She does not have mental problems. If you watch Teen Titans and see the Phantom of the Opera movie, it reminds you of Slade. Especially when Robin uncovers Slades mask and he has a skull for a face. It's not THAT weird... i mean, Slade just SCREAMS Phantom, and most of the Titans aren't exactly unaffected by him, especially Raven and Terra.
