FYI...Rick Nelson's studio version of this song is available on CD..."Best Always" / "Love and Kisses" (two albums on one CD) from England's ACE Records CDCHD 669. Both albums were originally released in 1965. Readily available from I'net retailers such as Amazon or CD Universe.
This song was written by Roger Miller...Rick and James Burton were 'reunited' on this show, getting to play together again, as James Burton was a regular member of the Shindig program. He'd joined after he'd left Rick's band when Rick had quit touring at that time.
I watched Ricky grow up on there t.v. show, and i have heard all of his songs. thats what i thought, But this is a new one on me. Its a realy great song, and he was a realy great performer. Sure miss you Ricky, you were one of the all time greats. Thanks for sharing this grat song.
Whether or not it was genuine or they were payed by the studios to do it, it sort of irks me how many squealing girls in the audience have nearly ruined performances over the years--especially during this era.
i saw rick in person two times. one was at our hometown country and western club called "the saddle rack" and i also saw him at the fairgrounds. he was so awesome.
Really? Did you see him? Wow!!! I'm his fan number one in Mexico. He's my idol... What a shame he isn't among us anymore. Ricky, eres la neta del planeta!!! I always sing his songs :)) Do you have any picture of him???
yes, i saw rick nelson when i lived in california. i saw him 2 times. i now live in idaho. i was very sad when rick died. i have been a fan of his since he was a little boy.
sue 4343 - I was on leave from Germany (ARMY) in 1981- to attend our High School reunion 1971 from Hawthorne high school- One of the Class mates Debbie White - told me then she was a back-up singer in Ricky's Group Stone Canyon Band -Later in 1985 that NewsDay when I heard the news - I was a DJ in a Florida Radio Station- & thought Debbie was also victim of the crash- he was The Best ! Professional all the way -
i remember exactly what i was doing when i heard that rick died. i was getting ready to go to a new years eve party and i remember i couldn't have a good time because i couldn't stop thinking about rick.
I stumbled across this totally by accident--just an incredible vocal...release this in 1975, in the era of country rock, and it's his biggest hit. Sad that it was too far ahead of its time.
smooth !!!

A most beautiful person and voice.
What a shame God called him so early in life.
R.I.P. my idol of the 60's,
You have to listen to Ricky sing a beautiful song...AGAIN A 1949 melody many of Ricky Nelson's fans never heard him sing.
He is romantic...ust super !

WOW, never seen this one! GREAT! What a legend, yet he's never brought up much. He's the only one besides the Beatles that gave Elvis any comp!
