I dont understand how he does it ! Maybe it´s because I´m really bad at playing any musical instrument. Greatest guitar I´ve ever heard along with Eddie van Halen, who plays not as good but catches up with the creativity !
i can imagine a city in ruins...ppl around...helpless...saddened by death and misery...and yet slowly building the city again...and d buildings rising higher n higher...slowly...but steady...and ppl with nothing but hope and faith in their hearts......when i listen to this song.
Look at the picture more closely. You will see med kits, people, a wheelchair, helicopters, crutches, what looks like pianos, a doctor thingamabob that lets you listen to people's hearts, and submarines.
@DDETHKUBEKK i know how to play 99% of it, but not written yet, the only part that is not 100% correct is from 1:02 - 1:22, except this little part everything is totally correct
this man got heart, even though we never hear him speak, this proves he has a heart of gold, not many musicians that have such an awesome reputation make an album completely based upon a natural disaster. God bless you buckethead, may you life be long and prosperous :)
Sometimes it's the only way, i find that most if not all his music has soul, has heart, or tells a story. Acoustic shards has to be my favorite though. :D
@ghetto926 I understand that too becuase it's the first time I ever felt innercommunication. I love that this exists on our planet! Total Space Rock! @Buckethead if you read this your next tour would be cool if you were the pilot of a space ship and your stage looked like a cockpit.
@polipoli8 Hahahaha, we can try... I also called it sweeping picking when it's arpeggios =x it's baffled me so much I don't even know what to call it.
@polipoli8 Actually we can, Buckethead's skill is achievable. Well sort of, it's all about the mentality, if we believe in ourselves and try hard enough, almost anything is impossible. But Buckethead has some kind of natural god given talent, something he got from birth or something, just like John Bonham, no one will ever be like him, even though they may be equal or greater in a different way.
@maitrekenshin93 I've listened to almost every buckethead song out there, I know almost all of them and there are a lot I can play and there are some I can't. There are some speed licks i can do but this is not one of them. So I know about almost all of his stuff.
@M47riX1 Haha, I've heard all of his stuff from back to praxis and young buckethead but i can't do arpeggios D: if you could share how it's easy i'd greatly appreciate it haha
@dka0314 hm, i don't understand why everybody says that arpeggios are so hard, i mean sure there are extremly hard arpeggio techniques but this one in that song is pretty easy ;-)
ive been listenning to tons of bucketheads work and i am a big fan.
today i was listenning to Soothsayer, Final Wars, Sail on Soothsayer, Crack the Sky and found this song...
i havent cried in 4 years but today was the day that record got broken, i felt anxious, sad, and anguish all of it due to bucketheads story the way he does stuff and the fact that people ignore him even tho hes so tallented... whats the fucking matter if he has a bucket on his and moves funny, hes still a god damn genious
@matosdiogo12 "quote"-->hes still a god damn genious-... if someone could make a 'musical awesomeness spectrometer' , (thing that i've never seen before btw xD ) , the gag would start shining and jumping all over the place and then explode with the power of a supernova lol , thats why Buckethead's power is and will be unknown for many people =D ... luckyly some humans can appreciate his music without the needing of that 'gag' ^^ xD but, well, i supose honey is not made for the taste of donkeys :D
@matosdiogo12 That type of person is called a hipster. They're preferences aren't based on anything legitimate; merely things that they percieve as non-mainstream. People see the Bucket, how he performs, how he plays, and they assume he must be popular. Hence, they dislike him, because they think he does it all for attention. These people haven't even looked into Buckethead; they just scratch the surface.
What they don't realize is Buckethead is NOT popular, first of all; he's called ALTERNATIVE for a reason (but again, this should not matter). He doesn't do what he does for attention; he does it because it FEELS right. He's developed this persona because that's how he FEELS he is when he plays (just because Superman is flashy doesn't mean Clark Kent is a dick). Furthermore, Bucket-haters don't take the time to actually listen to his songs.
@Aerostoth I just find it pretty funny how you categorize people into a "type of person called a hipster". IMHO the term is overused and people fall victim into being generalized as one when they just have atypical tastes in music. You can't accuse people of only scratching the surface. If they don't like Buckethead, they don't like Buckethead. It's hypocritical to try and act as if our taste in music is superior to another's, even if they do think that Buckethead is some wacky coot.
@Synbinge Wrong, most people think "act" this kind of music sucks because they are afraid to fall out of the group. In this case these people are weak and the ones who can step over it will be superior to the weaker ones... Denied

@videomakertje Did you even read what I wrote? Also, it's _very_ pretentious to claim that your taste in music is 'superior' to someone else. See, there are people out there that use their different from the norm taste in music as a way to boost their ego. It is narrowminded to call people superior or inferior because they are not into the same music you are. You probably have some music which you don't really like. It's the same thing.
@videomakertje When you really push the limits of music, the whole idea begins to open up to you. You don't see superior music or inferior music. Just different music. I grew up in a musical family, one especially geared towards classical music (playing in an orchestra, teaching, etc were and are all things my family did as jobs). It wasn't until a year and a half ago that I really started to understand that music speaks to other people in different ways.
@videomakertje I never liked rap music, and I always though it was pretty stupid (I was the stereotypical metalhead). When I really started challenging myself, it grew on me. Some people in this crowd might wonder what is so 'musical' about it. Well, what is so 'musical' about shredding? Even Pebber Brown (BH's teacher) would admit that shredding isn't very musical. Rap is poetry set to rhythm. I still don't listen to much because I haven't grown up in that culture. But I appreciate it now.
@TheBlackShadow1987 you should'nt do that, i mean, i get every Buckethead song in my library by normal downloads, but i bought this one, i think that's what Buckethead want us to do
@Jazz0Vs0Metal Yeah i know what it's like to to be young dreaming of seeing buckethead... I'm only 19 myself, i just noticed he is playing in your country because i was thinking about going, austria is much closer to me than the US (I'm in the UK) you're not too young to go bella donna if you have couple hundred bucks ;)
well, I learned about this song from youtube and promptly bought it. It's only 0.99. Hopefully, people will rock this out, then do the right thing and purchase it too.
i couldn't be bothered to donate to japan through red cross or anything like that but when i heard buckethead was releasing a song through i tunes and all the money was going to japan, i bought the song straight away
@luraze thinks that impressive? look at his entire career he has a history of releasing entire albums only months even WEEKS after a previous release.
AMAZING AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BUCKETHEAD really play their songs about someone and what makes him what he does not make it but just to use your talent to tributes also forever buckethead
Why would Buckethead want you to buy this song? Pretty much all organizations simply donate to the Red Cross and they decide where the money goes? I love Buckethead but can anyone confirm this for me?

People need to shut the fuck up, so what if he uploaded the song? If anything, that's good. It's all down to the people who rip it, and download it...They have the choice to pay or not, so shut the hell up!
Great song by the way, his guitar is crying as some guy said!
I show a lot of people this song. Even though they did not like buckethead in particular (idk how but you know...) they still bought the song because of what it was written for. 99 cents for a good song and a good cause? Yeah, most people will go for that.
just a random question: why is this song so popular in the country of Laos? (check the stats). Anyway, Big B is so awesome for showing his support with such an amazing song. I will buy the song even though I dislike Itunes.
i was watching the news and it says that the nuclear cloud passed over greece after going into north pole . If it stays there Europe will be in BBBBIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGG trouble
japan is a very respectable enemy, yeah they cuased the U.S. to enter WW2....ending untold numbers of lives....and we ended up handing them their ass in the form of 2 nuclear bombs:)
but they arnt muslims and they act more white then we do. so you know they are good people

well, I learned about this song from youtube and promptly bought it. It's only 0.99. Hopefully, people will rock this out, then do the right thing and purchase it too.

3:45 to 3:53. That's why I love Buckethead. That is so simple yet so amazing.

Great song! I wonder though how he managed to make this song so quickly. It came out like a week after the disaster?

@luraze Perhaps you know not how he works. VERY diligently, lol. He has been known to produce many albums within a single year.

@luraze That's being a real artist ; )

@luraze thinks that impressive? look at his entire career he has a history of releasing entire albums only months even WEEKS after a previous release.

Buy it buy it buy it buy it!And pusch Big B!!!!!!
MrSuperAlptraum 11 months ago
I show a lot of people this song. Even though they did not like buckethead in particular (idk how but you know...) they still bought the song because of what it was written for. 99 cents for a good song and a good cause? Yeah, most people will go for that.
RockOnBuckethead 11 months ago 3
just a random question: why is this song so popular in the country of Laos? (check the stats). Anyway, Big B is so awesome for showing his support with such an amazing song. I will buy the song even though I dislike Itunes.
