  • I saw this just ONCE! And STILL remember it to-day! I didn't think i was dreaming or hallucinating...It really DID (does?) exist!

So tell me...what about the history of the Swirling Star? When Taft owned Hanna-Barbera, the star was apparently a Taft property. Were there any other Taft-owned studios that used this? And when H-B split from Taft, was the star sold to H-B, or what?

    Thanx fer the clip, m8..

  • Thanks. Haven't seen this in AGES..

  • ....as seen at the start of "The Running Man"

  • The Boogens aired on Turner Classic Movies this past early Saturday morning and it had a Paramount "blue mountain" logo at the beginning and the end of the film.

  • I think that taft may have dissolved, and given the logo to HB.

  • so what did this company do besides the boogens?

  • Does Paramount Pictures own the rights to the cult horror film The Boogens?

  • Wow, I didn't know Taft used the swirling star logo for a division other than H-B.

  • Shocked me. It seemed out of place for them to use it elswhere too

  • Taft still owned H-B at the time this logo was used, hence the connection.

  • This is cool!

  • This logo is the same as Hanna-Barbera Productions (now Cartoon Network Studios) during the 1980s.

  • Nope. Hanna-Barbera Cartoons (the animation division) was folded into Warner Bros. Animation. Hanna-Barbera is now an in-name-only holding company for its cartoons.

  • Oh, I see. Thanks.

  • Actually, he's right. That is INDEED the HB Swirling Star that aired at the end of Smurfs & Scooby Doo.

  • I was correcting him when he was saying "Hanna-Barbera Cartoons (now Cartoon Network Studios)"

  • But that's Taft's logo to begin with.

  • to add there were two Cartoon Network Studios one was created under Hanna Barbera to produce the first episodes of Dexter's Laboratory and other world Premiere Toons in 1995 but were a subsidary of HB under Turner. Later they Dissolved CN studios switching to the HB banner. then, CN ressurrected the name for ALL CN originals (and HB created CN originals from the 90s) as HB (the studio)was folded into WB in the early 2000s so the non CN HB material is now part of Warner Bros. as ShaDeed said

  • I see.

  • This is on the cult classic, "The Boogens"

  • Very gory R rated horror film.

  • 5/5!
