  • As far as I know, Rono had his LP's front face to improve tone and sustain, but... How do removing the first layer of paint improves this?

Really looking for an answer, 'cause I'dl like to make my own tribute to Rono

  • @patapirate - Ronno's was sanded down to the bare wood to give it more top end because it sounded a little too dark. The theory is correct but how much is tonally recognisable might be minimal. It's more for the aesthetic than anything.

  • I am inspired to go buy a used black Les Paul and do this..!!! (Summer project)

  • No point replacing the pickups just for the look, just get those covers off! Also, you need two gold reflector knobs and two blacks for tones. Neck finish needs to be partially sanded off.

  • 'Width of a circle' is the song this solo is from...During the ziggy period they jammed this out this way where the solo doesnt exist on diamond dogs... Man this version is great! THANKS FOR UPLOADING!... I thought for years the 72 "live at the Santa Monica Civic' was the best boot version... but this is a big WoW!.... Come on Eltilish post the whole song please and could you name the boot or whart show this is from please?...Cheers!

  • but does it sound like Rono's??

  • What song is that playing? Thats some of the best ive ever heard of Mick.

  • Hi I think it;s a live improvise/jam while Bowie did a costume change.

  • Great job!

  • LOOKING GOOD WELL DONE
