The singer playes rhythm and lead plus he sings. How many people can do that the guy has talent. Anvil are not bad however they do not have that wow facter and to me they have a rawness to there sound a lot of early 80s metal blade bands had this kind of sound still still the song wrighting is not all that good, but when you compare the singers talent to most of todays artests he comes out above just about everyone. Just that anvel kind of got over powered by the big four of 80s thrash.

@Zakk30burton The guitarist, Dave Allison left the band around 1989, the bassist, Ian Dickson left sometime after the Worth The Wight Album was released in 1991. Ian Dickson has a pretty successful business going on right now with his wife where they build models and such things. Dave Allison is living good right now somewhere in Ontario.

Try listening to the albums they released in the 90's, particularly Worth The Weight if you want to hear heavy. You can definatly hear on their albums they released in the 90's how they evolved woth the times, releasing some of the heaviest music recorded!
