  • hey how do you past that live clip to your video?

  • Cool to see you getting as pumped as we are at 1:40 haha

  • man i was headbangin along with you then

    awesome!!!

  • fuck man, you nailed those songs:) 5/5! i love these two masterpieces. soon i will put up a straws cover, i just need o change my strings first cos i use a 013-053 set tuned to E:D

  • Fucking great!!!!!!!!!!

  • \m/\m/

  • MESHUGGAH!!!!!!!!!

  • Definitely Straws Pulled at Random is the better of the two, timing and notes are spot on, and you obviously have fun playing. Grind on! 5er.

  • i like you

  • Can any of you guys HELP me??

Does anyone here use UltimateGuitar, com or is a member?

I posted the tab of what I play here for 'Straws Pulled at Random' but to my surprise it has been crucified (in rating and reviews) with no reasons as to why its so wrong?

Can anyone that can play it tell me what they think?

Its just the 1 gtr part.

    I can't find 1 mistake! What's wrong with it?

Could it be 'cause its in 4/4 or the way I've kept the 2nd and 3rd beat separate(which was the way I was taught)

  • U RULE. a 6 string? not a bad tone.

  • Thanks Man!

    Meshuggah Rule!!!

    I Love Meshuggah!!

  • yes !!

    Good job

You gave me the idea to relisten to Nothing one more time : -)

  • damn man, we need to jam

  • What kind of guitar is that?

  • A Samick.

    It has served me well,

but it has rusty pick-ups, worn frets and dodgy switches.

    Doh!

  • great, man!

    under control chaos, indeed:)

  • whath about solo?)))

  • Servicemobileru, I don't have a breath controller or any volume controller so it won't sound the same.

Never considered even learning the solo.

I adore the lead on NONE and Special Defects but DEI lead seems to me to be for effect rather than tangible melody. (sounds like electrons flowing through a computer)

Ground breaking. Also very hard to work out what's happening so as to learn it.

FBM lead is do-able though. Now I must try I guess.

  • =)))

  • I think I am the only one that have favorized this Preformence!

  • gahhh! you rock! very good covers...so many people dont fully "get" mushuggah's sense of rhythm and try to cover anyway...but thats not the case for you.

  • awesome :O :O

  • Great rythym you got down Meshuggah's complex patterns. How are you playing it all on a six string?

  • evildemonclone, I usually use 46 - 9 gauge (E-Ball hybrids)

Got rid of the 9 and moved all the strings over a position

    Added a 54 or 56(I bought about 5 of both - can't remember which one's on there)

Fattest string tuned to Bb and from there I tune same intervals as normal Gtr.

Used Boss pitch shifter pedal down a fourth to achieve '8th' string for Nothing stuff

PS thanks for making a comment for sure.

    Do u play a 7 string?

  • Nope ive been using a six string with 12- 56 custom gauge Ernie Balls, which I tuned to drop B. Thanx for the advice ive been having a hard time capturing their sound.

  • your guitar sounds horrid but you play pretty bad assly (if that's even a real term). nice one.

  • Don't forget it's u-tube and my vid's been compressed twice. None-the-less it sounds pretty shitty. Ha, but if u thought that sounded bad, check out my next post of Sepultura.(it's worse) Using record player amp line out direct in to rec.HaHa

  • well i meant by bad assly i meant you played it well, but nevermind :P

  • No no, your right mate - thanks for your comment(and wicked compliment). Seriously I appreciate all observations, I've had problems with my lounge room sound forever and I have a bad noise problem from sitting infront of the monitor too. (Also I live in a flat and can't use my Marshall Combo.

  • ah that sucks man. still, you get two thumbs up and as many limbs i can stick up for effort. especially on the clean arpeggio part that marten plays before the 1st solo, i can't even get that and i can play most meshuggah stuff! heh

  • Nice job!

  • man how you hold your plec. it's much more difficult the way you do it.

  • Very good job my friend!

  • Hey achokarlos, thanks.

    You r a ledgend.

  • Meshuggah Fu*?ing Rule!

Ironic that their music is so precise and rhythmically complex, when listened to for the first time it can sometimes seem like random chaos. (untill your brain twigs)

    PS 'Perfect Chaos'

  • exact chaos

  • Thanks! Good comment because Meshuggah ironically does sound chaotic and random to a lot of people giving it a listen for the first time or to people who just can't get it.

Meshuggah fans (like u) know how perfected their madness is.

It's hard to believe they can play live so well. So tight. Pure rhythmical perfection.
