  • cant find @mitchel1611's comment :/

  • This is one of my favorite songs. Definitely.

  • I love this song the future of hiphop is kasuwell if you haven't hear of him check him out

  • Memory house - Latley is the real song, please recognize the actual talent behind the beat.........

  • @joeynipote Memoryhouse actually sampled Jon Brion's ''Phone Call'' for that song, the original Jon Brion loop is the one that Jay Electronica is rapping over.

  • @joeynipote Jon Brion - Phone Call is the "original song", Memoryhouse sampled from...please recognize the actual talent behind the beat that your talking about fam.........1Up for Jay Elec.

  • @wiseoficu

    who cares!

just listen to this master piece and relax ...jeez!

  • @afterschoolfun666 "joeynipote" cares obviously..& thats who I made the comment for....but as for "You" & "Your Feelings" towards that comment; "Fuck You & Your Opinion"...1Up for Jay Elec.

  • @joeynipote lol this came out years before that song, they both sample Jon Brion's song.

  • I wish this wasn't so short..but at the same the fact is passes so quickly is part of its beauty

  • The source, XXL, and the rest have really fell asleep, to me this deserves recognition as one the greatest verses realeased that year. All these magazines have changed into scams to self-promote wack shit, you never hear MTV or VH1 talking about this song, or the rest of his mixtapes, because why would they want to cover someone as intelligent and open-minded as Jay-electronica? Great artist, end of story.

  • try spitting this verse...

  • ECUADOR represent!!! Masterpiece!

  • @peoplenevernotice you can rap over anything. you should be giving him respect for rapping over such an amazing and inspiring soundtrack.

  • why would someone rap over this. the score for the this movie is beautiful. this is not.

  • @peoplenevernotice seriously, you poor lost soul

  • @peoplenevernotice actually i can see your perspective, coming from someone who has probably seen the movie and knows this song as a part of the movie (which has nothing to do with rap). but from a hip hop perspective this song is very very good, Jay Elec's message is perhaps one of the deepest idea's ever seen in hip hop. but i dont know if i'd agree that this isn't beautiful. this song also was ranked #2 hip hop song of the year in 07 by About dot com

  • this bro can spit hot fire! i dig this

  • whats the name of the instrumental in part 1

  • This it just too raw, dude is ill

  • I believe he is the most intelligent rapper alive by the way he makes people think with his lyrics. Thumps up if you agree

  • Up there with the best. Fantastic.

  • beautiful beat.

  • TONE BEZ. look me up. im way better than ya AVERAGE RAPPER i promise u.

    SHO SOME LOVE/SUPPORT YOUTUBE

  • Who the hell could dislike this? This is perfectness!

  • NO HOOK NO DRUMS JUST DO SHIT !

  • @phesuno true shit* haha

  • @TheWop4life We both wrong breh..its ''NO DRUMS NO HOOKS JUST KNEW SHIT''

  • @phesuno haha we fucked up.

  • @phesuno new shit

  • @fetusfacebb nice ... Jon Brion is the producer for most songs on Late Registration by KanYe ...COOL.

  • she said she never fell in love with a superman.

  • You guys believe Carter Whitelow? It's hard to believe that Jay might not have written this

  • check out my little sample I did on eternal sunshine

  • I just really love this and I don't know why :)

  • @ChristinaLufsMonkeys probably because its from the heart

  • @Snizmark oooo yes :]

  • "mysterious shit, call me Jay Dogon im on some sirius shit" WOW!!!!!!! :O

  • does anyone know the name of the original song that he's rapping over? HELP

  • @suhhmerr it's from the soundtrack to the movie "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". do your homework before you ask questions. google is your friend

  • @qtiprick yeah i'm aware of what movie it's from, i actually looked at every song from eternal sunshine that i could find before i asked. it was hard to find this specific song. so be more considerate before you make assumptions.

  • @mitchel1611 not stolen.... ReCycled

  • @mitchel1611 Might have not been 'stolen', more like a tribute ? That's what I hope for at least haha. Cyne is pretty dope.

  • the only hip hop thats dead is the kind on the radio this is hip hop

  • /user/rollindeep92?feature=mhum CHECK IT!!!!

  • @mitchel1611 He didn't steal it bro, he's paying tribute to the man

  • @jjredick444444 well said

  • He makes rapp look good like the old school good nice bro keep up the good work

  • But what does it mean if I'm a Muslim and you a Jew and because of that alone we don't get along..........absolute genius

  • This is tough man....real music for real ears...you gotta love it....underground artists like MURS, CYNE, BLU, BRO ALI, ESOTERIC, TOP SCHOLARS, Jay Electronica, Big KRIT ALL NEED TO BE LISTENED TO BY THE MASSES!!!Please pay them their respect!

  • @mitchel1611 it might be a nod to Cyne.

  • Brilliant.Awesome.Great.Incredible.Amazing.

no matter how many words i could think of, i couldnt quite explain how much i enjoyed listening to that.

  • this movie is so emotional, never thought I'd hear someone use a song from the soundtrack (song is called phone call)

  • 1:55 is too short to enjoy this . type 'repeat' in the url after youtube

  • Definition of Good music.

  • I music produce and I started creating Gucci Mane type beats to get big in the industry then I heard Jay Electronica and now I only produce beats that remind me of Nas, J.Cole, Jay Electronica, Jay-z, Eminem, KRS one, Pharcyde... basically GOD-HOP...

  • @coolkavi Oh so you copied them except you arent as good...

  • @coolkavi thank you for including Pharcyde

  • @coolkavi,good for you,hip hop is dead in the mainstream,it just went underground

  • @coolkavi jayz and eminem dont belong in that category...

  • @coolkavi check out sweatshop union. if you don't like them that's cool, but they're intelligent and have a great message that makes you question all the time.

  • Every song he's ever dropped has been incredible. His lyrics are so deep.

  • 9 people are out they cotton pickin eternal minds

  • This song gives me shivers how amazing it is.

  • @Rahooligan92 GODbumps.

  • i swear i want all the rhymes i ever write to be just as honest as this and more.

  • Comment removed

  • This should be required listening for every bigot and dirtbag that thinks hip-hop has no content and just talks about niggas, bitches, and hoes.

People who assume hip hop is just about booty shakin' hoes and the other crap that predominantly white men in suits try to sell to America is on some bullshit.

Hip hop is a beautiful thing.

  • @manaxayo It can be a beautiful thing. It can either be deep and meaningful or crude and depraved. It's not like it's either all beautiful or ugly. People oversimplify things into being black and white as a way of coping with this intricate and complicated thing known as reality.

  • you can pretty much quote this whole song

  • jay elect will rewire your brain to make you feel the level hes on

  • "But what does it mean if I'm a Muslim and you a Jew and because of that alone we don't get along

And when you talk like this, and try to walk like this the radio stations'll never put a nigga on

Just Mims, just 50, just Wayne, just Jeezy, Dem Franchize Boyz, and Jimmy Jones

Fuck that, fuck rap this God-hop,

King-dom mu-sic for the hard rocks."

That kills about 95% of the garbage "rap" and Hip- POP out today

  • Fuck that, fuck rap this God-hop /

King-dom mu-sic for the hard rocks

  • @mitchel1611 He's not stealing it, he's referencing/paying homage to it

  • this is fucking genius

  • Beautiful...

  • i've had this on repeat for about 15 times

just watched Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind aswell

it makes this track that much better

  • All art is stolen from somewhere. Why couldn't it have been an allusion? there are several allusions in this song.

  • Oly shit. this is the second rap ive heard from this guy and I know he is one of the most righteous ones in hip hop. THANK YOU JAY ELEC.

  • @queensdiplomat02 Aiight thanks mate. I just saw that movie a while back and I was wondering through the movie if this song had anything to do with this

  • He killed it!

  • It's cool that he's promoting the movie at least, cos he didn't compose any of it :]

  • light for the lost masses ."god hop' . eternal sunshine for the blind minds

  • @SPROCKM i ratedat

  • this guy is raw

  • @colin4393 T.I. is shit. just a radio rapper.

@skins315- lilwayne heads cant comprehend at all. I challenge any lil wayne fan to listen to the song "dumb it down" by lupe fiasco and tell me they understood.

jay electronica, b.o.b., j.cole, kid cudi and wiz khalifa = the new generation

  • Not trying to be a dick man- but "dumb it down" really isn't that complicated of a song if you have any brain what-so-ever.

I like Electronica, b.ob. and wiz- don't really think cudi is that fresh, hate roth.

  • @cobb864 it isnt that complicated if you listen to real hip hop, but for the people who listen to lil boosie and gucci mane, its like another language. but yeh i agree wit you on asher roth lol but i just like his album man on the moon. its high music lol

  • What the fuck. I need to buy this guy's record.

  • God, i love Jay, bloody amazing!

What do you guys think about T.I?

I don't like him but my mate loves him and he says he's the one thats going to save Hip-Hop.

I don't know how to tell him, the kid thats listened to HipHop all his life, that T.I is nothing.

    Any opinions?

    Peace x

  • I dont think T. I . will ever save hip hop. no disrespect to him just dont think he is the one... If anything check out Joell Ortiz, I think he has a better chance to save Hip Hop

  • @Curicua i agree and fashawn is pretty good too
