@oldickeastman Basically what they do (my layman version lol ) Is when the dollar was strong, they bought up a bunch of gold while it was cheap. They get together with their buddies and crash the dollar. The price of gold goes up and they then resell it for a bunch more dollars than they paid. He does have other ideas that I like, but he has NEVER really been a serious contender in the previous 2 times hes run for President & hes not a serious contender this time even as a Republican. Dr. Paul will be almost 80 in 2016 and people will start to question his mental health at that age.
The guy doesn't want to pull social security and medicare out from under people who have lived their life in a way that they need it either, he wants to find a way to phase it out that wouldn't hurt anybody. I had the desire to opt out of Social Security long before I heard of Dr. Paul in 2007.
I'm not great with the comment system, I don't know how to make things post in order. I hate giving these Paul-bot responses but for the most part, he is speaking for the millions (yes, millions.) of young people that have always wanted the government to leave them alone. I lost that respect for Dr. Paul when I learned he, as an intern, watched a baby be cut from his/her mothers' belly, put in a bucket on the floor and put in a corner to die while they all watched. Ron Paul is really a very logical man. It's not original or genius, it's common sense. Funny thing is, he was a physician but seems to follow the Constitution better than most politicians that were lawyers. Nuff said.
Also, I want Ann Coulter to get freaky with me, but that's neither here nor there.

@nkarasch As long as Dr. Paul supports states right to legalize extremely addictive controlled substances, prostitution, doing away with FEMA, Social Security, Medicare etc...he cant get elected. He does have other ideas that I like, but he has NEVER really been a serious contender in the previous 2 times hes run for President & hes not a serious contender this time even as a Republican. Dr. Paul will be almost 80 in 2016 and people will start to question his mental health at that age.

The guy doesn't want to pull social security and medicare out from under people who have lived their life in a way that they need it either, he wants to find a way to phase it out that wouldn't hurt anybody. I had the desire to opt out of Social Security long before I heard of Dr. Paul in 2007.

I'm not great with the comment system, I don't know how to make things post in order. I hate giving these Paul-bot responses but for the most part, he is speaking for the millions (yes, millions.) of young people that have always wanted the government to leave them alone. Don't underestimate his popularity. Whether the Republican party would give him the nomination, even if he won?...that I don't know.

@nkarasch I hear what youre saying, and he does have a group of supporters that seem to travel with him whenever he is going to speak. I can say alot of positive things about Dr. Paul..I mean, he is a Gentleman, hes Classy and Dignified. However, some of his ideas(like the ones I mentioned earlier) seem to me to be stuck in the 60s & &70s. Legalizing Heroin for example. That wouldve been HUGELY popular back in the 70s. Legal prostituton, how many wouldnt go to college to sell their bodies etc.

Ron Paul is sharper more lucid , intelligent and coherent at age 76 than most men half his age . Sure , I wish he were younger so we could have him and his knowledge ,expertise and advice even longer . But I will take RP as my candidate over anyone else of any age . If you read his book The Revolution"A Manifesto , I can almost guarantee that you will agree with 99% of what he has to say . They want you to think he's a nut but he IS in touch with what a lot of people want.

@doogleandalix I dont think Dr. Paul is, to use your phrase, "a nut", I actually think he is a Gentleman with Class & Diginity. However, (and you knew there was a "however" coming) some of his more out-of-touch ideas like the ones I mentioned to nkarasch, are whats keeping him from being elected in my opinion. Getting rid of Govnt, legalizing controlled substances, all that kind of stuff is rhetoric from the 60s & 70s. Those types of ideas are not practical in todays much smaller world.

I don't think he wants to get rid of govt. as a whole - he wants to give more power to state govts. rather than the Fed.govt. There are so many Federal agencies that are bloated and filled with connected people _ I bet we agree on that one.I am for legalizing marijuana - evidence has shown that it is less harmful than alcohol.I NEVER read he wanted to legalize other controlled substances. We don't need to get rid of FEMA,SS per se, but they need a major overhaul.

@doogleandalix I recall Dr. Paul saying that he is for states right to legalize drugs like Heroin. Herioin, as you may know, is a derivative of Morphene.a controlled and HIGHLY addictive pain killer. With respect to FEMA, I recall Dr. Paul saying when asked how people who live in states that routinely get hit by natural disasters would get help, his response was "just dont live there".That logic would mean that most states with coastline should be evacutatede. Not a pratical/Presidential stance.

I looked it up - from what I rad , he is for letting states decide matters of individual liberties , like freedom of religion, gay marriage , etc. In the video I watched onyoutube , the reporter SAID that Ron Paul was in favor of legalizing heroin and Ron said " you put those words in my mouth " . If he did say " don't live in those states " that 's a pretty odd comment - does not sound like the Ron Paul I "know" . I may not agree with him 100% , but he;s my guy!

Also, Dr. Paul told Chris Wallace on FOX News Sunday that people in Mississippi that were recently flooded, shouldnt expect help from the Govnt, but build their own levees. I think it was in that same debate that he said "just dont live there" regarding people in high risk states.

he did say that if he owned a house on the beach it was his responsibility to pay extra for ins.Here if you are in a flood district,you are MANDATED to pay extra for flood ins because you chose to live there .he said why should others pay extra for someone to have a house on the beach ? As for FEMA,we had a tornado here . 5 people I work with affected .All made out like bandits. FEMA giving vouchers,hotel $,food stamps to anyone in line no oversight . needs an overhaul

What abou tthe people that live in WA,OR,CA,AZ,NM,TX,LA,FL,GA,SC,VA,NJ etc, basically ALL of the coastline states that are subject to natural disasters. Does Dr, Paul suggest all of those people move to someplace less "risky"?

I hear you &agree with you but I also agree to a point,with Ron Paul. buy your own homeowners insurance . that will cover your losses . Your insurance would prob. cost more if you live in high risk areas as it already does because they pay out more claims . Ron paul nas no prob with states having addl. aid. here in MA people also got funds from MEMA the state version of FEMA . he speaks off the cuff his main point is leave it to the states. too much Fed bloat.

Hes a Gentleman with Class and Dignity and you present those same qualities as a supporter of his.(not all of his supporters do) I watched a show on FOX last night on the theory of voting on looks. Basically they were saying the better looking a candidate is, the more votes they tend to get. Now, I dont look to FOX for hard hitting factual news, but that was an interesting thought.

Thanks :) Sadly I agree with the assessment that looks and charisma equals votes. My sister used to say her mother-inlaw was the stereotype of the avg. voter . She voted for Clinton because as she said " he looked nice and handsome and could not be a liar " based on his looks. I bet over 50% of people voting know absolutely NOTHING about what their candidate believes in.
