Just watched Jack and Jill. The film became much more entertaining when I started playing spot the product placement. Stand out was the Justin Beeber shirt Jonny Depp was wearing.
The worse part about the advertising is it's aimed right at children. It's a PG movie, so if theaters are anything like how they were in the 90s (PG13 Lion King theater was jam packed with kids that under 13), kids much younger than 13 will be hit. The MPAA will never change their rating system to incorporate blatant adverts because separating objects that are just simply there and are brand-name products, from a movie revolving/centering around shameless adverts isn't moral that they can rate.
The advertising in Happy Madison movies is intentionally blatant. Sandler might consider it a "wink, wink" to his audience but I don't think it qualifies as humor.
Ummm does anyone else have an issue with the RedLetterMedia website? When i tried going on there to watch the Star Wars: Episode 3 review, their webside gave me a virus. Something like Wid 7 Antispyware 2011. The thing won't let me go past my home website, then it starts telling me that I have some sort of secutiry problem. This is just a warning to anyone thinking about using their webiste. PM me if you have an answer to this problem or have experianced the same problem.

@gorillapancake we don't have any product placement deals on our show. The meager amount of money we get from a 30 second ad before a show (which can sometimes be up to an hour long) helps us produce the show which costs money to make from the sets to renting our studio to have the set in to paying people for their time and the time editing. We make almost nothing personally each month.

I think it is perfectly understandable if a small independent film company, on top of donations, puts in a little advertisement (which is NOT, by the way, a part of the show) before the show to pay for production/editing expenses. @gorillapancake we don't have any product placement deals on our show. The meager amount of money we get from a 30 second ad before a show (which can sometimes be up to an hour long) helps us produce the show which costs money to make from the sets to renting our studio to have the set in to paying people for their time and the time editing. We make almost nothing personally each month.

I think it is perfectly understandable if a small independent film company, on top of donations, puts in a little advertisement (which is NOT, by the way, a part of the show) before the show to pay for production/editing expenses. I mean, come on, you guys aren't filthy rich corporate whores like Columbia Pictures are. They could afford to make a decent film without raping the integrity of cinema with product placement. Keep the integrity alive RLM!

If it's there, it's unobtrusive! If you're asking RedLetterMedia to put on a show for you for free, then you're being a fool. those cameras, sets, costumes, and man-hours don't just pay for themselves. They deserve to be paid.
