I used the air pump method when I was in high school for science class. One of the assignments was a contest to see who could make the highest flying rocket. Some used a double bottle design. One of the rockets went up more than 140 feet, and it must of took off at over 100 MPH. Was quite impressive being it was just a plastic soda bottle with water and air supplied by a bicycle tire pump. Amazing they allowed that stuff, imagine if the bottle tipped over and hit someone. OUCH

OK EVERYBODY HAS TO TRY THIS: i was thinking of a way to make the rocket more aerodynamic. Get two identicle pop bottles cut the bottom off of one of them and then cut the top out of the other and place the top piece onto where you cut the bottom out making a bottle with a lid on each side. this will allow the rocket to be more aerodynamic and i also found that it would be easier to pour because you would already place the opened lid on the cork. unscrew the top lid put the stuff in and screw on
