In order to keep proper balance in the ecosystem, wolves NEED to be there- wolves and other predators.
For all those who may ask why, it's because without these predators, the herbivore population would over grown, even with hunting. The environment of that area would become un healthy, because too many plants would be eaten, to the point where these now over populating herbivores would die off. The meat would be left un-eaten.

I've learned in school that when a species is overpopulated, they run out of food and die, but some survive and when their food comes back, they repopulate. I have been around wolves when I lived up in northern BC , I have seen a large black wolf up close and I remember the night I saw a white wolf during a full moon north of Whistler, BC.

Yes friend, I used to hunt a whole lot. Not so much anymore, but I ate everything or as close to everything as possible that I harvested. Some hunters donate their kill to local homeless shelters and food pantries, that I have no problem with, but I know of not a soul that eats wolves, cougars, or maybe even elephants. I have no problem with trying to outsmart the largest deer in the woods or the most cunning Elk in the mountains, but eat it or give it to someone in need.

Yes friend, I used to hunt a whole lot. Not so much anymore, but I ate everything or as close to everything as possible that I harvested. Some hunters donate their kill to local homeless shelters and food pantries, that I have no problem with, but I know of not a soul that eats wolves, cougars, or maybe even elephants. I have no problem with trying to outsmart the largest deer in the woods or the most cunning Elk in the mountains, but eat it or give it to someone in need.

And don't get too terribly comfortable being the dominant species. With diseases, war, and evolution, anything is possible. We could very well be our own destruction.
