love and Memories is in teh movie She's tha Man.

  • concert tomorrow in boston! so stoked

  • will be seeing them in alpharetta, GA next friday on the 21st! not as good as MSG, but awesome nonetheless

  • Me too! tickets are cheap so me and a few friends are goin to head that way for the concert.
