I have been a scrutineer in 2 elections, have handed out how to vote cards etc., and have spoken to members of other parties. I have come to the conclusion that there is really only one political party in Australia with many different names to create the illusion of choice. Any group that is too small cannot create true change, any group that is big enough to create true change is also big enough to be infiltrated, and and brought down from within.
In a democracy, obviously small groups will inevitably have small power. Actually that's kind of the point.
And Australian prime minister seem to always be big reformers for better or worse, compare it to the UK, where the labour party seems to go on and go and get nothing done.

Ever seen someone arrested or fined for having porn in QLD, NSW or VIC? Wonder why it hasn't happened? Because its not illegal to own porn. Its restricted in who can sell it, that is all.

They'll not block the other material, they'll just discriminate against sexual minorities. I think a good case can be made for discrimination here.

It's not even possible, by the way. If the government tried implementing it as it's presently written, the list would be too big to manage and the amount of censorship would throw the party into oblivion. I give it a year if it gets through before it is repelled. It's a form of Prohibition. I voted Greens at the last election because Rudd claimed 'to be more conservative', compromising the good. And now it turns out some religious ext. is trying to stop adults from watching porn under a ruse.

If the Liberals are against it, it won't get through. Labor better have a change of heart, otherwise they're going at the bottom of my preference right beside the Liberal party. I'll be voting for all the minor parties, but I expect at least some Liberals to vote for the plan. Even they haven't been that outspoken about it, why do you think that is? They have been pretty mute about it despite going on the warpath. Howard wanted it, all I hope is that Rudd has been sleeping about Conroy's plan.

They actually have the right to censor out all porn involving actual sexual intercourse. Only if it's 'simulated'; whatever the hell that is, even then it needs an age disclaimer. I find it immensely offensive to lump consensual adult sexual intercourse in with violent crimes and child sexual exploitation. This filter is going to sprawl out enormously. Also, Conroy is a part of the right wing of the party. He is strongly catholic, so this policy is not Commie or Socialist, fact.

I have been a scrutineer in 2 elections, have handed out how to vote cards etc., and have spoken to members of other parties. I have come to the conclusion that there is really only one political party in Australia with many different names to create the illusion of choice. Any group that is too small cannot create true change, any group that is big enough to create true change is also big enough to be infiltrated, and and brought down from within.

And Australian prime minister seem to always be big reformers for better or worse, compare it to the UK, where the labour party seems to go on and go and get nothing done.
I think our system is as functional as you could expect it to be.

When I think of the Labor party, it really does shit me to tears. Firstly, they make Australia go into massive debt by giving money tp people that don't deserve or need it (by which I mean their dead or in prison) whilst other people that truly need it don't get a cent because they cant afford to pay tax.
