wow, a classical jazz tune sung in hindi... except for the words, there is nothing indian about this song, not even the instrumentation. it still works extremely well; props to a.r. rehman for coming out of his elements, because jazz is much more difficult to compose and orchestrate than a typical hindi song.

Music of Jodha Akbar was in a different style to suit the times ( pure Indian) - and was excellent too.

There is a song in Parineeta which is Jazz influenced called Kaise Pehle Zindagi but A R Rahman has released more jazz influenced songs in Tamil than in Hindi so if you don't follow Tamil music I guess this will be your first.

i've just listened to the song that you just mentioned, and it's a very nice song as well. that song has lots of jazz elements put together beautifully, but this here IS a jazz song.
