I Totally take back my apology. I still thought I was right. Also from wiki - "It was officially ratified and became effective March 4, 1789." That seems like the correct measure that starts the clock to the bicentennial.
1987 was the year of the constitution bicentennial, which was a big deal back then in that area and in schools, so that's probably the reason for that branding.
"The United States Constitution was adopted on September 17, 1787" - Wikipedia
It was one of the few days I remembered from second grade because we had teachers at my school dress up as signers and we got a bunch of stuff like pencils and stickers with the Constitutional Bicentennial logo on them.

"Your constitution station"?
amnewsboy 3 years ago
Yeah because the constitution was signed in Philly.
sanantonionewsman 3 years ago
I realize that, but that's kinda odd, taking a historical document (signed long before TV was even invented) and claiming it, s'all.
