  • this is still awesome!!!

  • Ray LaMontagne and Conan? Where the dump was I?

  • His voice in unmistakable among a sea of sound alikes. Incredibly soulful with just the right dash of rasp. A voice most of us would die for! The writing and performance is top notch as well.

  • Everyone Loves Ray LaMontagne

Let's take a bearing from here!

  • Omg i love this guy. He sounds so soulful, he gives me shivers. Woderful talent.

  • This guy is fucking awesome!

He's the type of artist I hope to be someday

  • oh damn...what a song and musician!!!LOVE IT!

  • Love ya Ray. You move me...it's CRAZY. Thank you for your music.

  • this dude has an awesome voice =P

  • Love those horns! you rock Ray!!!

  • he broke a string towards the end....still pimped it.

  • ray is a perfect example of someone who really knows who they are musically. he got the nalane totally right, if someone else with a less outstanding voice tried this is would just be a standard progression and boring. That voice adds spice baby!

  • So much spice!

  • My favorite track off of Gossip in the Grain. Even without back up singers, or his full band, LaMontagne still delivers top notch, quality music.

  • lol i like this version so much better than the album version. i actually recorded this version of the song off youtube in mp3 format when there was a very high quality HD version of this video up, sounds pretty good. message me if anyone wants it :)

  • Nick Cave 13 - you're an idiot.

  • Seriously, I don't even particularly love this song, but even with his Unabomber mystique, his voice is so incredibly sexy that he could sing the phone book to me and I'd swoon.

  • His appearances on Talk Shows = Lots... Yours = Zero

    Stop talking now.

  • lol

  • i just saw Ray live

    he was utter perfection.

even on his off days, he is one of the best live performers.

at any rate, when i saw him, he was 100% on.

  • This song is growing on me, I dont really care for the horns at the beginning, but I like the rest of the song.

  • I love this song but the trumpets on the album are so much louder and fuller. These here sound really weak.

Go Ray! Keep making great music dude.

  • and yes....i think he does sound a little strained in the voice in this performance...but who knows how tired he is from touring and promoting.....

  • Light the fuck up chicodinero! Ray sounds great on this track, and hat's off to him for experimenting with new sounds. I love the early stuff, but if he kept on repeating it over and over again, everyone including you would start to fall out of love with him.

  • i so agree with derekyateswilliamson....ray's earlier stuff like "water from the well," "write you a letter," "acre of land," "lead me on," are some of my favorites even though he disavows some of that stuff today....but it does all kind of run together after a while....with this track i see him as just exploring the other side of the coin he carries...i love it.....

  • I'm sorry-but clearly you like to hear the same old stripped down, sound that ray has had before. It's good he's finally expanding himself and wrote a melody that doesn't sound like every other song he has. It's new, refreshing and done well ina very contemporary style ray lamontagne.

  • If by contemporary you mean classic soul, then yes.
